Kav accuser Julie Swetnick is crazier than a bag of cats

Is she "that" Julie?

"Swetnick's former employer alleged in a 2000 lawsuit that, after the company determined she had engaged in “inappropriate conduct,” Swetnick made “false and retaliatory allegations” of sexual harassment against two male co-workers.

Julie Swetnick, the third woman to accuse Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in high school, faced allegations from her former employer that she engaged in “unwelcome, sexually offensive conduct” in 2000. WebTrends alleged in a lawsuit that, after the company determined she had engaged in “inappropriate conduct,” Swetnick made “false and retaliatory allegations” of sexual harassment against two male co-workers.

by Anonymousreply 1September 29, 2018 1:44 AM

Kavanaugh vehemently denied Swetnick’s claims, and her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, called the case “bogus,” pointing out that WebTrends dismissed its case. The woman who charges she was gang-raped at a party where Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was present, Julie Swetnick, had a lawsuit filed against her by a former employer that alleged she engaged in “unwelcome, sexually offensive conduct” towards two male co-workers, according to court documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

WebTrends, a web analytics company headquartered in Portland, filed the defamation and fraud lawsuit against Swetnick in Oregon in November 2000 and also alleged that she lied about graduating from Johns Hopkins University.

Swetnick alleged Wednesday that she was gang raped at a party where Kavanaugh was present in the early 1980s. Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegation. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Breaks Silence On Avenatti Represented Accuser)

Swetnick is represented by Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with President Donald Trump.

WebTrends voluntarily dismissed its suit after one month. Avenatti told The Daily Caller News Foundation that the case was ended because it was “completely bogus.”

Swetnick’s alleged conduct took place in June 2000, just three weeks after she started working at WebTrends, the complaint shows. WebTrends conducted an investigation that found both male employees gave similar accounts of Swetnick engaging in “unwelcome sexual innuendo and inappropriate conduct” toward them during a business lunch in front of customers, the complaint said.

Swetnick denied the allegations and, WebTrends alleged, “in a transparent effort to divert attention from her own inappropriate behavior … [made] false and retaliatory allegations” of sexual harassment against two other male co-workers.

by Anonymousreply 2September 29, 2018 1:47 AM

Daily Caller? An immediate F&F.

by Anonymousreply 3September 29, 2018 1:47 AM

“Based on its investigations, WebTrends determined that Swetnick had engaged in inappropriate conduct, but that no corroborating evidence existed to support Swetnick’s allegations against her coworkers,” the complaint said.

After a WebTrends human resources director informed Swetnick that the company was unable to corroborate the sexual harassment allegations she had made, she “remarkably” walked back the allegations, according to the complaint.

In July, one month after the alleged incident, Swetnick took a leave of absence from the company for sinus issues, according to the complaint. WebTrends said it made short-term disability payments to her until mid-August that year. One week after the payments stopped, WebTrends received a note from Swetnick’s doctor claiming she needed a leave of absence for a “nervous breakdown.”

The company said it continued to provide health insurance coverage for Swetnick, despite her refusal provide any additional information about her alleged medical condition.

In November, the company’s human resources director received a notice from the Washington, D.C. Department of Unemployment that Swetnick had applied for unemployment benefits after claiming she left WebTrends voluntarily in late September.

“In short, Swetnick continued to claim the benefits of a full-time employee of WebTrends, sought disability payments from WebTrends’ insurance carrier and falsely claimed unemployment insurance payments from the District of Columbia,” the complaint states.

Swetnick allegedly hung up the phone on WebTrends managers calling to discuss why she applied for unemployment benefits, according to the complaint. She then sent letters to WebTrends’ upper management, detailing new allegations that two male co-workers sexually harassed her and said that the company’s human resources director had “illegally tired [sic] for months to get privileged medical information” from her, her doctor and her insurance company.

WebTrends also alleged that Swetnick began her fraud against the company before she was hired by stating on her job application that she graduated from John Hopkins University. But according to the complaint, the school had no record of her attendance.

An online resume posted by Swetnick makes no reference to John Hopkins University. It does show that she worked for WebTrends from December 1999 to August 2000.

It’s unclear what transpired after the complaint was filed against Swetnick. One month after WebTrends filed the action, the company voluntarily dismissed the action with prejudice.

The complaint against his client was “[c]ompletely bogus which is why it was dismissed almost immediately,” Avenatti told TheDCNF in an email. “The lawsuit was filed in retaliation against my client after she pursued claims against the company.”

WebTrends did not respond to multiple requests for comment.

In March 2001, three months after WebTrends dismissed its action, Swetnick’s ex-boyfriend, Richard Vinneccy, filed a restraining order against Swetnick, claiming that she threatened him after he ended their four-year relationship. “She’s not credible,” Vinneccy told Politico. “Not at all.”

OP, I take great joy in voting you for F&F and then blocking you.

Dasvidanya, comrade.

by Anonymousreply 10September 29, 2018 4:50 AM

Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute.

This reporting is literally the summary of an actual legal filing made by her employer in 2000 - a web analytics company that is still in business today.

How could you think that isn't salient. Are you that brainwashed that the possibility that she is a nutjob never crossed your mind?

I don't believe you're that dim.

I think you realize the significance and it makes you angry.

by Anonymousreply 11September 29, 2018 1:59 PM

I fully understand that Michael Avenetti is both sexy and a Democrat.

I get that.

But you have no doubts about the veracity of the Swetnick affidavit?

by Anonymousreply 12September 29, 2018 2:00 PM

The company voluntarily dismissed. Probably after a settlement.

No judge ever found it "bogus."

Avenatti is full of it.

by Anonymousreply 13September 29, 2018 2:08 PM

An FBI investigation will clear with all Up.

Mark Judge, we’re calling you!

by Anonymousreply 14September 29, 2018 2:40 PM

I don't understand how she is three years older than Kav and grew up attending public school 30 minutes away, but somehow attended 10 gang rapes with Kav when he was in HS.

Yet no one in the days since she released her affidavit has corroborated this. No one remembers Julie and Kav in same social circle.

Also why are there no new facts in her affidavit?

Beach Week was previously released in his calendar. Judge's ex girlfriend raised drunken gang rape in The New Yorker. Ford ID'd Judge and Kav.

No new names, no new places, no new locations, no new nothing.

If you buy the affidavit, you are a fool.

by Anonymousreply 15September 29, 2018 3:03 PM

'crazier than a bag of cats'?? I believe a bag of cats would qualify as infinitely saner than whoever came up with this phrase. Wow, you're dumber than a box of paperclips......

by Anonymousreply 16September 29, 2018 3:06 PM

[quote]The company voluntarily dismissed. Probably after a settlement. No judge ever found it "bogus."

The company withdrew the lawsuit; there was no evidence of any "settlement." And the judge terminated it "with prejudice," meaning that the company could not later refile it. That qualification is often used to mean "bogus."

by Anonymousreply 17September 29, 2018 3:08 PM

No it isn't R17.

You know nothing about civil litigation.

The case was withdrawn not tossed by the judge.

by Anonymousreply 18September 29, 2018 3:29 PM

The fact that posters are so anxious to cross out OP makes me think its very damaging.

by Anonymousreply 19September 29, 2018 3:29 PM

Swetnick brought claims of sexual harassment against this Portland web analytics company she worked for and they sued her for defamation and claimed she tried to defraud them and lied over her credentials.

Swetncik also sued another employer, New York Life, for sexual harassment.

Republicans specialize in character assassination. Look at what they did to Jimmy Carter, a devout Christian who served in the Navy & educated as a nuclear physicist. Or decorated war hero John Kerry. Or MLK...and the Clintons, the only Dems who could beat them elections.

Look into Bretty’s background...explain his finances. Explain why he can’t answer simple questions like how much beer is too much beer...what was the legal drinking age when you were a senior in high school...did you attack Christine Blasey (not “Dr. Ford”)...explain “Renate Alumni”, “boof”, & “Devil’s Triangle.”

And if this woman was indeed gang raped in high school...how could anyone expect her to just sail through life problem-free?

I’ve made life mistakes. I’ve experimented with drugs & sex. I’ve been to lots of keg parties. Does that mean it’s ok to rape me? Should I expect it? Because I’m not perfect and therefore have no credibility?

Bretty says he LIKES BEER. That’s his privilege. But can a woman LIKE BEER & expect to not get raped?

Why can he have fun on high school & college & still have credibility?

Because republicans are HYPOCRITES who exploit women...they profit from & are protected by their double- & triple- standards. Repub men get away with everything.

They have all the money & therefore all the power. It’s their world.

AND THEY’RE STILL NOT HAPPY.

They are ANGRY that they can’t force us to think what they want us to think. It pisses them off that despite all their money & power, women still have free will.

I’m sick of angry white men. Spoiled brats. Very dangerous spoiled brats...lethal even.

by Anonymousreply 21September 29, 2018 3:37 PM

Poor Julie Swetnick.

Gang raped in front of Brett Kavanaugh.

Works briefly at a now long-established web analytics firm and they sue her for defamation for bringing sexual harassment claims.

Works briefly for New York Life insurance company and she has to bring sexual harassment charges against them.

Evil ex boyfriend files for a restraining order against her.

So many terrible events.

by Anonymousreply 22September 29, 2018 3:41 PM

Republican men ABSOLUTELY DESPISE intelligent women.

What does that say about them...that they HATE smart women?

White men are over. They earned this fall.

Patriarchy is unhealthy. It should be rejected at all levels.

The world is totally fucked up... because men are in charge.

Those days are over.

by Anonymousreply 23September 29, 2018 3:41 PM

R22, we all see what you are doing.

Girls who survive gang rape don’t have an easy rest of their lives.

Gang rape is torture.

Do you think it does not exist?

Do you think rape should not be against the law?

Do you think rich white boys don’t rape?

by Anonymousreply 24September 29, 2018 3:44 PM

Avenatti touting her "clearances" is moronic.

She is a frickin IT vendor in DC. They all have basic mundane clearances. That fuels the entire economy of DC / Virginia. Those aren't real security clearances.

by Anonymousreply 25September 29, 2018 3:45 PM

What is “Devil’s Triangle” and “boof”?

by Anonymousreply 26September 29, 2018 3:47 PM

Why is there NO ONE who can place Swetnick in same social universe as Kavanaugh?

When did they meet?

Who did they know in common who put them at same parties time and time again?

by Anonymousreply 27September 29, 2018 3:47 PM

You old men just despise women don't ya? you must hate being alive today and seeing your precious 'man first' values being flushed down the toilet.

by Anonymousreply 28September 29, 2018 3:48 PM

There is speculation that Swetnick is a "right wing" plant. Designed to make Avenatti look bad, I am not saying it is just that the speculation is out there, but I wouldn't put it beyond them.

by Anonymousreply 29September 29, 2018 3:49 PM

She wrote this accusation under “threat of felony” just like Kavanaugh said the people at the party did saying they don’t recall it.

If they are to be believed because of the possibility of felony, shouldn’t she?

FBI, please do your job

by Anonymousreply 30September 29, 2018 3:53 PM

R29, if she’s found to be a liar, she goes to jail, not Avenatti. She knows that

by Anonymousreply 31September 29, 2018 3:54 PM

So we have the 'no one is perfect' shit being applied to Kavanaugh but all accusers have to be perfect in order to be believed?

by Anonymousreply 32September 29, 2018 3:56 PM

What is sad is that Avenatti has been litigating a long time.

He almost certainly knows she is nuts -- and could end up perjuring herself -- but does not give a shit.

by Anonymousreply 33September 29, 2018 3:57 PM

[quote] if she’s found to be a liar, she goes to jail

Doubtful, I am too lazy to look it up but she would probably end up with probation at the best.

by Anonymousreply 34September 29, 2018 3:58 PM

What a shame she hasn't got a lawyer with integrity like Giuliani to represent her R33

by Anonymousreply 35September 29, 2018 4:00 PM

by Anonymousreply 37September 29, 2018 4:15 PM

"Devil's Triangle" = MMF threeway. Boys aren't allowed to kiss.

"Boofing" = depending on who you talk to, taking alcohol or drugs up the butt.

by Anonymousreply 38September 29, 2018 4:18 PM

that's right R36 you are sickening...and not in the drag race way.

by Anonymousreply 39September 29, 2018 4:36 PM

Avenatti can just go to the FBI with his evidence, like anyone who has evidence against Kavanaugh can. He's waiting for them to come to him. Smells like bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 40September 29, 2018 4:36 PM

America smells like bullshit and worse R40

by Anonymousreply 41September 29, 2018 5:02 PM

You have to be a bit brainwashed not to be dubious of Swetnick.

Already someone on this thread suggested the trauma from her gang rape may have caused her to bring repeated sexual harassment charges against various employers (charges alleged to have been defamatory in a court of law).

If you hear hooves, think horses not zebras.

If someone brings Me Too allegations and this is their third time in court (at a minimum) on Me Too allegations, and one of those times she got sued for defamation, time to put down the Kool-Aid.

by Anonymousreply 42September 29, 2018 8:19 PM

Can you get in trouble for a false accusation? What kind of risk is she under legally?

I suspect this will be Avenatti's downfall.

by Anonymousreply 43September 29, 2018 9:26 PM

It is really interesting to read about WebTrends. A good friend of mine was sexually harassed on the job there in the 90s- it was an awful boy's club back then.

by Anonymousreply 44September 29, 2018 9:36 PM

Avenatti jumped the shark with Swetnick.

by Anonymousreply 45September 29, 2018 11:28 PM

Oh good r42.

I’m so glad women only get harassed once in their lives.

If they claim it happens more than once, then they must be lying.

WebTrends...what a joke.

IT is notoriously misogynistic...that field probably has more incels than any other. But if a gang rape victim sued them, then something must wrong with her. 🙄

Men seem to think their beliefs are true...like their psychics or something. They really think they know everything. They fucking wish.

by Anonymousreply 46September 30, 2018 1:29 AM

The AP is reporting on yet another grift game run by Julie Swetnick:

"Swetnick filed a lawsuit against the Washington DC Metro Transit Authority claiming that she lost $420,000 in income as an ACTRESS and MODEL after injuring her nose during a fall on a train in 1992.

She quoted in the suit a friend as someone who could no longer hire her for modeling work because of her injury.

But Ko told the Associated Press that he did not own a studio and that he never hired Swetnick for modeling work."

He also told the AP that he met Swetnick more than a year after she allegedly injured her nose. “I didn’t have any money back then. I (was) broke as can be” he said.

by Anonymousreply 47September 30, 2018 11:30 PM

Easy to see why she would team with Avenatti

by Anonymousreply 48October 1, 2018 2:47 AM

Julie Swetnick changes her story.

NBC News started off by noting it could not independently verify her claims. Swetnick spoke to NBC News correspondent Kate Snow about her allegations, made in a statement released last week, that Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge attended a party where she was drugged and gang raped. While she did not accuse Kavanaugh of assaulting her, she claimed she witnessed him participate in gang rapes. Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations and denied even knowing Swetnick.

Swetnick, a current government employee being represented by lawyer Michael Avenatti, told Snow that at parties Kavanaugh was “very aggressive, very sloppy drunk, very mean drunk.”

“I saw him go up to girls and paw on them… touching them in private parts, try and shift clothing,” she claimed. “I saw him push girls against walls. He would pretend to stumble and stumble into them, push them into a wall. He would grope them.”

NBC News noted there were differences in Swetnick’s initial statement and her comments to the outlet, notably her assertion that Kavanaugh spiked punch at the parties so that groups of boys could rape girls.

Swetnick did not confirm that she saw Kavanaugh spike punch, but simply said she “saw him around the punch containers.”

“I don’t know what he did,” she told NBC.

She also appeared to backtrack on her suggestion that Kavanaugh was involved in gang rapes, saying she only saw him congregated with other boys outside of rooms. When Snow asked if she thought the boys were gathered in order to rape girls in the rooms, Swetnick replied “yes.”

“It’s just too coincidental,” she said.

She continued that she came to that realization when she was raped herself. She said her assault happened at a party at the hands of multiple boys after her drink was spiked. She said that while she did not know if Kavanaugh and Judge participated in her rape, they were at the party near her where she began to feel sick.

She added that she contacted the police and told her mother about the alleged assault.

At Kavanaugh’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he called Swetnick’s allegations “a joke.”

“He’s a liar,” Swetnick told NBC News in response to Kavanaugh.

Swetnick also responded to reports on lawsuits filed against her by her former employer, and a restraining order filed against her by an ex-boyfriend.

She provided four names to NBC News that she said could confirm her descriptions of the parties in the 1980s. NBC News contacted all four: one said they did not remember a Julie Swetnick, one was dead, and two did not respond, per Snow.
