r1 I wonder if there is an older boyfriend whom the parents disapproved of. I just can't see a 13-year-old acting alone in a double murder.

by Anonymousreply 5October 17, 2018 9:46 PM

R3 Are you being serious right now?I think you need to apologise. If not for the missing kids then at least for your own karma

by Anonymousreply 6October 17, 2018 9:49 PM

That’s what happened in the Jasmine Richardson case r5, so it’s definitly not unheard of. I think this poor girl was abducted though.

by Anonymousreply 12October 17, 2018 10:00 PM

Hmm, someone killed them to get to her? Remember that guy who killed an entire family to get the little girl? He took her brother too but quickly raped and killed him at the camp site.

by Anonymousreply 13October 17, 2018 10:07 PM

R12 Nope .But glad you have lots of time on your hands

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2018 10:07 PM

Something is off about her looks, I can’t pinpoint what it is about her that makes me think she killed them and ran off with her lover.

by Anonymousreply 20October 17, 2018 10:52 PM

Who would want to kidnap her? She’s a 3, at best. Maybe if she was an 8 or a 10, but girls like her are a dime a dozen

by Anonymousreply 21October 18, 2018 12:57 AM

Worried that this is going to be political fodder, depending on the suspect.

by Anonymousreply 29October 18, 2018 5:06 PM

Hope she’s not involved but she is at that vulnerable age where she can be easily influenced.

by Anonymousreply 30October 18, 2018 5:32 PM

It's almost always a family member or someone who knew/knows the victims. Occam's Razor says the daughter did it or her cray cray boyfriend.

by Anonymousreply 31October 18, 2018 5:37 PM

They know whose cell phone made the 911 call, but aren't releasing it. My guess is some internet creep "boyfriend".

There’s no way a 13 year old girl committed a double murder and escaped this long. 13 year olds can’t drive. She would have to walk or take public transportation without an older person being involved to drive.

Either she and an older man committed the crime together or a man did it alone to kidnap her. Listening to her family talk though it sounds like she was involved.

by Anonymousreply 37October 18, 2018 8:09 PM

I think she pulled a Gypsy Blanchard number; enlisted some guy to kill her parents and then ran off with him. That picture of her gives me the creeps. She even looks like a psycho.

by Anonymousreply 38October 18, 2018 8:16 PM

I'd forgotten about that case, r38. So messed up, on so many levels.

by Anonymousreply 39October 18, 2018 10:38 PM

She killed them.

by Anonymousreply 40October 18, 2018 10:43 PM

r40 = Nancy Grace

by Anonymousreply 41October 18, 2018 10:56 PM

I'm going to bet it's another case of the girl getting an older boyfriend and conspiring to kill her parents so that they can be together.

by Anonymousreply 42October 18, 2018 10:57 PM

Of course she was involved. She'll end up trying to play the innocent victim even though she's running around with the internet older boyfriend right now.

by Anonymousreply 43October 18, 2018 11:04 PM

She was either involved or an abductor targeted her. That is how the Cheshire Connecticut family was targeted. He saw the younger daughter with the mom in the supermarket and followed them home. He was besotted by the young girl. Scary world we live in.

by Anonymousreply 48October 18, 2018 11:42 PM

I think her parents were very overprotective. Every photo of her she looks shy and crouched down as if she's afraid or extremely shy. My theory is she developed an online relationship with a "boyfriend" who turned out to be a pedophile and in her naivete she gave him her address and he came a huntin'.

by Anonymousreply 49October 18, 2018 11:47 PM

I bet R49 is correct, and I think there's also a good chance that she was catfished by some adult creep posing as a 14-year-old boy.

by Anonymousreply 58October 19, 2018 1:45 PM

I grew up in Chippewa County. Lots of farms. Lots of rednecks, lots of church goers. It's a boozy culture and it always seemed like time stopped in the 1980s, but the arrival of the internet and meth changed that a bit. Very Republican too.

by Anonymousreply 59October 19, 2018 2:52 PM

I bet it's some 40 something fat tub of lard whi probably ingratiated himself into the family just to creep on her. I notice one such guy commented in one if her pictures on her fb page, "She's a,lovely young lady" or something. Barf. What grown man looks at a 13 year old's fb page?

I grew up in neighboring Eau Claire County. Your assessment sounds accurate to me. My guess on this story is a pedo murdered/abductor did it, maybe somebody the girl knew vaguely whom she'd been friendly/polite to and he cooked up a whole story in his mind of how he was destined to be her boyfriend if he could just get the pesky parents out of the way.

From CNN:

[quote]A sheriff's department dispatch log reveals new information about the night that missing Wisconsin teenager Jayme Closs' parents were found dead -- including that a 911 call appeared to have come from her mother's cell phone, and that the door to the family's home had been kicked in.

I wonder what the authorities know that they're not telling.

by Anonymousreply 68October 20, 2018 2:11 PM

It’s sounding more and more like an ambush abduction. From what the police have said, someone was trying to enter through the front door of the Closs house. The father was shot in the face either while answering the door or trying to keep it closed as the door was at some point kicked in. The mom was elsewhere in the house, maybe trying to hide, and at some point was also shot. Neighbors heard gunshots at 1230am. At around 1250 is when the 911 call happened— no one spoke, but the operator said they could hear noise on the other end, possibly yelling. There’s an unconfirmed rumor that the mom was heard saying “Please don’t hurt my daughter.”

by Anonymousreply 69October 20, 2018 2:23 PM

I hope they know more than the nothing I fear...

I also hope that the kid had nothing to do with it. Some of the photos are a bit eerie but it is an awkward age. Do not really expect her to be found alive, sadly.

Does anyone think she acted alone?

This story is so strange.

by Anonymousreply 82October 21, 2018 1:22 PM

I think DM misinterpreted the logs. Here’s the transcript:

[quote]115 – 10/15/2018 01:05:19] 317 REQUESTED ERT BE PAGED OUT. ADVISED THE DOOR HAS BEEN KICKED IN. ADVISED THAT THE MALE WHO IS DOWN HAD ANSWERED THE DOOR. UNKNOWN IF ANYONE IS MISSING.

Since it says the dad was down, it sounds like he was down after approaching the door when the perp was trying to get in, not when the cops arrived — “had” answered the door. Typical Fail.

by Anonymousreply 83October 21, 2018 2:06 PM

R60 is probably correct. Some over 40 obsessed loser (repetative, I know) who saw her as his soulmate or 'belonging' to him.

He'll end up being more genetic trash that should have been aborted.

by Anonymousreply 84October 21, 2018 2:16 PM

How would they know he had answered the door if he was dead? Agree that DM got it wrong but the writing of the cops is less than clear and somewhat speculative, too.

Wonder if we will ever know the whole story?

by Anonymousreply 85October 21, 2018 2:59 PM

Remember, the transcript is of a call or event happening in real time. Sometimes the info being relayed is just a cursory assessment of the scene at that moment.

by Anonymousreply 86October 21, 2018 3:02 PM

Good point, R86.

by Anonymousreply 87October 21, 2018 3:04 PM

A 13-year-old girl almost certainly has a cell phone...either the police have it, which should be revealing if she had some sort of relationship with the person who did it, or she took it with her, which suggests she went willingly with a co-conspirator (or there's something on the phone he doesn't want the police to see, although I think they can get a record of calls and messages from the provider anyway). Surely the police have searched through her phone and any computers to see who she was communicating with and what about? I sort of feel like they must know some things they're holding back, yet now they're requesting 2000 volunteers to search the local area AND there are missing signs all over far flung states, which makes me think they really have no clue where she is. I guess it's theoretically possible that some creep really wanted to kidnap her and decided to do it the hard way instead of luring her when she was alone, but the whole thing is strange and confusing. The police insist she's a victim and not a suspect; on the one hand they might be lying so that she's more likely to return, but on the other hand, wouldn't they want to warn the public if she could be dangerous?

Ugh, Valessa is as ugly as her name and that hubby is no prize either.

by Anonymousreply 115October 28, 2018 7:46 AM

She looks like someone a pedo would target.

by Anonymousreply 116October 28, 2018 11:24 AM

I know what happened, she wanted to go to the big city, say, Minneapolis but her mother wouldn't let her go, so her other friends, a rich girl, a fat Jewish girl and a lesbian went without her. So she sneaks off but it's cold, so she goes into a Minneapolis cafe where another 13 tries to lure her into prostitution, because her pimps forcing her too.

But then by coincidence, the three friends show up at the same cafe and take her home. The pimp is now pissed because he didn't get no fresh thing, so he follows her home and kills the parents and kidnaps her.

by Anonymousreply 117October 28, 2018 11:39 AM

Those are some dead Jared Kushner eyes on Valessa.

by Anonymousreply 118October 28, 2018 12:58 PM

That Valessa looks 58 instead of 32. How is she out of jail? The third person in the crime got more time than she did, but she seemed to be more directly involved in killing her mother. Much like Karla Homolka the women seem to get away with murder, literally. It's usually their idea too! Similarly, I can't believe both found big enough morons to marry and father children with them.

by Anonymousreply 119October 28, 2018 3:01 PM

I dislike Karla Homolka as much as the next person, r119, but Paul Bernardo was a serial rapist long before he met Karla. She got off too easy, sure -- but he's exactly where he belongs

by Anonymousreply 120October 28, 2018 4:17 PM

R12- Oh, no doubt he is where he belongs, but she should be there too. Yes, he was a rapist, but his crimes escalated because of her. Drugging and raping her sister was Karla's idea, a "present" for Bernardo. She was as twisted as he was. Same with this girl, she should have gotten the same sentence as her boyfriend.

by Anonymousreply 121October 28, 2018 4:36 PM

Karla got off on a technicality that NEVER should have happened. Blame the incompetence of the police and prosecutors for that one.

Canada has a rather shit record when it comes to incarceration. Vince Li, the man who decaptitaed and cannibalized Tim McLean on a Greyhound bus, has since been released after only nine years in a psych ward- and for most of that time he was allowed daily supervised and unsupervised release. He’s now been allowed to change his name and isn’t required to continue mental health treatment or take meds for his schizophrenia. His crime might as well not have happened. Same for Homolka if the public hasn’t been able to diss out her new identity.

by Anonymousreply 122October 28, 2018 4:48 PM

I wonder if Luka Magnotta will ever get out, r122

by Anonymousreply 123October 28, 2018 5:01 PM

[quote]She looks like someone a pedo would target.

A hebephile, not a pedophile.

by Anonymousreply 124October 28, 2018 6:59 PM

Yes, please pay attention to your wording. It is a tragedy when careless internet posters besmirch the reputation of people who have sex with thirteen year olds, e.g. hebephiles. We are NOT pedos!

by Anonymousreply 125October 28, 2018 7:03 PM

Are you fucking smoking crack r121? I don't care what Karla the Kunt said, no one would be able to talk me into murdering someone. Also, it was a matter of time, look at EAR/ONS they start killing soon to leave no witnesses, Kunt's sister may have lived but Paul would have killed eventually. Nice woman blaming, though.

by Anonymousreply 126October 28, 2018 8:58 PM

R126- you are an idiot. You do realize Karla worked for a veterinarian and stole a sedative to knock her sister out, so she basically murdered her own sister so that she and her boyfriend could rape her. She also actively covered up the death as well. That was all her plotting on her own. Whether Paul would have murdered or not is all speculation and irrelevant, they both were equally complicit in all crimes and should have both been sentenced the same way. They didn't realize the extent of their involvement until after she cut a deal. You should really read up on the story before you spew nonsense. The experts even said without Karla, Paul would have likely not escalated his crimes. Btw, I am a woman, nice try though. I don't defend child murderers or any murderer because they happen to be female. Evil is evil.

by Anonymousreply 127October 28, 2018 9:51 PM

I am also from northwest Wisconsin and over the last year there were a number of police arrests of older guys trying to pick up young teenage girls. It was so common, like two a month. Some of the older guys were really nasty looking . Some were from Barron County where this happened. The guys made their contacts on the internet with the girls. The police set up stings and caught many of them but there must be many more out there. The number of sex offenders (listed) in the area is astounding. Some young girls feel they need a boyfriend because they see other girls with bf's in high school so they go online to find male attention. Then they hook up with the wrong guy and bang, it's all over. The innocent and naive.

by Anonymousreply 128October 28, 2018 9:52 PM

I’m not r126, but to your post r127– Paul and Karla were married, not boyfriend/girlfriend.

[quote]The experts even said without Karla, Paul would have likely not escalated his crimes.

Paul is a suspect in at least one murder , Elizabeth Bain, that occurred prior to even meeting Karla. Paul was a violent serial rapist. He, like 99% of other violent serial rapists, would’ve escalated. With or without Karla.

by Anonymousreply 129October 28, 2018 10:34 PM

R129- At the time of the sister's death they were engaged, they married a few weeks later. My original point remains, they are BOTH murderers and she should have never seen the outside of a jail cell.

by Anonymousreply 130October 28, 2018 11:01 PM

I’d have to guess that she’s been sheltered and finally got some older dude interested in her. The neighbors said they never saw the Closs family outdoors, ever. It made me wonder what that poor kid’s life was like. Makes me think of the Blanchardes.

Jesus, r141. That’s frightening.

R137, I wonder that, too. Judging from photos, the mom wore a lot of makeup and Jayme wore things like shorts and spaghetti straps and sequins; not “modest” the way many religious women appear.

There’s something “off” about that family. The neighbor who heard the gunshots said they never saw the family outside and just saw Jayme walking to the house from the school bus.

At any rate, something terrible happened and I hope that kid is okay.

I love webslueths and how the fraus are going on about how breathtaking Jayme is and how she was sold into sexual slavery because of her stunning beauty...

She's dead or was in on it someway. The killer took her to use as a hostage, then after he got away killed her and probably dumped the body way North. OR

Jayme was in love with the guy and he came to get her, with her knowledge, and the father discovered it and they argued and it got out of hand and the guy shot the mother and father, which Jayme wasn't in on. Now Jayme went with him (willingly) or was again, taken as a hostage

R172, she just has a weird “affect” in the photos. I don’t know anything for sure, I’ve never seen her in anything but still photos. I’d guess that she was a little bit autistic, or at least an oddball kid (I’ve got an oddball kid, I recognize it). She just doesn’t look like a normal 13-year old girl.

And not to be a shit, but her mother looks like a horrorshow. I feel like there was a lot going on there.

What’s the Indiana bridge story? Sounds fun.

Some days I really wish Robert Stack were still alive.

by Anonymousreply 180November 9, 2018 5:17 AM

The Indiana Bridge = Delphi Murders. The thing is one of the murdered teenagers managed to record the killer (or at least whom they are pretty sure is the killer) with her cell phone. The police has audio and video of him, but it still hasn't helped at all.

by Anonymousreply 181November 9, 2018 6:26 AM

Closs was assumed to be taken alive, because there is no evidence she was killed at the home, and if they killed the mother and father, why not take the kid. And if you killed the girl, why drag her away?

She is almost certainly dead by now, unless she somehow had a hand in the murder, which isn't likely but not impossible either.

[quote]I’d guess that she was a little bit autistic, or at least an oddball kid (I’ve got an oddball kid, I recognize it). She just doesn’t look like a normal 13-year old girl.

She is by all accounts 'normal,' in terms of grades and social skills. She ran cross country and is involved in dance classes. The only thing that is "off" about her is her mother was described as being overprotective.

For instance, she had a caregiver (babysitter) and she is 13 years old. Which is starting to get a bit old for one, but not unheard of. In fact the parents recently changed Jayme's school, when her caregiver moved so Jayme would be closer to her.

Both parents worked at the Jenny-O plant not far from where they lived.

Is there DNA found at the scene?

S) No Comment

Can you comment on evidence collected?

S)No Comment

Was there a sex assault during this invasion?

S)No comment

Rumors of Jayme having 19 year old boyfriend true?

S)Can't comment on that

What is the damage to the chair?

S)No comment on the evidence

Will you release toxicology results from autopsies?

S)We will when the case is ready to be released, we won't release evidence on the bodies, or the shootings or where they were shot. Toxicology takes longer to get back in yet, takes longer to get in and haven't been briefed on that.

Has the whole family including extended family been cleared?

S)Family has been interviewed and cooperating

How long parents deceased?

S)Commotion on phone, 4 minutes later deputies on scene, they were deceased

Why aren't they releasing 911 call?

Good question, that's part of the active investigation I don't think it would help, I think it would put more questions in people's mind .it is poor quality, not from the technical side but poor quality because wherever the phone was in the house was a distance away from , like me doing this interview from in the hallway, you could hear me but you couldn't really hear me.so that's what I mean. Autopsy and 911 calls won't be released until crime is solved

Still missing? I bet the killer worked with the parents at Jennie-O and they put Jayme in the meat grinder with the turkeys and that is what caused the salmonella recall.

by Anonymousreply 212November 24, 2018 10:49 AM

This murder might be hard to solve if it was a case of mistaken identity. The famous murders of In Cold Blood, where a family of parents and children was murdered, was also due to mistaken identity. For instance, if a hit was ordered due to drug activity and the killer got the wrong house, the killer might have had to finish what he started. While he was killing the parents, Jayme ran out the door and he ran after her to kill her, so she was killed away from the house and her body hid in the woods hasn't yet been found. I'm just speculating that there are also more than a few scenarios that don't involve kidnapping or Jayme being involved.

by Anonymousreply 213November 24, 2018 2:07 PM

That doesn't really make sense, r213. If she were killed near the house, and her body left in the woods, surely they'd have found her by now? I am sure they used cadaver dogs.

by Anonymousreply 214November 24, 2018 2:16 PM

Dogs are not all that accurate, in blind tests they run less 50%. This accounts for the reason why people are often found where dogs have gone over it. Of course the owners will swear the body was put there after, but it wasn't

by Anonymousreply 215November 28, 2018 5:08 PM

by Anonymousreply 216December 4, 2018 12:37 PM

by Anonymousreply 218December 5, 2018 3:07 AM

R249, More details from Websleuths.

Linked is Google Maps, the specific area where she approached a woman walking her dog and asked for help. Remember Jayme's dog is being looked after by her relatives.

FB posters 10 weeks ago reported KJ-A was likely involved. He's one of the suspects booked today for 2nd degree murder.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 255January 11, 2019 2:40 AM

Wish DL had an erase/edit function. The 2 suspects I said were booked earlier may not be the perps.

LE made arrests at 5:00 pm. Question of booking time of the other two young adults. We think they were booked in WI after being questioned and interviewed.

Jayme was sent to the hospital where she was met by her aunt. Grandfather took the initial call from LE. Both were surprised and thrilled that she was found alive and relatively healthy.

by Anonymousreply 256January 11, 2019 2:47 AM

The murder happened in October and it's now January. If it's like a similar incident where a girl is being held captive in a basement and manages to break out and run for help, then I could believe that she's the victim and not part of the crime. But if that's not the case, then I think that ups the odds of her being involved.

by Anonymousreply 257January 11, 2019 2:54 AM

I seriously doubt the kidnapping and multiple murder suspect is being offered bail, R244

by Anonymousreply 259January 11, 2019 3:03 AM

So who wants to bet that she wasn’t involved in the murder?

Who wants to bet that she was?

All of you who end up having been wrong are going to be named and shamed.

by Anonymousreply 260January 11, 2019 3:46 AM

Her cousin

by Anonymousreply 261January 11, 2019 3:51 AM

Of course she was in on it but as she's a child, her family will have to "forgive" her for her involvement

by Anonymousreply 262January 11, 2019 3:59 AM

She was found malnourished, dirty with matted hair, and wearing shoes too big. Apparently she had been living in an abandoned cabin in a wooded area when she was finally able to escape and seek help.

by Anonymousreply 263January 11, 2019 4:26 AM

I don't think she was involved. I'll be surprised if it's someone under 40.

by Anonymousreply 264January 11, 2019 11:10 AM

Jamie Closs didn't know where she was when she approached the woman walking her dog, screaming for help. She did know who had her and gave a description of his car.

Jayme was found malnourished. Late Thursday, investigators blocked all streets leading to a cabin in the 14100 block of S. Eau Claire Acres Circle as they combed for evidence. The residence is believed to be that of the 21-year-old suspect, who is reportedly being held in the Douglas County jail.

by Anonymousreply 269January 11, 2019 12:36 PM

R269, You're correct, although thanks for the link. They're speculating on internet rumors re the perps name, "Peterson" or "Patterson." Sounds like he found an older cabin not in use during the winter. Obviously they didn't have a good source of running water as Jayme was dirty and her hair matted. Plus she was very thin, malnourished.

by Anonymousreply 270January 11, 2019 12:54 PM

I thought the outcome wouldn't be good here, but it's wonderful that she was found. I can't (or can, but unfathomable) imagine what this poor girl endured. Thank goodness she's alive.

by Anonymousreply 271January 11, 2019 1:10 PM

Parents murdered, girl disappears without her beloved dog. Internet concludes the 13 year old colluded in her parents’ death. Why? “It would make sense.”

The world truly is coming to an end.

by Anonymousreply 272January 11, 2019 1:54 PM

Christ those bitches are rabid on that thread R269, they're determined that she was in on it no matter what. This is why I'd never want a trial by jury.

by Anonymousreply 273January 11, 2019 2:00 PM

Have they named the suspect yet?

by Anonymousreply 274January 11, 2019 2:11 PM

Press conference at 10am Central Time

by Anonymousreply 275January 11, 2019 2:14 PM

Thanks r275

by Anonymousreply 276January 11, 2019 2:22 PM

She was involved.

by Anonymousreply 277January 11, 2019 2:34 PM

by Anonymousreply 278January 11, 2019 2:36 PM

I miss the days of Usenet. You would have leaks left and right and names, and no one could censor it because, well Usenet is like that. Too bad it dried up and now is only for illegal downloading and spam

by Anonymousreply 279January 11, 2019 2:36 PM

I really don't think she was involved.

by Anonymousreply 280January 11, 2019 2:42 PM

I wonder if this is a Gypsy Blanchard-type story?

by Anonymousreply 281January 11, 2019 2:45 PM

Another job for Scooby Nickole.

by Anonymousreply 282January 11, 2019 2:58 PM

Anybody got a link to the press conference?

by Anonymousreply 283January 11, 2019 2:59 PM

It's on CNN now. The sheriff is already calling it a team effort. She basically saved herself.

by Anonymousreply 284January 11, 2019 3:03 PM

Sheriff Thomas Dalbec looks like a Boston terrier.

by Anonymousreply 285January 11, 2019 3:04 PM

Jake Thomas Patterson... 21 years old.. the kidnapper.

by Anonymousreply 286January 11, 2019 3:05 PM

*Jacob* .. not Jake..

by Anonymousreply 287January 11, 2019 3:06 PM

21 years old? I am starting to think there's more to the story ...

by Anonymousreply 288January 11, 2019 3:06 PM

I might be jumping the gun, watching press conference on CNN... tried to google him.

by Anonymousreply 289January 11, 2019 3:07 PM

Didn’t this guy play Mr. Fantastic in the Fantastic Four? He got fat.

by Anonymousreply 290January 11, 2019 3:09 PM

I think her name is tremendous.

by Anonymousreply 291January 11, 2019 3:10 PM

Not Jacob. Jake... lol.

by Anonymousreply 292January 11, 2019 3:12 PM

Do those who blamed the victim for her own demise feel good right about now?

by Anonymousreply 293January 11, 2019 3:14 PM

Sheriff said the kidnapper took proactive steps to conceal his identity before the kidnapping. They said their was no prior contact between the suspect and the family at large (note how that might exclude Jayme)

by Anonymousreply 294January 11, 2019 3:16 PM

Sorry R293, we hate ourselves now. You were right as usual.

by Anonymousreply 295January 11, 2019 3:17 PM

This 21 year old outsmarted everyone and would not have been caught if the girl didn't save herself by escaping.

by Anonymousreply 296January 11, 2019 3:17 PM

Sadly some will never let that go R293, regardless of the evidence.

by Anonymousreply 297January 11, 2019 3:17 PM

[quote]They said their was no prior contact between the suspect and the family at large (note how that might exclude Jayme)

You are then suggesting, then, that Jayme was not part of her own family? What else are you trying to tell us without a scintilla of evidence? If you're going to try to be Jessica Fletcher, you need more chops.

by Anonymousreply 298January 11, 2019 3:26 PM

My guess is its similar to the CT case, where a random creeper latched onto a young girl and targeted the family to get to her.

by Anonymousreply 305January 11, 2019 3:38 PM

Odd how this guy could be smart and stupid all at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 306January 11, 2019 3:38 PM

by Anonymousreply 307January 11, 2019 3:38 PM

by Anonymousreply 311January 11, 2019 3:41 PM

That nerd committed double murder? Yeah, possible catfish, grooming situation if she was talking to him online which is very possible.

by Anonymousreply 312January 11, 2019 3:43 PM

He was unemployed, so you wonder who is supporting him? The strange thing is the way Jayme's family and law enforcement seemed to know she was still alive. If you look to their TV appearances, they are directed at Jayme to return home.

by Anonymousreply 313January 11, 2019 3:45 PM

They probably assumed he'd taken her for sexual purposes R313, so that he'd likely keep her alive for at least some period of time but would plan on killing her at some point. It is shocking that he kept her so long, which luckily was his downfall.

by Anonymousreply 314January 11, 2019 3:48 PM

[quote] He was unemployed, so you wonder who is supporting him?

He's only 21. His parents, most likely.

by Anonymousreply 315January 11, 2019 3:50 PM

A remarkable story. I'm hearing the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt song in my head ("Unbreakable! she's alive, damnit! It's a miracle Females are strong as hell").

I don't know how the fuck you recover from seeing your parents murdered, being abducted and (doubless) raped repeatedly for three months in a filthy cabin at age 13 by the world's creepiest 21 year old psycho. Thank god she broke out of there and saved herself. I hope she's provided with unlimited free therapy from top notch therapists for as long as she needs it.

by Anonymousreply 316January 11, 2019 3:53 PM

She wasn't that attractive. Of course, he's butt ugly.

by Anonymousreply 317January 11, 2019 3:53 PM

I'm reading from multiple news sources that she was his "intended target".

by Anonymousreply 318January 11, 2019 3:54 PM

This happens all the time in wars, and people do get over it.

And we don't know all that happened. Maybe she was in on it and they agreed he'd take the blame and she staged the rescue. Does seem pretty far fetched if he was clever enough to fool the cops, she could fool him.

by Anonymousreply 320January 11, 2019 3:57 PM

I'm faintly disappointed his last name wasn't Peterson or Petersen as was thought for a moment upthread, since those seem to be reserved for the shitbags of this world.

by Anonymousreply 321January 11, 2019 3:58 PM

He's 21? That's the oldest looking 21 year old I've ever seen. Mind you, she's the oldest looking 13 year old I've ever seen.

He looks like a random guy at a Trump rally.

by Anonymousreply 325January 11, 2019 4:04 PM

R281, I think it was something like that. Not that she plotted to have her parents KILLED, but she got in deeper than she intended and couldn’t find her way out of it. She’s a victim, 100%.

There are cases like this that make me wonder. Sometimes girls are so sheltered and live circumscribed lives that something dark and dangerous is preferable. So it seems exciting to go along with the bad boy, and then it gets REALLY dark and that’s where they are victims.

It’s a theme in books and movies.

by Anonymousreply 328January 11, 2019 4:37 PM

IKR, r272

I thought so too r305

by Anonymousreply 329January 11, 2019 4:41 PM

It's pretty clear she wasn't involved in the murders. How would her parents death be to her advantage? If she'd wanted to be with this man they'd have just run off together - how romantic to a 13 year old girl.

I suspect he killed the parents because they were an obstacle. Jayme said she couldn't be with him because of them either because she was using them as an excuse - she realised that the cute guy she was talking with over the Internet was, in reality, butt ugly/creepy or she was a good girl who didn't want to disappoint them

by Anonymousreply 330January 11, 2019 4:49 PM

by Anonymousreply 343January 11, 2019 6:46 PM

Poor girl. Not just the violent loss of her parents, which is horrifying enough, but having to be forced to do intimate things with that fug creeper for three months.

Definitely an incel. They're all total scumbags who should have been aborted.

by Anonymousreply 344January 11, 2019 7:05 PM

R342 Yeah that was Elizabeth's shitfuckcunt parents who did that public harp recital display bullshit to her. She had barely been back from her ordeal and they had her out in front of the cameras in a national broadcast all prettied up to show how she was still so virginal and sweet, complete with harp. The poor thing looked like a zombie, and all the makeup in the world couldn't hide the circles. I remember that so well and just being appalled. Yeah, MARY! Whatever.

by Anonymousreply 356January 11, 2019 8:40 PM

Well he doesn't look malnourished so I guess he wasn't sharing the food, creepy incel scum.

Elizabeth Smart said in her book she didn't get any therapy ....I hope this family has different views on therapy than the Smarts.

by Anonymousreply 357January 11, 2019 8:51 PM

Holy shit, really r357? No therapy? I hope she's had some since the book. She still looks not-all-there. Her parents should be in prison with the guy who kidnapped her.

by Anonymousreply 358January 11, 2019 8:53 PM

R356, Do you have a link for your quoted statement?

The company Jayme's parents worked at for 27 years issued a statement Friday saying Patterson was hired one day but quit the next Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald say unemployed Patterson 'planned his actions and took many steps to hide his identity'

by Anonymousreply 359January 11, 2019 8:54 PM

R357, R358, LDS followers strongly believe in "the power of prayer." Likely she would have talked extensively to Elders at her church, and tried to forgive the perp per their instructions. Also to trust in the Lord re her future life.

Personally I believe speaking out publicly as she's been on the lecture circuit, to try and help other victims of various extreme tragedies, may be a major part of her ongoing healing process. She's active in missing and exploited children groups and tries to assist their grieving families. In a sense she's attempting to give reason and meaning to suppressed emotional and physical pain and anxiety.

by Anonymousreply 360January 11, 2019 8:59 PM

People with low iqs or on the spectrum need to stop having kids.

by Anonymousreply 361January 11, 2019 9:01 PM

R360 That is true, they do. But there are licensed therapists who themselves are practicing Mormons. It isn't verboten by the Church to see a therapist. However, of course, the Smart family are better than the average Mormon *sarcasm*. It is heartening to see her work with others. She doesn't seem nearly as craven as her parents, though I do wonder if she is still under their thrall to a large extent.

by Anonymousreply 362January 11, 2019 9:04 PM

R359, it's blowing up on Reddit. One poster found the perp's brother's criminal record. Another poster has a friend who knows the perp's dad. And then there was a Reddit thread a few weeks ago (now removed) that had a poster calling himself "barronbowhunter" who was giving very detailed theories about the kidnapping, as well as talking about how young girls are the best to have sex with, and they're like expired milk once they turn 18. That creeped out enough people that they took screenshots and sent them to the cops, and the mods deleted that thread.

by Anonymousreply 366January 11, 2019 9:28 PM

R364, Wonder what happened in the perp's and his brother's life to make them such evil child predators. Incels on steroids? Exposure to the porn culture which in their minds convinces them that like Hollywood stars they too should have a harem of Playboy bunny types at their disposal?

Jeff Bezos should be thankful Jayme Closs' lucky escape is wiping his sex life expose off the internet. Incels are LOL that the wealthiest man in the world would choose such an overly plasticized-looking robot/doll. "A man with more money than sense."

by Anonymousreply 367January 11, 2019 9:29 PM

Sad that NO ONE is shocked its yet another loser who thinks he's owed something, so he has to take/kill/destroy someone else.

Fucking disgusting. Incels and those like them need to Heavens Gate themselves.

by Anonymousreply 368January 11, 2019 9:55 PM

R331, she escaped and came across a woman walking her dog. She asked the woman for help, and the woman recognized her as the missing girl. They went to a neighbor's house to call 911.

by Anonymousreply 369January 11, 2019 10:32 PM

So bucolic to think of walking the dog without a cell phone with you.

by Anonymousreply 370January 11, 2019 10:52 PM

R370, sometimes I take the cellphone with me, sometimes I don’t.

by Anonymousreply 371January 11, 2019 10:54 PM

[quote] Jeff Bezos should be thankful Jayme Closs’ lucky escape is wiping his sex life expose off the internet

Jeff Bezos doesn’t give a shit about the media reporting in his affair, R367. He released a statement through a spokesman saying he supports journalism and has no intention of trying to get media outlets to stop talking about him. He basically shrugged and said, “Go ahead. Talk about me. No biggie.”

by Anonymousreply 372January 11, 2019 10:55 PM

I always take a cellphone with me when I go for a walk. I could get hit by a car or a dog might try to attack me. After calling 911 I’d use the strobe light/police siren app on my phone and point it right in the dog’s eyes and turn the volume all the way up.

I mean Jesus, if you’re walking a dog you should worry that a pit bull could attack your dog ...,even if your dog is also a pit bull. Not to mention coyotes.

by Anonymousreply 373January 11, 2019 11:01 PM

R373 That is kind of where I was going with this, but I think I was too subtle.

by Anonymousreply 374January 11, 2019 11:09 PM

R370 I apologize, I posted first, thought after. I get what you’re saying. There are places where you are lucky enough not to have to worry about bringing a cell phone.

by Anonymousreply 375January 11, 2019 11:13 PM

I miss the long stretch of my life without a mobile phone, when a long walk with the dog was limited to me, the dog, and the quiet - in my surroundings and in my mind.

Also, this news is like a breath of hope in a cycle that seems increasingly hopeless.

It’s hard to imagine a more grim scenario to break out of. And she did it -maybe through sheer hope.

by Anonymousreply 376January 11, 2019 11:37 PM

R372, Good that Jeff Bezos doesn't care that he's become the laughing stock of the internet. Perhaps because the texts make him appear to be more het?

Kudos to Bezos for raising the self-esteem of Incels who are extemely jealous of his wealth and power, and assumed unlimited access to perfect 10's that they unrealistically desire.

She could go on Teen Mom. It probably pays well.

by Anonymousreply 381January 12, 2019 12:57 AM

I've been to that part of Wisconsin and it's so very rural. Outside of Superior which is a suburb of Duluth cell phone reception is spotty. So she could've had the cell phone with her but no reception?

Also Jayme appears to be in good shape. They say she was thin but the picture taken of her after, doesn't look that different, so maybe she was thin already.

Jennie-O is a big employer in that area, so it's not unusual that most people in the area will have worked there at one time. Nor is it unusual he only worked one day. I work in hospitality and in that field, working one day and quitting is common. Most places prefer if you're going to quit, to do it quickly so you don't waste everyone's time.

If you remember the guy who broke into the house to steal Jayme's undergarments was also employed by the Jennie-O plant at one time. He was cleared of any involvement.

What they say is: Jayme nor the family had no prior contact with this guy. The guy killed the parents with the express purpose of taking Jayme. He was out looking for her when arrested. He offered no resistance when arrested. The lady who Jayme ran to was a former child protective custody worker. She took Jayme to the home where they offered her food and drink and she declined both. They said her demeanor was calm and relaxed once they got her to the house and called 911. She remained there for 20 minutes before the cops got her. Whether or not she was sexually abused isn't said, but she is in excellent physical shape.

Get this the lady who Jayme went for help, her last name is Nutter. And her husband is Forrest Nutter.

Police say everyone including the suspects brother has been cooperating with law enforcement but the father of the suspect has not been located yet.

Of course all this can change in a minute. The first indictment will be issued on Monday 1-1419

by Anonymousreply 382January 12, 2019 1:01 AM

And I still wonder if her captivity with that weirdo and his wife wasn’t a little more freedom than she was allowed in her weird home. Out of the frying pan into the fire.

Hope she’s really okay. I remember how happy I was that she was found alive.

What's the implications of the charge being second degree murder instead of first?

by Anonymousreply 388January 12, 2019 4:06 AM

[quote]It's pretty clear she wasn't involved in the murders. How would her parents death be to her advantage? If she'd wanted to be with this man they'd have just run off together

Ummmm, except that the girl is, well, a girl, not an adult. She didn't and still doesn't have that sort of autonomy before the law.

Have you never read anything about the Dee Dee Blanchard case, mentioned at least twice upthread? Even though the girl WAS of age, she still had her mother killed.

by Anonymousreply 389January 12, 2019 4:55 AM

I cannot believe there are still people who think this girl had a hand in her parents’ murders.

by Anonymousreply 390January 12, 2019 5:13 AM

I still think she could be the Gypsy of this story.

by Anonymousreply 391January 12, 2019 5:24 AM

Hopefully not r390 but it's happened a few times.

by Anonymousreply 392January 12, 2019 5:47 AM

[quote]the guy who broke into the house to steal Jayme's undergarments was also employed by the Jennie-O plant at one time.

So she had one pervert obsessed with her who killed her parents and kidnapped her, and before that another pervert broke into her house and stole her panties. This poor kid is a magnet for freaks.

by Anonymousreply 393January 12, 2019 7:00 AM

R393 Exactly how does one 13 yr old have one pervert break into the house and steal her panties and another kill her parents and kidnap her? Something else is going on here. This definitely reminds me of Gypsy. The police need to dig deeper because something is rotten in Denmark.

by Anonymousreply 394January 12, 2019 7:28 AM

R394, the first event may have shone a spotlight on her which meant the second creep fixated on her.

by Anonymousreply 395January 12, 2019 7:50 AM

[quote]Exactly how does one 13 yr old have one pervert break into the house and steal her panties and another kill her parents and kidnap her?

That happened a couple weeks after she was taken and of course her picture was splattered all over the place. Also the panty thief, was known to the police because he had been arrested before for the same crime, stealing underwear. He was transitioning and my theory is crime scene clothes would either make him some money, yes people pay for things like this or he got a thrill out of wearing someone else's under things.

Remember most people assumed by this point she would never be found alive.

by Anonymousreply 396January 12, 2019 9:44 AM

[quote]He was transitioning

Of course he was.

by Anonymousreply 397January 12, 2019 9:48 AM

The suspect seemed to be rather smart. For instance the night of his crime he completely shaved his head and took steps to make sure he'd leave no DNA and foot tracks.

The police obviously lied when they said the door had been kicked in, many at Websleuths noticed the door looked like it was shot, which it was. The means the neighbors who said they heard two shots, were wrong. At least three must have been fired.

The fact that the girl was dirty was likely in her favor as rapists usually encourage bathing to wash away evidence. The cabin was a full time residence with power and water running. The odd thing about that is the father of the suspect, the owner, just transferred the title of the cabin to the credit union, after failing to pay taxes on the cabin for more than a year. So the father didn't even owner. This transfer occurs two weeks after the crime.

The other odd thing is Jayme knew his name. So either this idiot told her his full name or she saw it somehow.

by Anonymousreply 398January 12, 2019 9:51 AM

She could have taken a glimpse at a credit card, ID, addressed mail, etc.

by Anonymousreply 399January 12, 2019 10:16 AM

I wonder if he was obsessed with the Elizabeth Smart case and had looked for his own opportunity. He probably thought he could do it differently and not get caught. He's such a disgusting little fuckweasel.

I don't always hope for people to get raped in prison, but when I do...

by Anonymousreply 400January 12, 2019 10:23 AM

I think much more is going to shake down in the weeks to come. I doubt she was totally innocent in this, and I am not saying this to be a dick. So much feels a wee bit too pat. Right down to the person walking the dog she chased down who didn't have a cell phone, and happened to be a "former child protective custody worker." If true. What are the fucking odds? There is more than a whiff of hinky here.

by Anonymousreply 401January 12, 2019 10:26 AM

I still can't understand why he killed the parents. It should be relatively easy to get her alone to kidnap her. The only thing I can think of is he feared being seen on the numerous cameras that are everywhere now.

by Anonymousreply 402January 12, 2019 10:29 AM

I think there's more to the story, r402.

by Anonymousreply 403January 12, 2019 10:44 AM

[quote]The suspect seemed to be rather smart. For instance the night of his crime he completely shaved his head and took steps to make sure he'd leave no DNA and foot tracks.

Or he just watches tv. There was a serial killer on CSI who did this exact thing- shaved off all his body hair.

by Anonymousreply 404January 12, 2019 12:59 PM

The kidnapper took her then , some days later a pervert became obsessed with the case and stole her underwear from the crime scene... How the hell does that implicate her in any way? What the fuck is wrong with you people?

by Anonymousreply 405January 12, 2019 1:52 PM

I've seen this episode of Criminal Minds. She hates her parents, and so lures a crazy into killing them, but she's too immature to realize he's psycho and will kidnap her after-the-fact. The BAU shows up at the cabin, though, and saves her, not an old woman.

by Anonymousreply 406January 12, 2019 1:55 PM

R406 yup Datalounge watches a lot of Criminal Minds.

by Anonymousreply 407January 12, 2019 2:04 PM

There's a possibility she chatted with this guy while gaming online, or some such online interaction outside of social media, without ever knowing who she really was chatting with. Just a casual convo on her part, but maybe she didn't realize the person she was chatting with knew who she was. Or maybe she unwittingly let slip enough details about herself and where she lived for him to track her down.

Or he could've simply spotted her around town, gotten fixated on her, and began making plans. Barron is a small town. So the odds of him seeing her around town are very good, as are the odds of him coming to Barron to drink, shop, or hang out, because there's so little to do in that part of Wisconsin. And if he'd been fantasizing about kidnapping a girl for his very own, first thing he'd have realized is that he couldn't nab one in his immediate vicinity.

by Anonymousreply 408January 12, 2019 3:10 PM

[quote]Or he could've simply spotted her around town, gotten fixated on her, and began making plans.

He seems the type to lurk near high schools even well after he’s graduated. Incels typify arrested development and are fixated on their formative years.

by Anonymousreply 409January 12, 2019 3:22 PM

But the question remains: why kill the parents?

by Anonymousreply 410January 12, 2019 3:23 PM

Who knows? Maybe he read The Collector one too many times and thought it would be cool to keep a girl captive in his basement. Maybe part of his fantasy involved blowing the parents away. We’ll find it all out eventually.

The fraus on this thread seem to think that there has to be some tv show twist. Maybe this is just a creep kidnapping a kid.

by Anonymousreply 411January 12, 2019 3:46 PM

[quote]There's a possibility she chatted with this guy while gaming online, or some such online interaction outside of social media, without ever knowing who she really was chatting with

The family computer and her phone was thoroughly searched, so unless she somehow got a burner phone, it's not likely she talked with him online or via text.

Her own significant time not in Barron, is when she ran cross country and attended dance classes in Rice Lake (a town of almost 9.000), Wisconsin.

by Anonymousreply 412January 12, 2019 3:48 PM

I'm actually less and less convinced she was involved. I think it was more of a Shasta Groene type of thing. If Jayme had anything to do with this guy, he'll probably tell the police that, e.g. "She begged me to kill her abusive parents, I was just rescuing her!" If he doesn't claim to have had a prior relationship with her, it's pretty unlikely...

by Anonymousreply 413January 12, 2019 3:51 PM

Here is a photo of her from Jan 11th.

It's of the aunt who funcitoned as her babysitter (labeled caretaker by the press, and is now her legal guardian) and her dog, the one that was at home when her parents were killed.

She doesn't look any different to me, than the other pictures.

by Anonymousreply 415January 12, 2019 5:16 PM

Am I turning into an old fart for thinking a selfie with aunty posted publicly so soon after Jayme was found is odd? I realize it was posted by her aunt on a FB page dedicated to Jayme, and people are interested to see her after her safe return. But a photo that looks like any old selfie someone would take while hanging with their aunt gave me pause. (Or maybe I’m just a jaded bitch after Hannah Anderson. Of course, no sign Jayme is going to behave like her. Heck, it was her aunt posting the picture.)

by Anonymousreply 416January 12, 2019 7:49 PM

^ Yes, you're an old fart. Nothing seems odd about it.

by Anonymousreply 417January 12, 2019 8:23 PM

Jayme's parents dropped her off at her aunt's house in the morning, before going to work. They picked her up at night. At one point the aunt moved away from the area, and Jayme had to change schools. Wonder how that affected her attitude towards her parents.

by Anonymousreply 418January 12, 2019 8:24 PM

^ It's pathetic how desperate some of you are to have this girl be involved in her parents muder and subsequent sex slavery.

R419, Clearly Jayme was spending more time at her aunt's home than her parents, with the exception of when she was asleep. There are holes in this case as the media has reported it. Not saying Jayme's necessarily involved in any way in her parents' murder. Just that I'm undecided and waiting for more info. Of course she could have said something to someone that was somehow misinterpreted too.

From his dad, who signed over the title of his house to him. Apparently the dad is trying to distance himself from his pervy sons, telling the cops he has nothing to do with them. But I'm sure he still gives them money like most other enabling parents of troubled adult offspring who don't want them sleeping on the street.

I know everyone processes their trauma in their own ways but it is weird to me how they're so many photo ops like it's a birthday party so soon. After horrendous ordeal.  I have yet to see one picture or an interview with Sheri Papini who was kidnapped in 2016 and escaped after 22 days.

by Anonymousreply 434January 12, 2019 9:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 440January 12, 2019 10:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 447January 12, 2019 11:04 PM

The house he was in was signed over to the credit union two weeks after the crime was committed, due to not paying back taxes.

The kid was caught siphoning off gas by one of his neighbors.

by Anonymousreply 448January 12, 2019 11:06 PM

CBS is 14 minutes into a new 48 Hours about the case right now.

by Anonymousreply 449January 13, 2019 2:14 AM

Thanks. Can't see it now.

by Anonymousreply 450January 13, 2019 2:16 AM

Elizabeth Smart’s family did an exclusive magazine article after her rescue, I think with People. I think they thought doing an exclusive would satisfy curious people and get them to leave them alone, which pretty much worked. That was before people were posting their every cup of coffee on Instagram though.

by Anonymousreply 451January 13, 2019 2:21 AM

The family seems to be enjoying the media attention a little. Whole thing is bizarre and creepy.

The kidnapper looks like Brick on "The Middle".

by Anonymousreply 452January 13, 2019 2:21 AM

I don't think she deliberately participated in murders. The pedo probably catfished her, pretended to be a high school guy, who flattered her, told her how special she was, the usual BS, promised her who knows what, that they would run away from that one horse town, etc, so she let him into the house and came to regret it. I'm always amazed how naive and socially retarded kids these days are:, falling for any sign of (fake) attention and affection on social media.

by Anonymousreply 453January 13, 2019 2:22 AM

I was going to say I hope all of you cunts feel bad about what you said after the horrific story starts to come out but then I remembered sociopaths and Dataloungers don't feel shame or regret.

by Anonymousreply 457January 13, 2019 2:52 AM

The FBI scrubbed her and her family’s internet histories hard. I don’t think she interacted with this guy at all online. He either saw her IRL or saw her online and stalked her from there but never reached out to her.

by Anonymousreply 458January 13, 2019 2:54 AM

[quote] Elizabeth Smart - was she in People magazine too? Maybe more families would do it, except these cases so rarely turn out well.

IIRC, Jaycee Dugard did a photo shoot for People shortly after she was found. She said she thought it would increase her chances of being left alone, because once the photos were out there, there would be less motivation for the press to try to snap some of their own.

by Anonymousreply 459January 13, 2019 2:54 AM

So he can tell everyone he doesn't have a TV.

by Anonymousreply 460January 13, 2019 2:54 AM

I doubt she had anything to do with the murder of her parents, but it wouldn't surprise me if she were involved with the killer. The poor girl is on the homely side and may have been desperate for attention and approval since boys her age were probably focused on the cuter girls at school. 13 is when kids really start noticing who they are attracted to and who is attracted to them (of course, I'm talking about same aged peers, not a 20 year old creep). It wouldn't be her fault, I think the guy could have picked up on her insecurities and groomed her. I think the parents found out about the relationship and freaked out, so he killed them and absconded with her.

by Anonymousreply 461January 13, 2019 2:55 AM

R457, Have had a nightmare dealing with Cox just for my internet service. They finally admitted to me they didn't have enough tech for their existing accounts. When my internet went out they used to claim "wild animals were affecting the outside connections." Excuse me? I live a couple blocks from Palms Casino. The only "wild animals" around here have 2 legs. OK, they finally gave me a few free months. Wasn't worth the $100 mo savings.

Neighbor has even worse problems with Cox for TV. She's elderly and doesn't have internet. We both wish Cox didn't have a total monopoly.

by Anonymousreply 462January 13, 2019 2:58 AM

Exactly my thought r460. I had a friend who was one of those "TV is poison" assholes, so refused to get cable. Every week, without fail, there was a program on she really wanted to see so she would ask me to tape it for her. My guess is r456 is one of "those".

by Anonymousreply 463January 13, 2019 3:00 AM

LE has said publicly several times that she hadn't known him, had never interacted with him in real life or on the internet, and they don't know why he targeted her but they're convinced he did.

I don't get what's so hard to understand about that. Easier for some to blame the victim? Matches their TV fantasies from watching SVU and Criminal Minds?

by Anonymousreply 464January 13, 2019 3:01 AM

[quote] If you remember the guy who broke into the house to steal Jayme's undergarments was also employed by the Jennie-O plant at one time. He was cleared of any involvement.

Jesus I’m glad I don’t live in & didn’t grow up in fucking flyover country, where a 13 year old girl has fucking perverts breaking into her house to sniff her undies AND THEN had to deal with a completely unrelated homicidal perv who breaks into her house, kills her parents, abducts, rapes & holds her hostage.

Then the son of the president of this fucking disgusting country has the nerve to compare penniless Central American peasants to zoo animals.

by Anonymousreply 465January 13, 2019 3:02 AM

the undie sniffer came after the homicidal perv .

by Anonymousreply 466January 13, 2019 6:15 AM

Men like this are incels, they’re not normal. They’ve always been around, but people make a bigger deal out of it now because of the #Metoo movement. Women quit brushing off creepy stalkers and now complain about them. Good.

by Anonymousreply 467January 13, 2019 6:46 AM

[quote]The poor girl is on the homely side and may have been desperate for attention and approval since boys her age were probably focused on the cuter girls at school. 13 is when kids really start noticing who they are attracted to

If she's homly the stalker is butt ugly. I don't care how ugly a girl I was, you'd still be better than this dude based on looks alone.

by Anonymousreply 468January 13, 2019 7:03 AM

R460. R463, You are both 100% wrong. I never have told anyone that I don't have a TV. I've also never asked anyone to record anything for me. I suffer from eye strain and was advised by my optometrist to choose between the internet and TV. I chose the former. Glasses and/or contacts would not solve the problem.

I don't want to further distract from the subject matter of Jayme Closs. So please don't make any more ridiculous assumptions about a total stranger. Thank you.

by Anonymousreply 469January 13, 2019 7:11 AM

R467, Thank you for your post. Women and girls of all ages have always had to deal with delusional creeps lacking in common sense or manners. Total zeros.

by Anonymousreply 470January 13, 2019 7:20 AM

I'm from Wisconsin, and I don't think the Barron sheriff is telling the whole story. It just doesn't add up.

by Anonymousreply 471January 13, 2019 8:36 AM

What doesn’t “add up”?

by Anonymousreply 472January 13, 2019 8:37 AM

It's hard to explain, but the sheriff seems 100% certain about a few things that I dont think he can be certain of. And, that started from the very beginning.

by Anonymousreply 473January 13, 2019 8:45 AM

R472, I'd love to know how the perp 1st connected with Jayme Closs. Did he see her walking down the street and then follow her home? At this point it just seems so random.

Sure girls get kidnapped, even in small towns. However the perp doesn't show up in the middle of the night at their home and murder their parents in most kidnapping cases. Easier to grab them when they're walking alone.

by Anonymousreply 474January 13, 2019 8:47 AM

Exactly!!!! How can they say no one knew this guy when the parents arent alive to confirm that.

by Anonymousreply 475January 13, 2019 8:50 AM

R473, I agree with you about the sheriff seemingly certain that Jayme was still alive, even after weeks and weeks of no real clues. Statistically the odds were not in Jayme's favor, especially since there wasn't a ransom note.

by Anonymousreply 476January 13, 2019 8:50 AM

Yes, that was the first thing. He was sure she was alive and had nothing to do with it. Only hours after it happened.

by Anonymousreply 477January 13, 2019 8:54 AM

R477, Do you think that the sheriff purposely gave out that info so skeptics wouldn't convince the public to stop looking for her? Media usually shies away from continuously reporting when the victim has a tarnished reputation. So many rude people today are so inconsiderate, and make up the worst possible stories about strangers. Can you imagine being one of Jayme's relatives and having to read comments of how she plotted to kill her own parents?

by Anonymousreply 478January 13, 2019 8:58 AM

That would be awful to read.

If the guy pleads guilty, we may never know the truth to all this.

by Anonymousreply 479January 13, 2019 9:03 AM

WE SOLVED ANOTHER ONE! And once again, no one will give us any credit.

by Anonymousreply 480January 13, 2019 9:12 AM

R479, Just speculating, do you think the sheriff didn't want to reveal any of the insider info he knew about this case because it would make Jayme's parents look bad? Her innocent relatives would have to deal with the shame. When Jayme was rescued she'd also have to carry the burden, gossips can be so mean. Some say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead anyway.

There has been online guesses that the parents could have had gambling debts, or used or dealt drugs, or knew some bad people through working at Jennie-O or elsewhere. Please don't dis me as admittedly I'm repeating unproven, random gossip. IMHO the perp (perps?) went to Jayme's house with the intention of killing her parents. LE said it resembled a pro hit, and not by a clueless Incel. Honestly did he really act 100% alone?

by Anonymousreply 481January 13, 2019 9:26 AM

I agree with others here who have criticized the thirsty, attention whores in her extended family. WTF? This girl is still recovering from an unimaginable trauma. She should be shielded for weeks, if not months as she slowly gets her life back while receiving intense therapy. Posting smiling selfies on SM? JFC! How clueless and crass can you be?

BTW, I heard when they found her she was thin and frail. No sign of that in those pics. She looks healthy and fit to me. No worse for wear.

by Anonymousreply 482January 13, 2019 9:58 AM

r482

It does appear she was not physically abused, but if she was sexually abused, that's another kettle of fish.

Can you imagine having that weirdo as your first? Thank God, they can give her pills to prevent or end any pregnancy she might have had, if she was sexually molested.

[quote] I'd love to know how the perp 1st connected with Jayme Closs. Did he see her walking down the street and then follow her home? At this point it just seems so random.

as for that it is random but so what? I live in Chicago and random acts of violence happen all the time. Of course in the city the journalists usually victim blame too.

There will be an indictment on Monday. I don't know if he'll plead guilty, he definitely is a few bricks short of a load but since Wisconsin doesn't have a death penalty he has nothing to lose by pleading not guilty. It was obviously two premeditated murders, so he isn't going anywhere ever, well hopefully.

So the Marines didn't take him, r484?

by Anonymousreply 485January 13, 2019 12:57 PM

r485

I assume not. But be aware, like any resume what is on it isn't necessarily true. The last update was in October before he kidnapped Jayme.

by Anonymousreply 486January 13, 2019 1:17 PM

School classmates said he wanted to be a Marine. Even with issues recruiting seems they got to know him a bit and gave a hard pass. Someone must know the story there.

Something about all of this is off, including the extended family. So the aunt she is with was her before and after school childcare? And the aunt moving led to her changing schools? Sounds more like the parents wanted to transfer her and the aunt moving provided residency elsewhere? Dunno. Wonder when she will go back to school. Regardless of back story, poor kid.

by Anonymousreply 487January 13, 2019 3:32 PM

[quote]Just speculating, do you think the sheriff didn't want to reveal any of the insider info he knew about this case because it would make Jayme's parents look bad?

Or he doesn’t want to jeopardize the state’s case against this guy by saying the wrong thing or giving fuel to his defense team if he gets one. This is law enforcement 101.

[quote]BTW, I heard when they found her she was thin and frail. No sign of that in those pics. She looks healthy and fit to me. No worse for wear.

Yes dear. Because those photos of her bundled up in layers of clothes, mostly shot from the shoulders up, are sure to tell the whole story. No need to investigate, madame frau at r482 has it solved.

by Anonymousreply 488January 13, 2019 4:16 PM

Ugh, at his resume 'highlights'. I'm sure he also thought of, and described himself "I'm a nice guy!" and 'a catch'. Because, of course, stalkers/rapists/murderers are such (to themselves and to some wackos on DL if they look a certain way).

It would say quite a bit if he was considered too fucked up to be untrainable for the military.

R453, the front door lock to the home was blown off with a shotgun. It was a forced entry, therefore no one opened the door for this psycho and let him in.

There is zero evidence or indications that Jayme or anyone in her family had communicated with the murderer/kidnapper previously.

This creep somehow spotted this girl and stalked her. He murdered her parents specifically for the purpose of succeeding in the kidnapping of their child.

I am always puzzled that people cannot fathom that there are people in our society capable of doing something like this with no participation from the victims.

There are some REALLY sick fucks out there. All that has to happen is that some sick fuck becomes fixated and determined to harm you, and depending on a number of variables, they might succeed in carrying out harm towards you and/or your family.

Why are some of you so mystified over the concept that really bad shit can happen to anyone, while the victim being unaware that they are about to be seriously harmed?

by Anonymousreply 494January 13, 2019 4:45 PM

The sheriff and the media has made a big deal about the fact that the kidnapper shaved his head to minimize his forensic footprint. But, would that really matter ? He had no criminal record and they had absolutely no clue who he was. So, his DNA is not on file any place. Even if he had left hairs at the scene, they would have been no good to police.

[quote]. So the aunt she is with was her before and after school childcare? And the aunt moving led to her changing schools? Sounds more like the parents wanted to transfer her and the aunt moving provided residency elsewhere?

The parents both work at the Jennie-O plant. So the aunt would pick her up after school and let her stay at her house till the parents could get her. When the aunt moved it was too far for the aunt so the parents changed the school, so the aunt could still get her.

I imagine with Jayme being 13 she was getting a little bit too old to need a babysitter though.

The other day I was half listening to the radio while in traffic and they were talking about some tennis player's sister being stalked by someone she'd never met. It started online and eventually graduated to actually physically stalking. The discussion went on to say this was not at all uncommon among people who weren't celebrities.

by Anonymousreply 500January 13, 2019 5:03 PM

Here’s my theory: parents were drug users, incel was a dealer. They owed him money. He took the daughter as payment and killed them.

The aunt knew the parents were skeevy, so she cared for the daughter while they were at home getting high. The aunt has been the real parent for years.

The sheriff knows the parents had drug issues. They’ve been known to the police before all of this as drug users.

Because he thought it was cool or something. He probably saw it on some crime show. By the sheriff pointing this out it also sends the message that this guy taking such measures still didn’t prevent him from being found and arrested.

by Anonymousreply 503January 13, 2019 6:18 PM

This sounds bizarre, but when I saw his picture, he looked like someone, and it was driving me CRAZY. I think it's his expression in the pic. Finally figured it out. To me, he resembles Matt Bellasai who does those "Whine about it" videos.

I'm in the camp where the Facebook selfie of Jayme seems too soon, and odd. I just hate social media culture so much. But maybe the Aunt doesn't see it that way. She looked so healthy though.

by Anonymousreply 504January 13, 2019 8:49 PM

R501, Not saying you're right or wrong, as i really don't know either way. Still do you have anything other than a hunch re your scenario? Any online gossip? There was a CDAN Blind right after the murder/kidnapping but DL says CDAN's trash.

[quote]It's funny to me that complete strangers online think they get to decide what's "too soon" or "appropriate" after you're parents have been murdered and you've escaped from a fucking psycho.

Yes, we ARE a lot smarter and more compassionate than her hick relatives. Thank you for acknowledging it. The girl is 13. She isn't the one who took the pics and she didn't posted them. Her tone deaf, fame hungry relatives did. Who knows if she even wanted to be exposed that way? She may have reluctantly gone along with it at their insistence---the victim once again. Fact is, the aunt should be protecting her, not flaunting her own virtue.

by Anonymousreply 511January 14, 2019 5:27 AM

R506, no, I don’t think that because of online gossip. I think it because I knew a man with a long record for drug offenses. He did time in prison for stealing to support his habit. After prison, he moved into an apartment where a lot of drug addicts lived, went back on drugs immediately and became a drug dealer. He was murdered by two drug addict “friends” that stole his drugs.

There was a long investigation of this situation. Eventually it was found that the dealer was surrounding himself with an entire group of very skeevy, messed up people, and that’s what led to his death. The police knew of all of these people, they all had records. They were known to be in and out of prison like a revolving door.

The police said it was inevitable that people like that either die or end up doing long sentences eventually as they deteriorate further and start robbing people to pay for their habit, or maybe move up to killing people to get drugs.

During the investigation, some of the dealer’s friends were interviewed. They had sad, tragic lives and extremely low standards about what was acceptable or normal. Living in extreme poverty, without even the basic levels of cleanliness or possessions. Just destitute. They weren’t raised like you and me, they just were doomed from the start for various reasons. Abuse, neglect, druggie parents, molestation. They never had a chance.

It really opened my eyes.

by Anonymousreply 512January 14, 2019 5:45 AM

Another thing I found very significant is that the girl was essentially living with her aunt. Either the parents weren’t fit due to drug use or other reasons, or there was something illegal going on at home the adults didn’t want the girl to see or be a part of. If you’re trying to hide something, don’t do it in front of a teenager.

I’m aware kids stay with relatives to stay in a school district. I did that myself when I was younger. The schools frown on it a lot. They try to stop it if you get caught. I was told never to attract the attention of the principal or teachers or I would lose my school.

In my case, it wasn’t just a matter of babysitting at that age. It was that my home environment was very unstable and keeping me with my grandparents part time helped things seem more normal. There’s always a story behind this.

by Anonymousreply 522January 14, 2019 12:44 PM

There’s a SO MUCH weird in this story.

First, I agree that the series of selfies is a bit much. Maybe one photo with the whole family and the dog. It’s sufficient. I understand people want to see that she’s really okay.

There are so many creepy men out there who think they’re owed a woman’s (or girl’s!) attention. Men might not even realize the extent of it.

There was something “off” with the parents, too. The mother liked makeup and glitz, and the dad seemed to be much older. They seemed to be extra protective of her, sheltering her a bit. But maybe that’s typical of parents of an only child.

by Anonymousreply 523January 14, 2019 1:15 PM

by Anonymousreply 524January 14, 2019 1:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 531January 14, 2019 2:51 PM

The family selfies are weird. If I were her guardian, I'd post just ONE pic of her smiling, holding her dog, so that people can see she's safe and already starting to heal. At the same time I posted the pic, I'd have thanked the community for their concern and assistance.

The aunt sure has made herself prominent in those selfies. I find it weird. Not only that, but the "rescuers" are talking to multiple media outlets too. The dog-walker has participated in multiple news stories where she describes the girl's appearance and behavior, and she relays their dialogue word for word, plus a bunch of irrelevant details about the encounter. Then the homeowners who welcomed her into the house while they called police have also described her appearance and behavior in multiple news stories. (Who the fuck cares that you offered her something to eat and drink, and she declined?) These folks have gotten a lot of mileage out of their non-stories.

She has nothing to be ashamed of. But she does deserve some privacy.

by Anonymousreply 532January 14, 2019 2:55 PM

So if something is bad we should delete all references to it?

by Anonymousreply 533January 14, 2019 2:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 537January 14, 2019 3:33 PM

Oh my but there are some self inflated egos on here. "How dare you speculate" blah, blah, blah. Maybe we speculate because over and over again we see stories where the teens WERE involved in someones death ? No one is saying she definitely was, just discussing it. Im sorry,I know shes young and all that, but to have both your parents gunned down and then be kidnapped and raped (allegedly) for 2 months yet she looks like she just came back from the 7-11 ? How could that terror and misery NOT show on your face ? Her eyes look exactly like they did from her before pics. Nope, spmething isnt right with this story and we will eventually find out what.

by Anonymousreply 538January 14, 2019 3:34 PM

Christ, now the family is publishing the voicemails they left each other when the child was found alive. I hope the family doesn't start looking at this kid as their golden goose. They're probably negotiating for magazine and book deals now.

by Anonymousreply 539January 14, 2019 3:35 PM

They already got a magazine deal from People.

If the extended family is this weird, it does make me wonder about the family back story.

It is all just weird.

For example, why does the NY Post have pics inside the house and basement where she was kept? Would it not be a secured crime scene?

by Anonymousreply 540January 14, 2019 3:38 PM

Shouldn't the kid be in therapy? did she even get checked out at the hospital? The kid should be shielded from the outside world.

by Anonymousreply 541January 14, 2019 3:38 PM

Well, they need the money obviously...But it probably doesn't even go to the kid, the parents take it and use it on themselves. fucking shit parents.

by Anonymousreply 542January 14, 2019 3:39 PM

Uh, R542, the parents are DEAD.

by Anonymousreply 543January 14, 2019 3:41 PM

As someone said up thread, it's probably the best thing for the family to do one big spread, show pictures and answer questions.

This way people's curiosity will be satisfied and she'll become yesterday's news and can start rebuilding her life without public intervention.

Let's face it a year from now, no one will care. They have a GoFundMe account for her, I hope the aunt saves it for Jayme's college.

Anyone know anything about the indictment of the perpetrator that was supposed to come down today?

by Anonymousreply 550January 14, 2019 7:07 PM

R547, YES!!!! (to the taking credit part!) I was wondering the same thing. Nothing they did found her.

It reminds me of the press conference after the Golden State Killer was apprehended. It was 40 YEARS later and absolutely NOTHING in the police investigation uncovered one clue as to who it really was. He was never even on their radar until a tip was called in and some DNA was run through a national database. They did nothing, but it was an hour-long circle jerk congratulating themselves.

As an aside, What a terrible picture to release to the media for a missing person. Is that the best one they had?

by Anonymousreply 551January 14, 2019 7:09 PM

I can't believe there are still people speculating that Jayme had something to do with it. LE have specifically said that he targeted her after seeing her board a school bus. There was no prior contact and he was totally unknown to her and her family. This isn't about a girl who "got ony over her head with an older guy" and it isn't about drugs. It's about a psycho who randomly decided to kill this girl's parents so he could take her and hold her prisoner. That's it. Yes, it's horrifying and frightening, but blaming the victims doesn't make it not real. Time to face reality.

Jesus.

^the details in the CNN sorry were pretty horrific... it shows the parents and Jayme were totally innocent. I hope she gets some really intense therapy. I think people are often going to put some blame on the victim, because it lessens the feeling of complete randomness of these tragedies. People can then rationalize it to some extent. But tragic things do happen randomly... and r556 you’re right, the big question is how did we as a society produce this monster?

by Anonymousreply 575January 15, 2019 12:16 AM

R574, once something like this happens, you never feel safe again.

You heal, you become functional, and you can even thrive and overcome the trauma. However, it is never again the way it was before “it” happened. You are now forever aware that someone or something can come out of nowhere and change your life profoundly.

Jayme has the additional trauma of witnessing the murders of her parents.

I really wish this little girl the best, but witnessing murder is a life changing event and she may never overcome it.

I am still speechless regarding the fact that this guy killed her parents. Justice will never be served here, no matter what. He took everything from this kid.

Her determination to escape is what she’s going to need in order to heal from this, and sustaining that is easier said than done.

Her family better be getting her some competent therapy right now. Hope the state is monitoring her care.

by Anonymousreply 577January 15, 2019 12:40 AM

i hope she will get the help she needs to get through all this. i wonder if Elizabeth Smart can help her. I feel so sad for Shasta Groene too.

There are no sexual assault charges filed against him? Did he have her all that time and really not rape her?

by Anonymousreply 579January 15, 2019 12:51 AM

The evidence may not be processed yet.

by Anonymousreply 580January 15, 2019 12:55 AM

R579 I thought the same thing... I wonder if they have such a solid case on the murder charges, etc., that they’ll forego those charges to spare Jayme.

by Anonymousreply 581January 15, 2019 12:56 AM

Considering how readily he admitted to plotting the murders and kidnapping, it wouldn't surprise me if he'd admit to rape as well. If it happened, that is, and I'd be shocked if it didn't.

by Anonymousreply 582January 15, 2019 1:00 AM

More charges might be filed in Douglas County where she was found.

by Anonymousreply 583January 15, 2019 1:02 AM

He first spotted her on the school bus.

Since the names and faces of sexual assault victims are not seen, I’ll bet any details of that if they occurred have been redacted. The horror christ...

by Anonymousreply 585January 15, 2019 1:06 AM

She never directly looks into the camera. Is she autistic?

by Anonymousreply 586January 15, 2019 1:14 AM

R579 = Howard Stern

by Anonymousreply 587January 15, 2019 1:28 AM

I was thinking that too, r579. Usually that's the case.

by Anonymousreply 588January 15, 2019 1:55 AM

I guess it's possible he didn't rape her, but from what I've read, it may be that the reason he hasn't been charged with rape or sexual assault (yet?) is because it occurred in the county where he took her, not in Barron where he committed the murders and kidnapping and is charged with those offenses.

[quote]I really wish this little girl the best, but witnessing murder is a life changing event and she may never overcome it.

I live in a city where both adults and children see this daily, yet no one cares about that. In fact, we have a whole genre of music encouraging it.

"There are no sexual assault charges filed against him? Did he have her all that time and really not rape her?"

They may want to spare this poor child the trauma of testifying, and the shame of making more details public (not that she has anything to feel shameful about). At this point, this guy is not going anywhere. Ever. He's done. There's no point in putting her through it.

by Anonymousreply 591January 15, 2019 3:26 AM

If he went to prison on just murder charges would it protect him somewhat from the other inmates? If he had a child rape charge in there, would he be more in danger of harassment and violence from the other inmates? If so, I'd consider it worth it to tack on the rape charges and I'd hope that would be explained to Jayme and she'd be the one to decide. She could have her revenge then, if she wanted.

by Anonymousreply 592January 15, 2019 3:33 AM

At 6'1 215 pounds he's big enough to defend himself from most other prisoners. No matter what your crime is, if you're big enough, no one bothers you.

by Anonymousreply 593January 15, 2019 3:36 AM

I'm surprised he's so tall. He looks like a fucking dork that's only 5'6.

by Anonymousreply 594January 15, 2019 3:42 AM

Well well well, guess all you “She was in on it” losers have to eat crow now. There were so many of you on this thread so sure she was in on it somehow, or that she knew the kidnapper/murderer somehow, or that her parents were involved with drugs.

All of you were wrong.

That is glorious. That is what I’m happiest about when I read the latest news reports. It was always so obvious, but you morons held fast to your genius theories. Ha!

by Anonymousreply 595January 15, 2019 3:51 AM

And I’m guessing the “She was in on it” people are the same ones who automatically screech “EST!” whenever someone asks for advice or tells a really mundane story that for the EST freaks just seems too “elaborate” to be real.

You people are just *too* smart.

by Anonymousreply 596January 15, 2019 3:53 AM

[quote]Well well well, guess all you “She was in on it” losers have to eat crow now.

Oh, I'm sure many of them will continue to insist that she somehow played a role.

by Anonymousreply 597January 15, 2019 3:56 AM

Well maybe he saw the futility of it and he and Jayme concocted a scheme to let her go and he'd take the whole rap alone.

by Anonymousreply 598January 15, 2019 3:58 AM

[quote] She never directly looks into the camera. Is she autistic?

Are you? She saw her parents murdered, then was held captive by the murderer for three months. Sue her if she's not ready for her close up.

by Anonymousreply 599January 15, 2019 3:59 AM

That’s right, R598! Don’t give up!
