“Ingrid Goes West” starring Aubrey Plaza, Elizabeth Olsen, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Billy Magnussun is SO GOOD

I'm in my 50's. I thought it was clever and OK. Not !!OMG!! !SOOOOO GOOD! !!OMG!!

Well I’m not an old stuck up bitch like you, R1. I highly enjoyed it. It was clever, witty and at least attempted to be different from everything else that’s released now.

I loved this too! And the cherry on top is DL Fave Billy Magnussen has extended shirtless scenes, as well. Very original and entertaining.

I enjoyed it, but it kind of fizzled out at the end. I would watch a series just about Ingrid where she stalks a new person each week, though.

I would rather cast Ice Cube's son instead of Denzil Washington's....

Billy was HOT! A truly awful person though. Most of them were. I think there’s a lot of Ingrid’s out there.

I liked it a lot, but couldn't believe he stayed with her at the end. "You're a hot guy, OShea, and she's a psycho who got you hospitalized"

Loved it. Really captures this weird moment in time. And it took me a while before I realized the hunk was Goldie's son. He really looks like a male Goldie.

R19 I hated how he stayed also. It’s good he saved her life but that’s it. Leave her there in the Hospital. lol.

Billy Magnussen looks great almost naked but his face is meh. Overrated.

I was telling my friends about this movie. Oddly enough, it reminded me of my HS experience in the late 2000s. Social media wasn't much of a factor, besides Facebook. I went to extreme lengths, spending a lot of money (thanks mom), trying to be cool. In the end, my personality didn't warrant a long-term connection so the cool kids moved on. It hurt and I internally became more desperate to be liked.

You know, R4? It really is essentially a remake of "All About Eve." A successful one, too, authentic to our time. Much better than trying to actually remake "All About Eve."

Like the poster upthread, I'm in my 50s but I thought it was great and spot-on. I'm fascinated by these Instagram influencer types. What can I say, I like to keep up with the hep kids.

I loved Plaza and she was great in Parks & Recreation, but the character reminded me of those sad. lonely people that stalk random stars like Taylor Swift or young girls who kill themselves because they're being shunned online by the cool kids. That is, her sadness seemed to "real life" to enjoy her pulling a fast one the obnoxious Instagram influencer

I consider this a companion piece to the Talented Mr. Ripley! I've met each of these characters : aspiring screenwriter, shallow social media bimbo, lame wannabe artist that talks big, douchebag brother. It also shows realistic social media stalking.

Aubrey is an awesome icon. The movie sounds epic.

I really loved this movie! Ingrid is nuts but also totally relatable in a lot of ways. Aubrey Plaza is a total weirdo and a genius. I'm sure she would be a lot of fun to hang out with

It's a fascinating character study about (a) someone who's living her life through instagram and online connections and (b) someone who is so self-centered she posts everything she does / says / thinks because she thinks she's that interesting

Can’t stand Aubrey Plaza but this movie sounds pretty good. I’m going to give it a watch.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and that Taylor would recognize Ingrid from the first time they met. Nicky was an asshole who should've been called out. Also agree on Dan not sticking around after being in the hospital.

Dan should have never let Ingrid manipulate him.

I've seen Aubrey on talk show interviews and she's very funny and extremely dry - a total unique personality for Hollywood.

I always found her still being good friends with Chris Pratt refreshing. Their personalities, Political stances and morals etc. are all opposite. So the fact they are still good friends makes me happy. I hate how people cut others off simply because they are Republicans or Democrats etc. who cares? We are all human.
