I just watched it. I was always convinced Billy is on the spectrum since he is not just clueless but oblivious to everything going on around him. The drop dead gorgeous Brad Rowe clearly tries to get close to him several times and Billy rebuffs him every time. Fucking pisses me off. He has no idea his friend was in love with him or had a crush on him. At least at the end of the movie he finally has a chance with a new hottie but he probably fucked that up, too. I love Brad Rowe. Great actor. But Sean Hayes was mostly annoying.

Brad Rowe is a very underrated actor. He should have been popular. I wonder if his connection with Wes Bentley kept people from hiring him.
He’s also very smart. He has a Masters in Public Policy and is a very busy consultant.

The best thing was that 20 years ago, people didn't blame "being on the spectrum" or autism for bad social skills, bad manners, obliviousness, and self-absorption.
Nor did every armchair psychologist think they were qualified to make clinical assessments about people.
Oh, and it was a movie, so the character behaved as the screenwriter and director wanted.
