Ryan Phillippe and Breckinridge Meyer...
Breckin, stupid autocorrect.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 13, 2018 10:22 PM |
Meh.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 13, 2018 10:31 PM |
Ryan Phillippe is a homophobic douche who went on to write and direct a movie about getting to torture and kill the gay fan who kidnaps him.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 13, 2018 10:41 PM |
The scene is campy.
I don't think the footage cut from 54 can make it a good movie.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 13, 2018 10:43 PM |
I had this on mute, and it was hot until the actual kiss, which was botched. What a shame.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 13, 2018 10:47 PM |
Good lort Phillipe is a bad actor
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 13, 2018 11:08 PM |
I really liked the movie.....love the song at the end (If I Could Read Your Mind)!!
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 13, 2018 11:15 PM |
^^^You're welcome.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 13, 2018 11:17 PM |
This was different from the cut that circulated around years ago. I think Ryan's character said something like "Like Christmas" before he went in. It seemed slowere and sweeter in the other cut, I guess maybe alternate takes...
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 14, 2018 12:05 AM |
Well you know what they say about homophobes [R3] ? Their supressing it . Ryan P may well be family just like many of the tv Christian evangelists caught with male escorts and masseurs are!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 14, 2018 1:00 AM |
Bello ragazzi.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 14, 2018 1:09 AM |
Ryan Phillippe is not a good actor and has a terrible voice. But he was very beautiful --he had a nice tight body and a beautiful angelic face. It reminds me of the late 70s-early 80s ideal for men (which is why he was so perfectly cast in "54").
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 14, 2018 1:17 AM |
And what happened to Breckin Meyer?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 14, 2018 1:25 AM |
R13 - You summed up his career/appeal perfectly.
Both the natural register and "affect" he puts into his voice only adds to his seeming vapidness.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 14, 2018 1:29 AM |
"Christ, was I drunk, I don't remember a thing..."
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 14, 2018 1:32 AM |
Homophobia strikes again.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 14, 2018 1:36 AM |
Why do they even film a gay kissing scene when they're all so scared of (hold me, David) The Backlash? Fuck Hollywood. Fuck all the cunt men & prick women who always lick the breeder superiority foot and forever funnel its stink into mankind's collective consciousness shoe. Ryan Pittypat's pouty lips and grabby sphincter are here to please all cocks and everybody knows it -- he REEKS OF IT!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 14, 2018 3:20 AM |
R18 Yes! Hollywood is still so frightened of the gay issue in 2018. Stunningly stupid!!!
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 14, 2018 3:38 AM |
Breckin Meyer should have had a better career. He was very attractive in a very unusual way.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 14, 2018 4:22 AM |
Ryan Phillippe is, indeed, a dreadful actor. I thought Breckin Meyer was much more believable.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 14, 2018 4:34 AM |
Yes, I actually find Breckin much hotter in OP’s clip than RP (who does nothing for me).
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 14, 2018 4:34 AM |
Why are they blue?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 14, 2018 4:40 AM |
Cut for a good reason. Dreadful.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 14, 2018 4:40 AM |
Maybe someday they could have gay actors play the gay roles so the kissing scenes wouldn't look so fucking awkward.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 14, 2018 4:41 AM |
I’ve never thought Ryan Philippe was attractive in any way. He always seemed like a douche, too.
Meyer was always beautiful (see also: Clueless) and still looks great today. Far more appealing than Philippe.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 14, 2018 5:01 AM |
Meyer was always beautiful (see also: Clueless) and still looks great today.
He was so cute in Clueless.
R23: Why are they blue?
They’re sad because it’s the end of the night, Rose.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 14, 2018 4:06 PM |
What a fucking stud @ R27! That’s the body I want. Perfection.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 14, 2018 4:29 PM |
If Wikipedia is to be believed. Meyer and Phillippe are still friends, and have a production company with Seth Green.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 14, 2018 4:36 PM |
Always thought Breckin was hot. I love short guys who are hot and cocky. Usually = big dick energy.
He was in some show a few years back where he was a lawyer, and he was always really cocky and confident in that role. Definitely made me moist.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 14, 2018 4:37 PM |
I've seen the "original" version and it was much better. A great montage scene of Ryan waking up every morning with a different girl or guy.
If Wikipedia is to be believed. Meyer and Phillippe are still friends, and have a production company with Seth Green.
Meyer and Phillippe both tell the story that they were true friends, not show biz friends before they shot the movie and was weird kissing each other. Understandable, most BF don't kiss like that.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 14, 2018 4:46 PM |
Breckin did tons of voice work too, was always on "King of the Hill" for one.
He really is short though. 'You could be a model... if you were a little taller" as Mike Meyers says in "54".
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 14, 2018 4:47 PM |
Breckin is a single, divorced dad...currently dating a soap actress.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 14, 2018 4:48 PM |
Philippe is really beautiful in blue lighting.
I'm glad there's more footage of him from his aesthetic peak days.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 14, 2018 5:13 PM |
I had no idea Meyer played both the character in "54" and "Clueless". My mind is blown.
He has a nice, slightly goofy smile. Reminds me of Joe Dallesandro's smile. He was pocket-size as well.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 14, 2018 5:19 PM |
Breckinridge Meyer
"Breckinridge" sounds like a cooler name.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 14, 2018 5:21 PM |
He's a super hottie!!!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 14, 2018 6:18 PM |
r42 = Drew Dixon and Billy Douglas
by Anonymous | reply 45 | November 14, 2018 7:30 PM |
R46 the other guy isn't Breckin Meyer, is it? Maybe another kiss from the director's cut
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 14, 2018 7:45 PM |
R47 That is the director.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 14, 2018 7:48 PM |
Oh give me a break with "we were friends before and so it was super awkward" BS.
That might be true if this were real life and we were talking about a dare at a party. But this ain't real life. It's Hollywood, and you're supposed to be actors.
Gay actors playing straight make out and/or have sex scenes with women day in day out in theater, TV, and movies. It is your fucking job to make believe and pretend to be someone you're not. Even if you think it is icky in real life.
If you can't handle that, don't go into acting.

[italic]“There was a part of us that was a little sad nobody ever got to see it,” says Phillippe of the kiss, which was restored for the director’s cut. “We did something that was relatively bold for two young male actors, and we took pride in the places that the original story went. So, it’s nice that people finally get to see Breckin and me kiss.”[/italic]

From IMDB's Trivia page
In 2008, about a decade after its original theatrical debut, Writer and Director Mark Christopher assembled a bootleg Director's Cut of the film, with forty-five minutes of never before seen footage, and unofficially screened it at New York's Outfest around July-August 2008. This version reinstated the blatant promiscuity and bisexuality of Ryan Phillippe's character, as well as the film's core love triangle between Phillippe, Salma Hayek, and Breckin Meyer which the Miramax studio forced him to cut from the original release.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | November 14, 2018 8:15 PM |
He is a bad sctor. And it was just yet another cop out.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | November 14, 2018 8:16 PM |
The restored cut is funny because the only footage available in some cases was off of VHS. And it looks like it indeed. Don't expect a Criterion print for sure.
P.S. Phliippe was one of the nicest guys with which I ever got to work and, indeed, great looking in person.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | November 14, 2018 8:22 PM |
"Why are they blue?"
Their balls were so blue that day.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | November 14, 2018 8:24 PM |
What movie is that at R42?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | November 14, 2018 8:32 PM |
Also 54, R56.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | November 14, 2018 8:39 PM |
Really? I must have totally blanked that out.
I don’t remember Cameron Matheson being in it at all.
Thanks R57
by Anonymous | reply 58 | November 14, 2018 8:50 PM |
I don’t remember Cameron Mathison being in it at all
He didn't have much screen time in the studio version
by Anonymous | reply 59 | November 14, 2018 9:01 PM |
Swimming lessons! I don't need no stinking swimming lessons!
by Anonymous | reply 60 | November 14, 2018 9:03 PM |
Why did Miramax even bother making the movie if they didn’t want to make and release THE movie?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | November 14, 2018 9:08 PM |
Scenes are cut from films all the time. Like this one from Call Me By Your Name:
by Anonymous | reply 62 | November 14, 2018 9:29 PM |
They did more than cut scenes. They de-gayed 54 almost completely
by Anonymous | reply 63 | November 14, 2018 9:31 PM |
LOL R62!!!!!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 64 | November 14, 2018 10:04 PM |
Has anyone seen the restored version?
I thought the original was pretty bad, save for Mike Myers. Had it been a better film, I think he could have come away with an Oscar nomination .
Oh give me a break with "we were friends before and so it was super awkward" BS.
Unclench Madame, they weren't taking about being uncomfortable kissing another boy, they were talking about being friends. Most close friend don't romantically kiss. Get it?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | November 14, 2018 11:48 PM |
I had the hots for both those guys, and would have loved to see them really make out. And then get invited in to a three way make out session. Because damn.
