RCA initially gave him a ton of backing at the expense of their other artists. Zayn refused to tour his album or promo it, and is very lazy so he can't expect RCA to keep throwing money at him for nothing in return. He has millions from 1D so he will be fine, I think he will stick to fashion since he doesn't want to perform music. If he is smart he won't waste all his money on drugs, but he can always escort if he needs more money.

I dont think Zayn can wrap himself around himself either. Zayn has all those things in his favor and he is still crippled with anxiety. I think people expect so much more from him because of his looks and talent, that he just cannot live up to the pressure of it all. A common theme in show-business, but his is a particularly bad case.

I feel the same. His vocal style is influenced by R&B. Listening to him sing these songs is actually kind of irritating sometimes. They are perfectly nice songs and his voice is nice, but the end result is not exciting enough. He would be so much more interesting if he just recorded R&B; he is suited for it and it could compliment him better.

r47, at this point if Zayn went away for a couple of years, no one would even remember him if he tried to return to make a comeback. With 1D maybe, but not as a solo artist. He has not made a big enough impact as a solo act to be viable enough to leave and return years later.

The industry moves so fast now. 2019 will make four years since he left 1D. That is plenty of time to make some moves as solo act. Beyonce got her solo career off the ground within 2 years of being on break from Destiny's Child, and even her first solo single wasn't a huge hit.

It entered the BB charts at 61 and then sank like a stone. His career really is in trouble.

The album surprised me by how ambitious yet drugged out it is. He's all over it - it's not processed pop music, for the most part. It is made by a druggie, however, and if he got out more, it would blow in some fresh air and make things tighter. He's kind of turning into a Lana Del Rey but at least she gets out.

There was an MTV special about a music producer down in FL that blew through his 50 million dollar fortune on cocaine. Even the richest man can blow through it all when drugs are involved. Whitney Houston is another example. He has a nice, above average, voice that can be easily replaced with a singer with higher star power. 1D's followers weren't that influential, case in point the other member's careers are less than stellar.
