Two American friends were shocked when they came over for dinner and I put olive oil and salt in our valilla ice cream for dessert. But it’s gourmet!
Do you put olive oil in your ice cream?

I think they were just shocked that with your weight, bp, and blood sugar situation that you're still eating ice cream
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 4, 2018 8:53 PM |
No, thank you, Ma'am, and I share this as someone who hails from New England, the region with the highest per capita consumption of ice cream IN THE WORLD. As to your olive oil ice cream being "gourmet," I will assume you are saying that tongue in cheek; if not, pfft... That being said, I would like to try this new flavor you mention, VALILLA.

you're a sick fuck
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 4, 2018 8:59 PM |
I would have shoved the ice cream scoop up your ass, called you a sloppy bottom, then left. I bet you have some clamato in your pantry.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 4, 2018 9:15 PM |
I’ve done this, and it is absolutely delicious.
I highly recommend.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 4, 2018 9:19 PM |
Olive oil ice cream sounds disgusting. It would clash with the ketchup.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 4, 2018 9:22 PM |
I’ve tried it, but didn’t see what the fuss was about.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 4, 2018 9:22 PM |
Do you drizzle oil over ice cream?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 4, 2018 9:36 PM |
How much do you add and why? I’ve heard of this but don’t get why people do it.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 4, 2018 9:36 PM |
I prefer good balsamic vinegar on my ice cream. Even better if one steeps sliced strawberries in it ahead of time.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 4, 2018 9:38 PM |
i'll try it and let you know!
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 4, 2018 9:38 PM |
Some drops of olive oil and " fleur de sel ", it's an Italian recipe. It's very good with ginger or lemon or thyme ice cream too.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 4, 2018 9:48 PM |
I prefer chocolate topped with mayonnaise and cinnamon.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 4, 2018 10:01 PM |
It love strawberry ice cream with hot sauce

The OO is to counteract the fat and sugar
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 4, 2018 10:15 PM |
Why do you want to counteract the fat and sugar? It's what makes it taste good.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 4, 2018 10:16 PM |
Olive oil goes best with picked fish uterus ice cream.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 4, 2018 10:17 PM |
i heard about salt but never heard about olive oil on gelato. And i'm italian! I don't see why not, tho. One of the best chocolate cakes ever is made with a lot of olive oil, and balsamic vinegar on ice cream is very good. I'll try it, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 4, 2018 10:19 PM |
Add fresh fruit, nuts, chocolate, caramel, or butterscotch sauce. Add sprinkles if desired.
Anything else, just no.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 4, 2018 10:30 PM |
Maybe whipped cream too. Make it a sundae.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 4, 2018 10:32 PM |
I like the strawberries that have a lot of the sugary juices poured on top of my vanilla ice cream.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 4, 2018 10:36 PM |
I add mayo.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 4, 2018 10:54 PM |
I've heard of drizzling balsamic vinegar onto vanilla ice cream. Anybody ever try?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 4, 2018 10:57 PM |
That's disgusting, OP. What the fuck is wrong with you? Why would you ruin perfectly good ice-cream like that?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 4, 2018 10:58 PM |
[quote]The OO is to counteract the fat and sugar
Olive oil IS fat, and eating fat with sugar keeps blood sugar elevated longer, so how does it counteract anything?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 4, 2018 11:11 PM |
I eat apples in this season. Fatties!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 4, 2018 11:23 PM |
Well, if it’s “gourmet.”
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 4, 2018 11:27 PM |
It's not gourmet, it's gross.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | November 4, 2018 11:37 PM |
Fat with sugar...keeps the sugar down, right? I have never heard of ice cream with olive oil, is this a joke. Vinager? No thanks.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | November 4, 2018 11:43 PM |
Fat actually blocks sugar from entering cells and keeps it UP. That is why Keto and low carb dieters avoid sugar (often even keeping fruit to minimum) most of the time, otherwise they sabotage their diets.

You dirty bastard!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | November 7, 2018 6:02 AM |
Wtf? And gourmet? For Americans anything involving fat and sugar is gourmet anyway
by Anonymous | reply 34 | November 7, 2018 6:02 AM |
Olive oil and milk. Delicious.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 7, 2018 6:06 AM |
My God, some of you are such rubes. Olive oil ice cream is a best seller at Salt and Straw. Olive oil and sea salt sundaes are a staple at Bi-Rite and Humphrey Schocombe.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 7, 2018 6:18 AM |
So I should base my eating habits on what is chic? You can take that $14 dollar avocado toast and shove it up your fat ass.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 7, 2018 6:25 AM |
It’s not about being chic, Jesus Christ. You probably think quiche is exotic too.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 7, 2018 6:31 AM |
I would like to try Basalmic vinegar on ice cream, but it would have to be that really thick aged one.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 7, 2018 6:38 AM |
But it's wrong... [italic]SHOCKINGLY[/italic] wrong!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 7, 2018 6:41 AM |
You're a knob OP.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 7, 2018 6:59 AM |
quiche is just an omelette with a big ego.
