I loved this show in the '90s but can this work?
It'll work as well as Magnum PI.

Hey, Janine Turner has a child to support.

Amazingly enough, John Cullum is available.

I loved Northern Exposure and I'd be happy to watch a limited reunion movie or something, but I don't see how a full revival could work. So Fleischman returns for a funeral..and never leaves? Silly premise.

Can Janine Turner be eaten by a polar bear?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 20, 2018 8:36 PM |
I loved the show back in the day, but this seems better left alone. Especially if John Corbett is going to be a producer only and not onscreen.

Hated Maggie. Felt sorry for Joel. Hated the show, basically.

I played two different roles on the show & would be willing to revive either one!

Hope the destroy Palin and her crotch droppings every chance they get.
And being back Adam & Eve!!!!

I loved the original, especially Maurice Minnifield, one of the most three-dimensional characters ever on network tv.
I could see this working if done right, which is a BIG if.

Loved the first few seasons. I don't think I've ever seen it again after it ended. Does it air or stream anywhere?

This should be fun, in terms of behind the scenes antics. Rob Morrow is legendarily difficult to work with - David Krumholtz has referred to him being a diva on Numb3rs. And now Janine Turner is a right wing nut. Should be one crazy set! Will Sarah Palin cameo?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 21, 2018 1:17 AM |
I loved the original.

R13, Sarah Palin can play the moose in the opening sequence.

Wasn't he rumored to be miserable the final season because he wanted to leave to pursue a film career? And yes, Janine (who's from my hometown) is a right-wing nutjob. I can just imagine that she loves the ground Trump waddles on.

I can't imagine Joel going back to Alaska.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 21, 2018 2:13 AM |
The actress playing Ruth Ann is dead so we should bring in Yul Brynner to play her part.

I hated this show. I used to gag every time they showed the young woman with the disgusting old man who was her boyfriend. I also developed my intense dislike for John Corbett during the original run. I love David Chase as a writer but hate NE.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 21, 2018 2:31 AM |
This is truly a horrible idea.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 26, 2018 2:05 AM |
I liked the show a lot and Marilyn was my favorite character. I hope this doesn't happen.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 26, 2018 2:19 AM |
I used to watch this show religiously and I'm not sure why, because it sucked in retrospect.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 26, 2018 2:20 AM |
John Corbett was the main reason I watched the show and he has morphed in looking something like Blake Shelton who I despise.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 26, 2018 2:22 AM |
This could work if the actors can effortlessly slip back into character and if the same writers wrote it.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 26, 2018 3:07 AM |
R23 Good christ, that is tragic.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 27, 2018 2:21 PM |
They need to cast Bristol Palin as the town slut.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 27, 2018 2:27 PM |
Wait...David Chase was a writer for this show?! Wow, his stock just dropped a little. I could not stand this show, it was so precious. Something about it just screams the '90's, a lot like that stupid Ed show with Tom Cavanaugh (man, did they try to make that guy happen). It will flop, mark my words.

I didn't mind the preciousness. I felt so sorry for Joel. was a New Yorker stuck in Seattle for a couple of years, and Alaska looked even worse. And that cunt Maggie, talk about an anti-Semite. No surprise Janine Turner turned out to be a Reichtard. Not much acting needed for her to bring us that cunt Maggie.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 27, 2018 2:34 PM |
I think I know why it screams "the '90's" to me: it has that "quirkiness" so popular in 90's television.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 27, 2018 2:37 PM |
Why do you say Maggie was an anti-Semite?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 27, 2018 2:39 PM |
It was subtext, mostly, r30. She was such a cunt to Joel, and she would never stop talking about being a WASP from Grosse Pointe. And she was such a cunt to Joel.

Many years ago I was at a business reception where Janine Turner was the MC. There were two or three acts (singers, Hispanic folkloric dancing troupe). All she was required to do was introduce the various company speakers and the entertainers. She was terrible....she seemed out of it....maybe she had too much wine. It must have been galling for a one time in demand actress to have this hosting gig, but it was an honest paycheck. She probably needs the work!
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 27, 2018 2:53 PM |
Yeah, but wasn't Joel a snob? He was snotty and dismissive to her when he first arrived in Alaska.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 27, 2018 2:55 PM |
I tried to watch the 1st season a few months ago. I only made it to the 4th episode.
Hopelessly outdated.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 27, 2018 3:27 PM |
It was Alaska. He was allowed to be snobby, snotty, and dismissive. And wasn't he kind of being held there against his will?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 27, 2018 3:30 PM |
No. The show died when Rob Morrow left because he was convinced he was going to become a big movie star. It's funny that his career is so dead that he has to reboot a show that he hated.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 27, 2018 3:43 PM |
No one cares about this show - this will tank like the new Murphy Brown
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 27, 2018 3:45 PM |
Is Adam Ant available?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 27, 2018 3:59 PM |
Ted from HIMYM could play Joel's brother. Those two need to play brothers in something.
