American Beauty-but maybe Warren Beatty had a stage parent? I think in the 80s a lot of those parents to girls and boys just told them to do whatever the producer tells you. There is a crazy story that is rumored to be Heather O'Rourke that basically said her death came from producers 3 times her age taking her backstage. If even half these stories are true there should be no child actors.

That Heather O'Rourke story is relatively recent and heartbreaking. If it's true, and that's how her bowel blockage truly happened, it's one of the evilest things I've ever heard. I've seen interviews with the mother and she seemed like a decent, if naive, person.

I choose to believe it's just a conspiracy theory unless someone with credibility can affirm it.

Just watched the E True Hollywood Special about Jay North aka Dennis the Menace. Very interesting. That wasn't even so much a stage parent pushing him into stardom, but rather finding himself there, and learning to regret it by a few adults around him.
