WTF! Paging Law n Order
Nothing taken, no signs of forced entry. Might very well be someone she knew. Romance gone wrong? Family or friend?

What a horrible way to die!
Um.... does this mean her apartment is available? I mean, NOTHING ever opens up on West End Avenue.

Okay, Dataloungers, let's get on it!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 22, 2018 2:13 AM |
Rent controlled, landlord.

She'll laugh no more at my half-inch of fury.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 22, 2018 2:19 AM |
it's a coop bldg so no rent control.. full time doorman so they should know who went up to the apt.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 22, 2018 2:29 AM |
"elderly"? a girl of mere 70?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 22, 2018 2:31 AM |
The grandson did it...if there is a grandson
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 22, 2018 2:31 AM |
if she had money, maybe a trustafarian ingrate, like the one who popped his poppa on beekman place a few years ago
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 22, 2018 2:34 AM |
Meh. She was old and she would have died anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 22, 2018 2:44 AM |
True, but she was a blonde.
Blonde lives matter!
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 22, 2018 5:00 AM |
[quote]does this mean her apartment is available?
There are already 3 apartments for sale in the building and one under contract but who knows if that one will actually sell. This is not good publicity for the building considering that there are literally thousands of apartments on the market in NYC right now.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 22, 2018 5:28 AM |
Was she recently visited by a student at Hudson University? If so, that’s your killer.
Next!
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 22, 2018 5:33 AM |
Enough with the black hole links. No photo. No summary. No nothing.
You are fucking annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 22, 2018 5:33 AM |
R14, the link works. Who the fuck r u to come at the OP that way.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 22, 2018 5:38 AM |
I'll come at the OP any fucking way I want, bitch. Who the fuck are you, R15?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 22, 2018 5:45 AM |
Sketchy neighborhood, happens all the time.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 22, 2018 5:47 AM |
May she RIP. She was a good girl.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 22, 2018 5:48 AM |
Lenny Briscoe would have had this solved by now.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 22, 2018 12:40 PM |
Dear rude cunts (R14, etc) who are too fucking stupid to open links properly on DL. There is a simple fix to YOUR problem but I am not going to explain it because you are so fucking rude. Ask nicely and maybe I'll tell you what 95 percent of us already know.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 22, 2018 7:17 PM |
Police are focusing on a female resident of the building.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 22, 2018 11:37 PM |
Max and Mike, Phil and Mike, Lenny and Mike, Rey and Lenny, Ed and Lenny, etc... I can't remember all of their names - who would solve it first?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 23, 2018 12:18 AM |
My friend lives in that building. Holy shit.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 23, 2018 12:31 AM |
[quote] Sketchy neighborhood, happens all the time.
Agree. Bad area of UWS.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 23, 2018 1:58 AM |
Local evening news here in NYC saying cops have a primary POI, whom they have been interrogating, a female neighbor in the same building. Sources saying no signs of forced entry and nothing taken, so likely someone she knew.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 23, 2018 6:07 AM |
Ultimate lesbian drama or victim slept with the wrong husband? I know she was 70 but evidently still attractive and active for a woman of her age.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 23, 2018 6:27 AM |
Also, cops saying blood evidence in living room suggested signs of a struggle there and they followed a trail of blood from there to bedroom, where the victim was found dead with her throat cut.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 23, 2018 6:37 AM |
It's not easy to kill someone that way. Hard to believe the killer is another old lady.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 23, 2018 6:41 AM |
I don't do knives, so I don't know why you're looking at me.
Plus, she was old. If you don't nip it in the bud early on, it just too much trouble later on.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 23, 2018 6:49 AM |
It is a sketchy neighborhood I know I live a block away there are four homeless ex mental patients housed nrarby. I got mugged nearby last Friday
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 23, 2018 10:11 AM |
First thing that popped out to me (besides the use of the word “gore” which suggests more than blood; there wouldn’t be entrails or grey matter if it was just her throat that was cut), is that she was a twice-married childless animal rescue lady.
Those people are absolutely insane. And she’s described as “eccentric”? There you have it. She was one of those. Dollars to donuts the dead woman complained about how the killer was treating her dog. You cannot underestimate how these old ladies get about their animals.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 23, 2018 10:17 AM |
She was an animal advocate and used to spread bird seed around attracting pigeons and rats to the building. Per the NYC news last night, the victim liked to speak her mind. For someone to slit her throat there was intense personal hatred involved. Oh I think she was doing an animal rescue thing too.

Hey OP! It is NOT Law n Order! Jesus have you never seen the opening credits? The mothership of all L&O programs is titled Law & Order. I hope the ghosts of Claire and Borga, Max and Lenny haunt you through Halloween!
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 23, 2018 10:53 PM |
R23 You better call the police and tell them about your friend.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 23, 2018 11:00 PM |
BTW, here's the latest from the NY Times... cops are looking for a neighbor. I'll bet crazy bird seed throwing eccentric blond irritated one tenant just a bit too much and out came a blade and that was that. Still not a good way to go... seems kind of harsh.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 23, 2018 11:01 PM |
Doesn’t shit like that only happen in the Bronx??
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 23, 2018 11:51 PM |
R30: I know it's not funny, but your comment made me laugh...
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 23, 2018 11:55 PM |

Connection?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 24, 2018 12:18 AM |
Bump - any updates on which neighbor killed her?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 28, 2018 11:10 AM |
Almost every person I know who is involved heavily in the pet rescue scene is nuts. Sad, but true.
I betcha the victim called the cops and/or a government agency because she thought the murderer was abusing her pet(s), and/or kid(s).
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 28, 2018 11:29 AM |
R23, have you talked to your friend who lives there? What's up?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 28, 2018 11:42 AM |
Darn R42, you beat me to it! Here's my link from the NY Times... the big Law & Order question is why, WHY would a 24 yr old woman need to slachs the throat of a 70 yr old neighbor?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 31, 2018 9:45 PM |
Christmas has come early this year!
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 31, 2018 9:47 PM |
R33, a friend of mine kept making SVU references to this case, I told him "no". There's no sexual assault - why would Olivia care some old woman's throat was slashed? If there was a sapphic angle, maybe Olivia would follow, but right now this is strictly Lenny Briscoe territory.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 31, 2018 11:08 PM |
LOL R44--spot on.
And R43 -- the killer's mental illness was described in very polite NY Times terms. She was likely schizophrenic and then some and wind up in a psychiatric prison ward for life since her well off parents will get a good lawyer.
