OP, the people with the real issues are the young who are validated by superficiality and then freak out once they hit 35 and a new generation has replaced them. People who don't give a shit anymore are the ones who have grown up.

I'm a young fit fifty, and was relentlessly hit on by a late twenties-early thirties last night, and was out with a gal pal at a neighbourhood straight joynt. I had a beautiful woman hit on me equally relentlessly at a Halloween party this past Saturday.

This is very silly op. If anything gay men take better care of themselves in their 30 's or 40s than straight men.. Maybe you are just not noticing them.

In general, I think a fit 40+ guy can’t compete against an average guy in his 20’s. I’m not talking about the great looking ones obviously..

And as far as staying home more often, I have found alot of restaurants and public places are now "kid or family centric ".

R74 I'm not consciously attempting to compete with the twenty-something set, yet they honestly seek me out regularly. I prefer at least thirties-fifties personally, but have found it hard to turn some of them down.

A couple years ago I was at a meeting about prep. It was at a bar and it was pretty packed with mostly guys in their 50’s and 60’s, and they were all fucking like rabbits and had all kinds of questions about prep and what insurance should pay, and so on. They were all having WAY more sex than me so it didn’t seem to make much difference that they had “let themselves go.”
