Who’s getting their stuff? Unopened wedding presents. Sweet!
The bride's mother will probably keep everyything because the bride's mom is usually a grade A cunt.

We also had threads about the couple that died in a helicopter crash that was recorded from inside the copter, r2, so I assume you told everyone to go to hell then as well? Or are you just cranky today?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 5, 2018 4:20 PM |
Christ, the pilot probably died of old age en route. He was as old as dirt. You couldn't pay me to ride in a helicopter, far too dangerous.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 5, 2018 4:25 PM |
Sad.
How much did they spend on the wedding?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 5, 2018 4:25 PM |
Saves them the eventual cost of divorce attorneys.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 5, 2018 4:26 PM |
It was dark outside. One report said that the pilot radioed for assistance prior to the crash; another report said the helicopter crashed into a hill. Helicopters are dangerous. If you want to make your wedding special, why not just hire a limo?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 5, 2018 4:28 PM |
I hope they didn't vote early (you know they were Republicans).
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 5, 2018 4:28 PM |

The guy is in hunting gear and is probably a deplorable. If they were dems then I totally feel sorry for them.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 5, 2018 4:38 PM |
They lived on ranches, the best way to get out of an isolated ranch is a helicopter.
Very sad.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 5, 2018 4:47 PM |
Why was he wearing hunting gear on his wedding day? I swear it’s like these people think “what if somebody doesn’t know that I am a red neck for one day? Can’t have that!”

by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 5, 2018 7:42 PM |
I have a good friend who has been obsessed with airplanes since he was a kid; he has a pilot license, flies tiny prop planes, and always makes fun of me for having flight anxiety (I'll fly commercial in a jet with the help of a drinkie-poo or a xannie, but would never fly in one of those tiny Buddy Holly/Patsy Cline planes).
Despite all of this, even my friend says he would never set foot in a helicoptor. Too many moving parts, too much can go wrong, they are more challenging to fly, and if something serious goes wrong, they just drop like a rock. A malfunctioning airplane can at least function as a glider and you can survive a plane crash. In a helicoptor, you're just gonna drop straight down.
They're fucking dangerous, and people who get into them like this for showboating reasons are as stupid as smokers, barebackers, and people who ride motorcycles without helmets. Combined.
Darwin wins again.

The groom yelled “Speak English!”
And ~poof~ they disappeared into the flames below

Good question. I would think it would. You can officially vote early - your ballots are being officially cast on the day you vote (if not counted). So, once you do that, I'd think it would be binding, just as if you voted and died on election day.

Also, here's the groom's Twitter where the bio says "Speak English". Why didn't someone post the link? Is it because you're posting from a phone, and it's a cunt and a half to link to something on DL on a phone?
by Anonymous | reply 84 | November 5, 2018 10:16 PM |
I feel sad, but mostly about myself, that I can’t bring myself to care about them after learning about their Deplorable status. I guess politics have become so entrenched and divisive that they’ve blotted out my sympathy, which I don’t like.
But then again, I feel less guilty about laughing aloud at R31, r32, and r37.

Yikes, R91. That appears to be a new detail. That's sort of horrifying. I can understand why they went ― perhaps they hoped that someone was still alive, and could be saved. But can you imagine picking through the wreckage of a helicopter, locating the corpse of your child or sibling, and then staying there until dawn?

Hard to imagine that people are dancing on these kids’ graves over politics. It makes you wonder about the right side.
Btw, for the poster who botched about the border, Obama started the policy of putting kids in cages. Hating Trump doesn’t change that fact. The difference is that Obama never ended the policy.

Rich and stupid apparently R101.
The helicopter's pilot, Gerald Green Lawrence, 76, of Houston, also died in the crash in northwest Uvalde County, KPRC reported.
I'm sorry, I'd be nervous about a 76 year old DRIVING at night, much less flying a chopper. Who the hell approved that idea?

What are the odds Dad's ranch has undocumented workers on it? 90 or 100%?
by Anonymous | reply 107 | November 5, 2018 11:24 PM |
R107 No idea about this ranch in particular, but lots of people in Texas have “ranches” where they have some land and a house, but it doesn’t really work as an operating ranch. Sometimes they will have some animals, but again, not an operating ranch. It’s highly likely they didn’t have anyone working on their ranch at all. My grandmother, who was the daughter of a big time Colorado rancher, calls snobbish calls these places “ranchettes.”

by Anonymous | reply 109 | November 5, 2018 11:37 PM |
Yep, r108. Folks call their weekend place a ranch but don't do much more than clear brush off the land (like when Bush was in office). It's a status symbol for the well-to-do.

R138’s link says her funeral will be in Vidor, which is notoriously racist. Just FYI.
Of course her family will sue, they may as well cash a check on their little gold-digger.

From Wikipedia. Jesus fucking Christ.
Vidor was once known as a "sundown town," where African Americans were not allowed after sunset; it was long considered a haven for the Ku Klux Klan. In 1993, after the U.S. federal government attempted to bring African Americans into Vidor's public housing, the Klan held a march in the community, prompting African American families to move out within a matter of months.[1]

I cannot believe someone had the poor taste to write some shit about spending their honeymoon with Jesus. It’s almost like a challenge to normal, human reactions and feelings. No need to mourn! They’re spending their honeymoon with Jesus, and grandpa!
The only good spin on this, is that at the very least, this couple had an opportunity to spend their last day on earth surrounded by people they love, and these people who they love, were also able to spend the day with them. By all accounts, it appears to have been a fun wedding.
RIP, and condolences to their family and friends.

R176 The Bessette family were quite upset with JFK Jr for wiping out 2/3rds of their family, and while they didn't sue, they "reached" a settlement with the Kennedys for $15 million. JFK Jr was solely responsible for both Bessettes' deaths, hence the exchange of cash

R232 here
Correction: the Bessette family did sue the Kennedys by filing a wrongful death claim on behalf of Carolyn and Lauren.
Likewise, the family of the dead female deplorable could file a wrongful death claim against the family who owned the helicopter and allowed the elderly and ?tipsy pilot to fly it.

A day in the life of Rowdy Parrott:
A conversation with Rowdy Parrott could easily whip up a person’s appetite. The 24-year-old professional steer wrestler comes from Mamou, Louisiana, and has Cajun cooking in his genes, whether it’s with game he’s harvested or crawfish that his family raises. “We eat a lot of wild game,” says Rowdy. “We get duck, squirrel, deer, all kinds of different things. You can put squirrel in rice gravy, and ducks, we breast them or bake them, or cook them in rice and gravy too.” Rowdy grew up knowing where the food on the table came from, helping his family farm until they switched to raising crawfish four or five years ago. They raise the crawfish in ponds formed by rice fields. The crawfish burrow underground when the rice fields are drained and harvested, then return to the surface when it rains and are harvested from November through July. Rowdy’s family harvests as many as 400-500 sacks of crawfish a day, and he helps with loading and shipping them to restaurants and stores.
by Anonymous | reply 242 | December 4, 2018 6:11 AM |
More about Rowdy:
Rowdy also loves hunting with his family, especially duck hunting with his dad and brother. “We love it. We get up early in the morning and go hunting in the rush fields, and we have some pretty good dogs. I have a cousin who does the training. It’s so fun; it’s addicting. Duck hunting is usually fast-paced. You might sit in a blind and talk, and deer hunting is more quiet, sitting in a stand and waiting.” As much as he enjoys the action of duck hunting, Rowdy likes the quiet of deer hunting even more. He hunts white-tail deer on his in-laws’ ranch in West Texas, where deer season runs November to January. “They’ve done a lot of work out there, so it’s all set up. Duck hunting is fast-paced, but I like sitting and watching all the deer and being outdoors. My wife, Lynette, likes to hunt. She doesn’t do it as much now that we have our son, Pacen, but she went with me a couple times this year, and I’m ready for Pacen to start getting old enough to do it.” While Pacen isn’t quite old enough to go hunting yet — he’ll turn 1 in May — he is a seasoned traveler already, trekking down the road with his parents since he was 6 weeks old. Rowdy met Lynette through rodeo, competing with one of her cousins before he started pro rodeoing. She rodeoed in high school and continues to ride horses with Rowdy. “I couldn’t do this without my family,” says Rowdy. “They have been amazing and always supported me and helped me get up and down the road.” He’s the first in his family to rodeo at this level, though his grandfather fought bulls. “We showed cattle and would always go to rodeos. I just liked it and decided I was going to try to do it, and I got hooked!” Rowdy started with team roping and made it to the NHSFR in 2009, followed by winning the LHSRA state title in steer wrestling in 2011. “I used to do all the events, but I just love the rush that you get steer wrestling, and the contact. I’ve always loved it since I first started,” says Rowdy, who made four trips in all to the NHSFR. He and his parents, Mitch and Tammy, and brother and sister, Remey and Tobi, also traveled to the IFYR during his high school career. Rowdy won PRCA Steer Wrestling Rookie of the Year in 2014 and made his debut at the WNFR in 2017 riding his gelding George. “To go there and do it was awesome — there’s not many other words for it. That topped it all, and I wanted to do better, of course, but I was satisfied with my first NFR and I’m just ready to go back.”

False equivalency, R229.
First of all, I live in a large European city and don't drive here. Walking and using public transport is generally better for your health. It's why Europeans aren't as fat as Americans. And before that, i lived in San Francisco and relied mainly on Muni and BART. I hate dealing with traffic and parking.
Even still, driving cars is unfortunately an inescapable part of life. Most people have no choice but to drive if even just to get to work and back.
In contrast, there is zero reason to ever get into a helicoptor. Zero. So people dying in helicoptor crashes is a bit closer to Darwin Award territory than just driving a car.
