I worked at a bank in the Reagan era in LA. Almost the entire staff were Democrats but they didn’t dare say so or they would have been run out of there by rich, entitled bosses. As others have noted, not sure if he'd be able to appeal to people on a national level, but if he played his cards right, he could actually implement a model for how to correctly handle immigration without crying kids in cages.
