How many years did you do meth?
I tried meth for the first time in 2001. I had recently moved to NYC and was sexually bored. I heard about meth and sought it out. I met an older guy online who became an FB who introduced me to it.
I loved it at first--it made me feel like such a sexual being. Thankfully, that guy also happened to be such a sweet, warm man. He was adamant about using condoms when he fucked me (it was meth that made me start and crave bottoming). He introduced me to how wonderful sex could be. I did meth monthly for about a year. I had sex with tons of men--often 10-20 over a weekend. It would start with one man on Friday and end at the bathhouse on Sunday.
After about a year, I started getting bored of it and did it less and less. The disastrous effects of the drug were hitting the gay community, and it became less acceptable and less available. Fewer and fewer gays seemed to do it. I kept meeting crazier and crazier people for hookups--plus the meth was getting weaker.
I just stopped cold turkey because it wasn't worth it any more. Each sexual experience was just terrible and that was the whole point. I also met a long term bf who didn't do meth so that prevented me from wanting to go back to it. I stopped for over a decade.
Newly single, a few years back, during a hookup, a guy offered it and I thought, why not? It was a fun weekend that brought back memories of past meth days, but there was no way I was going to make this a habit again. I'd seen too many of my friends become so addicted that it affected their lives deeply. Thankfully, I escaped most of that.
What I have done over the last 3-4 years is to have one meth weekend a year. I have a ton of fun, have sex with tons of guys, and then go through the horrible hangover the next week. I find that manageable without meth taking over my life. It is interesting how meet many men those weekends who obviously do it constantly. It reminds me how it can take over lives. But, I also get to fulfill sexual fantasies I doubt I would ever do sober.
I only get fucked with condoms (and yes, there are meth guys who get hard on the stuff and use condoms, thankfully) and have never gotten any disease. I hope this is sustainable until I get bored or find a new partner.
What's your meth story?

I have a fuckbud who does meth regularly. I do not and have not ever used the stuff. He gets completely unhinged sexually when he's high, obsessed with porn, jacking off, crazy sexual fantasies, unremittingly hypersexual. I find his behavior simultaneously funny and unnerving. He is not interested in safe sex or screening his partners carefully when high. This has led to occasional trouble for him.
I've also run into guys who were tweeking when I met up with them for sex. It's usually similar to my bud. They're sorta out of control, often sweaty, rambling, and have strange issues with dim lighting and loud music. The sex is usually good, but I realize it's because they're high and it detracts some from the experience.

I tried meth twice, with the same guy, an Asian pediatrician with a huge dick.
I didn't like it.
Meth made it hard for me to get erect but desperately want to cum, which doesn't work well when you're mostly a top.
No thanks, not for me; I was always more of a pot-head, back when I did drugs on a regular basis.

I tried it and hated it. The high was not good and the after effect sucked. One day I met a guy on grindr and he said I should butt chug it (shooting a syringe full in the rectum). I did it and holy fuck the high was incredible. The sex on it was so hot. After the come down, I realized I would be out of control on it if I ever did it again like that. So not since I was 23 (about 10 years ago).
I watched a porn of a guy slamming it for the first time. I would NEVER do it but the high looked so intense it made me curious but I hate needles.

I've never done it but have been considering some rough trade who I know smokes it daily. My instincts say no, but he has a fantastic body and I really want to fuck him while concentrating on his prostate and playing with his nipples. (seriously, I've had the scenario going on in my head for what I want to do with him for months. But then I hear that men have a hard time having orgasm on it. so I don't know if I could give him a great orgasm, and I feel like a failure if a guy doesn't have an orgasm that takes at least 10 minutes to recover from.

Been using recreationally for 20+ years. These days my long-term bf and I will have a big weekend every 8-10 weeks. We'll clear all plans, stock up on supplies (electrolyte drinks, banana smoothie ingredients, lube, weed, sleeping aids) and literally spend the entire weekend fucking each other senseless (with a few hours sleep in there somewhere). It takes days to recover but it's absolutely worth it, and it's been good for our relationship. We've both seen plenty of what out-of-control meth use does to people, so we're careful to keep it occasional. Scold away!

Good lord. I was a sex addict for years—until I started drinking kratom (which kills much of your sex drive) and started a long term relationship. I don’t think I would have needed meth to enhance my sexual appetite or my pleasure. Seriously, I was *driven* to cruise for dick. Total slut. Would spend a couple hours every day, at least, trying to get off with the hottest guy I could.
I’ve never done meth because the comedown sounds awful, I’m scared of harder drugs, and I’m sure I would turn into an addict almost immediately. Scary.

It’s one of those drugs like heroin where I say “why”. The rest of your life you have an image of something that pursuing will kill you and/or ruin your life. Grateful that I’ve never tired. Did coke in my 20s and could see getting hooked on that. Can’t imagine meth. And alcohol is a dangerous enough drug to play with. Pot really is the best thing going.

Gays are so fucked, they'll trade in health, wellness and their lives for "hot sex" while high on adulterated street drugs made with cold medicine, lye, and battery chemicals in a dirty bucket by toothless criminals. Nope, not poz r27 . This'll make you clutch so hard your head will fall off but guess what? Most meth users are heterosexual. And guess what else? Lots of people manage to use illicit drugs and keep their shit together. I'm willing to bet I'm in better health than you are. The trouble with US drug 'education' strategies is that when people discover that they aren't turned into drooling, criminal addicts after trying a given drug once, they then disregard all of the other panic-merchant bullshit they're told about drug use. People use drugs - always have, always will - and telling them to 'just say no' works as well now as it did when Nancy tried it in the 80. Your poz-shaming bullshit shows how clueless you are, but thanks for sharing anyway...

To each their own, but I never found the meth "high" all that amazing. Strangely enough, it is over-hyped IMO. Cocaine is far better IMO. Meth just lasts a LOT, LOT, LOT longer - way too long. As for sex - YES, you get very horny at various stages of the high - which can be fun or just really annoying. As a top, you really need to know when you will and when you will not get hard, because it will drive you insane otherwise. As for the hangover - I have no idea how people can do this stuff on a daily basis. The 2 day hangover is HELL. I have not tried heroine as I am not a fan of opiates in general (not to mention that I have no interest in injecting anything ever..), but I assume that it must be more exciting than tina. Also, it is far more deadly. At least very few seem to overdose on meth.

I used to be a “try anything” gayling in my 20s after a lifetime of being told everything I thought and did was wrong. I got through that ok to realize the distinctions between what was truly good or bad for me - and not what society or religion told me. But really grateful that heroin and meth were not available easily. As much as I understand the desire to try it, they are drugs that my logical risk/reward instinct always made me avoid.
At 42, I’m really grateful that I never experienced sex on meth or the bliss of heroin. I’ve learned emotional short cuts don’t provide true happiness and the repercussions are life-changing and will forever affect your view of true human emotions. When I’m in extreme pain or dying of cancer, I’ll be happy to do it. But in the meantime, trying to figure out how to be happy - or at least not unhappy - with the power of my natural mind.

I work in HR for a major bank in Manhattan and am active in the gay chorus world. I have been through so much with meth over the last decade and have lost boyfriends I really cared about who came home to find me shacked up with strangers in bed surrounded by pipes. So far no one at my job really has figured it out. I live in fear that they will. I have been able to mostly control my binges to long weekends or Easter vacations where I can go back to my family in Racine and recoup in private. I know this is classic dry drunk behavior and my controlling checklist/micromanaging personality is just compensation. will end badly but meth gives me the hugs I crave. And my dental bills are outlandish...

My friend on year 14 of his meth habit has lost his teeth but kept his bf and good, corporate job. His teeth got horrendous quickly and I just don't get how he was able to work with shit brown teeth that smelled of shit from far away.
Drugs can be fun like drinking can be fun. It is an intense, euphoric feeling but I don't see how anyone can do hard drugs daily or weekly. The come down is terrible. They don't make good drugs anymore. I tried crack when I was 21 because I was depressed and wanted out of life. I thought I would become addicted instantly and, though I liked it, the come down prevented me from doing it except a few more times that year. When I was 29, I tried it again with a boyfriend and it was good but nothing like it was when I was 21. Never felt the urge to try it again. Did coke some but again, come down sucks and gave me sinus issues for weeks. No thanks!

I actually started with iv meth because I’m a phlebotomist and have no problem injecting myself, and have easy access to clean syringes etc. from needle exchange. I couldn’t stand the taste of smoked meth (usually the pipes are burnt which makes it taste nasty). Booty bumps gave me the shits of death after an hour or so.
I don’t like the days of staying awKe, plus that great initial rush quickly goes away in the first day as the serotonin dopamine is depleted. I actually don’t consider myself addicted per se...just used for about 6 months and already bored with the effects. Can’t get hard, can’t cum, disrupts normal sleep/eat/drink pattern. Don’t really see the use of it, because I just get hyper focused on porn and become really chatty. I’ve gotten nearly psychotic from sleep deprivation (I start making weird noises and swore I made up my own African language - I KNOW!)
I’ve looked at meth use forums and most say that pot is much better and lasts longer. I have to agree, and have switched over. A couple of times I’ve missed the vein and you can’t even believe the welts and necrotic skin that develops at the site of injection.

One more thing here...I’ve really learned quite a lot about the underground meth world and have discovered there’s a willing segment of doctors and nurses which are willing to administer IV to people too scared to inject themselves. Going rate is around $25, especially for the neck, which to me is a SUPER no go area. It’s eye-opening and NOT pretty at all.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | November 1, 2018 1:36 AM

Winding it down--I thought phlebotomists never missed. Seriously, I knew a meth addict, only used the needle but was scared to use it on himself. When his Meth Momma used to throw him out, he'd come to me to shoot him up. A shot that should have given him a rush didn't affect him. Apparently, his brain had stopped producing dopamine.
Along with seratonin and norepenephrine, dopamine is a mood enhancer. It is the stuff that makes you happy. When it is not present in the brain, no mood can eventually turn into depression, unless you stay numb enough. Same with the ones that don't want to have a comedown. These people who binge are the ones who can do permanent damage to themselves.
Of those who begin using drugs from mid-teens to mid-twenties, 70% will find better choices in life and leave drug use by the time they are 30 on their own without therapy. The other 30% just keep going deeper into the rabbit hole. While Party 'n Play is common with gays, many keep it to that, doing it only on weekends and giving the body a break from the drug, which is critical to surviving it.

I met a guy last year I was so hot for. Black Irish coloring, beard, gorgeous hairy chest. I fell so hard so fast. He "worked a lot" so we spent two or three nights a week together, nothing more, but he was such a loving, funny guy that I got hooked. Occasionally, he was a little erratic in his behavior but we drank a lot so I figured it was that. Then someone who knew his ex clued me in. All the nights we were apart, he was high on meth and whoring around. I saw his Scruff profile, his Grindr profile and all the others. He was always looking for sex. When I confronted him, he told me he had been doing meth for 11 years. I was amazed he was able to be in such good shape, but he confessed he had used to have a lot more muscle mass, and showed me how some teeth were loose. He also said he'd always used condoms when he had sex with other people, so I wasn't at risk. I wasn't relieved. I guess because I had remained calm during this talk, he thought we were going to stay together. Wrong. We were over. In the past six months, he's gone from sales job to sales job. I've heard he looks even thinner now and lost one of his front teeth. I'm afraid that he seems to be sliding down a long, dark slope but he's had lots of chances to give the meth up and hasn't. That's the one relationship in his life that has endured.

r80 You missed my point. I don't see how someone gets to the point of addiction. Like I said, the high is great but the after effects are horrible. I can't see how someone could do it enough to become addicted. When I experimented, I could not fathom doing it even semi-regularly.
I had to take pain meds for 3 years before and after surgery on my back. They were great but the constipation and other side effects made me quit them as soon as I didn't need them for pain. Even after taking them for so long, I tapered off of them within 2 months with no craving to take them again.

What can you say about a thirty-two-year-old man who died? That he was beautiful and brilliant? That he loved Mozart and Bach, the Beatles, and me?

I spent 5 years writing Harm Reduction articles--if you're going to be using meth, then know how to take care of yourself-- to keep people alive until they wanted to quit. Also, recreational use is possible without becoming addicted. If you are interested in keeping that comedown tolerable, how to reduce the effects of dry mouth and other preventive tips, then Google The Meth Medicine Cabinet. I wrote over 900 entries for drugs-forum on how to understand the drug, scientific knowledge and reactions, without being judgmental.

R91, sounds great, but the website requires login and is begging for money from new members, promising "faster approval for donors." Not a good casual link.

Have never done it at all -- it is time to start? Maybe I will if the Repugnicans don't lose the House. At which point we're all doomed anyway.

[quote]How many years did you do meth?
That's a loaded question, like "When was the last time you beat your dog?"
I only smokes reefer.

[R94] Sorry for the inconvenience on getting into drugs-forum. It's something new. I'm always logged in and didn't know about it.

I hate that smell that comes out of meth users' pores. It is vile, VILE, VILE! It makes me sick to my stomach. The aggressive, vacant eyes on top of that God awful smell...no thanks!
