Does anyone know if you can have surgery to reduce cheekbones?

I have very high cheekbones and have always hated them, especially because they make my face look wide and overly sculpted. Is it possible to have them shaved down?

by Anonymousreply 80September 28, 2018 9:08 AM

Poor thing you sound hideously deformed

by Anonymousreply 1September 24, 2018 4:13 AM

Just have a truck run over your face.

by Anonymousreply 2September 24, 2018 4:14 AM

Humblebrag!

by Anonymousreply 3September 24, 2018 4:16 AM

Most people would die for high cheekbones. Get filler to even out your face

by Anonymousreply 4September 24, 2018 4:16 AM

Just have all your back molars removed.

by Anonymousreply 5September 24, 2018 4:16 AM

Hi Adam Rippon!

by Anonymousreply 6September 24, 2018 4:17 AM

OP How old are you?

by Anonymousreply 8September 24, 2018 4:21 AM

No, R3, not humblebraging. The widest part of my face is right under my eyes, I feel it's a little too wide in that area. Also, my face has a contoured look to it because of how high my cheekbones are.

Would filler really balance it out do you think, R4? I know you said not really in the tag line, but your comment got me thinking.

by Anonymousreply 9September 24, 2018 4:22 AM

I'm 24, R7.

by Anonymousreply 10September 24, 2018 4:23 AM

OP is Benedict Sasquach?

by Anonymousreply 11September 24, 2018 4:23 AM

Are you of Cossack origin?

by Anonymousreply 12September 24, 2018 4:25 AM

You could get a boob job and then people wouldn't stare at your deformed freak face.

by Anonymousreply 13September 24, 2018 4:26 AM

If it is right under your eyes, you can't really screw around with that area. There is a very important nerve that comes out right there. If you were talking about the sides of your face - maybe they could but I've never heard of it (at least not in the USA, those Korean plastic surgery factories seem to do everything).

by Anonymousreply 14September 24, 2018 4:26 AM

I just also realized that if you get jaw implants, it'll balance it out. Obviously without a pic I am just guessing, but maybe it only looks tapered and disproportionate because your jaw is small.

by Anonymousreply 15September 24, 2018 4:28 AM

Go to South Korea. Their cosmetic surgeons are apparently able to do just about anything to modify a face.

by Anonymousreply 16September 24, 2018 4:30 AM

OK, I dont look like this guy, but he has the same thing going on with his facial structure as I do. See that sort of bump that goes up near his eye that swoops up to the side of his face? That's what I have too and would like it gone.

by Anonymousreply 17September 24, 2018 4:30 AM

Yup submit a pic. The DL is simply brimming with world class plastic surgeons who are more than happy to give you a free consultation. Judging from R17 fillers are the answer

by Anonymousreply 18September 24, 2018 4:31 AM

Take up bare knuckle boxing.

by Anonymousreply 19September 24, 2018 4:32 AM

OP, you're a sicko.

by Anonymousreply 20September 24, 2018 4:33 AM

R17s cheeks are what people pay for.

I can't imagine any American surgeon doing this... unless it was some kind of extreme excess of bone that made you look disfigured. The question also is - how thick is the bone there? Maybe it's just arched out too much and not thick enough to be shaved down like a jaw bone. I'm guessing you'd have to get a 3D CT scan to know if it is possible.

by Anonymousreply 21September 24, 2018 4:34 AM

OP, do you want to look abnormal? That guy you linked looks fine.

Do you want your face to flare out at your jaw? Would that make your head look too big for your body?

by Anonymousreply 22September 24, 2018 4:35 AM

Lol, I'm not submitting a pic, R18.

I guess it's not really a bump, more like a ridge where the bone extends to almost the side of my face, like the guy in R17. I don't want to totally get rid of it but I'd like it reduced just a bit.

by Anonymousreply 23September 24, 2018 4:37 AM

OP is NOT Cher!

OP tens of thousands of Americans every year pay a great deal to have that guy's cheekbones. What's the matter with you?

by Anonymousreply 25September 24, 2018 4:59 AM

No OP you might as well run away and join the circus since you'll never be employable amongst normies with your deformity.

by Anonymousreply 26September 24, 2018 5:02 AM

OP, you're gonna look like this in 5 years. Enjoy your face now.

Only get surgery that is necessary. I heard today about someone getting a MRSA infection after a mastectomy. Infections are becoming common in hospitals. Don't get cut unless you need to.

Eat some carbs op. Carb face might soften your bone structure that you dislike. (or just learn to accept yourself as you are. Hard to do but a good goal.)

"I NEED PLASTIC SURGERY TO CORRECT MY CRIPPLING BEAUTY" screams internet fuggo # 672358. "NO DELUSION IS TOO OBVIOUS FOR A BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER LIKE MINE!"

by Anonymousreply 29September 24, 2018 5:06 AM

I bet you look fine r23, or are you self conscious about looking ethnic?

I have high, prominent cheekbones from a Scandinavian background. People never forget my face. My nose is also prominent and angular, aquiline, as is my chin and lesser so, my jaw. In my youth I was often told I should pursue a career in modelling.

But for years I hated my angular face. I would gaze at myself in profile using mirrors in the bathroom and be startled by my own witch-like appearance. It scared me, it convinced me I would spend my life as an ugly, lonely gay man. I ended up in a few abusive relationships because I felt they were the best I could get.

Then I was told to go for a modelling audition. Me? I'm ugly. But I did it, to positive results. I started with catalogue shots, after losing about 30 lbs. I didn't enjoy it, didn't enjoy the lecherous old bottoms trying to get into my pants, gave it up, but it gave me much more confidence about my looks.

by Anonymousreply 30September 24, 2018 5:07 AM

Forgive me for saying so, but you sound like a very young 24-year-old. Without seeing a photo of you, your complaint sounds like a reflection of youthful (or neurotic) hyper-self-consciousness. Give yourself time before you do something unnatural to yourself.

by Anonymousreply 33September 24, 2018 5:38 AM

OP what does your cock look like though?

by Anonymousreply 34September 24, 2018 5:39 AM

I can’t stand how pretty I am; is there any surgery to make me look uglier?

by Anonymousreply 35September 24, 2018 5:55 AM

They've always bothered me, R30, I just don't like the way they look, and I don't think I'm some pretty boy at all, R35. Even my boyfriend said I should have them fixed to tone down how angular my face is if I want. I'm not humblebraging, I wish there was something I could do to change my appearance, even if it's subtle.

by Anonymousreply 36September 24, 2018 6:15 AM

O for the love of god...

by Anonymousreply 37September 24, 2018 6:19 AM

Are you manorexic, OP? Or one of those gym freaks with 0% body fat?

by Anonymousreply 38September 24, 2018 6:21 AM

I work out but not a gym freak, R38.

by Anonymousreply 39September 24, 2018 6:23 AM

Don’t listen to your BF. Accept your looks. Prominent cheekbones are part of the genetic lottery. Next thing you know you’ll be asking us how to recede your hairline...I mean, come on!

by Anonymousreply 40September 24, 2018 6:32 AM

Go to realself and post your pic so surgeons can answer. I doubt it can be done. While it is a "desirable trait" - not all people who have cheekbones like that are attractive. However, you are probably focusing on the wrong thing. Benedict Cumberbatch has high cheekbones but if he had them "shaved down" he'd look even worse. He has other issues on his face (tiny eyes, huge forehead, very long face) - that make him odd looking in my opinion, though some people find him very attractive (I don't get it at all).

Darling OP, your picture suggest that your cheekbones are the least of your problems.

by Anonymousreply 42September 24, 2018 7:15 AM

Actually if youre a guy it can kind of be too much I get it. But for us ladies there really is not such a thing, so I can’t relate.

I’m actually all good with my cheekbones but my nose I feel has changed for the worse the last couple of years - and I’ve heretofore been totally fine with it. So it’s annoying - especially since to fix it would require surgery - unlike just about everything else.

With all the technology we have - heck, you can change the entire shape of you jaw now with just injections- why there has yet to be invented a way to shrink cartilage /skin draping in general is beyond me...

by Anonymousreply 43September 24, 2018 7:21 AM

Op you sound like you have body dysmorphia. If you deal with that you will accept your cheekbones. Dump the boyfriend who plays on lowering your self esteem. A lot of people have things they feel they don't like at 20 and get over it and are happy with their looks by 30. I remember wanting a nose job at 16 and being thankful later on that I didn't mess around with my face.

by Anonymousreply 44September 24, 2018 7:25 AM

You just need a new haircut.

by Anonymousreply 45September 24, 2018 7:26 AM

OP, it’s not like you’re a leper because part of your face was blown away in a shotgun accident or house fire. WTF.

Grow the fuck up.

Google “shotgun injury to the face,” and fuck off with your irrelevant first world whining.

by Anonymousreply 46September 24, 2018 8:33 AM

OP this is R7 who asked your age.

Here's why: when you are older you will get down on your knees and thank your lucky stars for your cheekbones and wider face. When I was young I hated having what I saw as a big roundish heart shaped face(like Christie Brinkley.) I wanted a thin sucked in cheeks face like the high fashion models. Well now I am pushing the big 60, and just like CB, I have aged pretty well because of the fullness of my face. I am not saying that I LOOK like CB, but my face shake and cheek bones do. Think about all the people who start pumping in fillers and cheek implants to build up the volume after 45. And it never looks so good does it? Keep your face. It will pay great dividends when you really need them.

by Anonymousreply 47September 24, 2018 8:45 AM

I'm not whining, I only asked about plastic surgery, R46.

by Anonymousreply 48September 24, 2018 10:31 AM

I have extremely high cheekbones due to Scandinavian ancestry. Like someone else said, no one forgets my face either. I get a lot of questions about my ancestry because many can’t pinpoint what I am. My spouse says I do not look like a typical American.

With that said and since I have some authority to speak for high cheekbone people, OP is being a massive trolling dick in this thread.

by Anonymousreply 49September 24, 2018 10:41 AM

OP, trust me, high cheekbones are a very good thing.

You would be a fucking idiot to try to get rid of them.

by Anonymousreply 50September 24, 2018 10:45 AM

I'm not trolling, R49. I cant prove it it I'm not.

by Anonymousreply 51September 24, 2018 10:49 AM

Just wear a fucking burkha.

by Anonymousreply 52September 24, 2018 10:55 AM

Not to steal OP's thunder, but I can really relate to his struggle. I feel like my nose is far too straight, chiseled and masculine! I posted a pic to show what it looks like. Does anyone know what surgical procedures are available for me?

When. Max was in NYC filming that 911 film Up Close So Far, or wtf, he waved at me during a break. Thrill of a lifetime!

by Anonymousreply 54September 24, 2018 11:05 AM

Of course you can prove it, by posting your pic. Put a black bar over your eyes and nose if you want.

by Anonymousreply 55September 24, 2018 11:26 AM

Maybe I will, but even if I do that R55, I can't prove to you how it bothers me.

by Anonymousreply 56September 24, 2018 11:44 AM

What is your ethnicity

by Anonymousreply 57September 24, 2018 11:45 AM

Scottish and German from my one grandma, R57.

by Anonymousreply 58September 24, 2018 11:51 AM

My high cheekbones are arguably my greatest asset.

by Anonymousreply 59September 24, 2018 1:05 PM

Yeah, it's called "carb binge" op. Your problem will be solved by eating lots of fatty, carby, narcotically delicious food that human bodies are pre-disposed to binge on.

DL desperately awaits news of if this treatment on the 24 year-old, poor dear with too high cheekbones is a success.

by Anonymousreply 63September 25, 2018 2:18 AM

Has PMBT assumed a new race?

by Anonymousreply 64September 25, 2018 2:22 AM

You could get breast implants in your cheeks. No one will ever notice your high cheek bones again.

by Anonymousreply 65September 25, 2018 2:47 AM

OP, try make up but in reverse. Put the highlighter when the contour goes and vice-versa. You're welcome.

by Anonymousreply 66September 25, 2018 2:54 AM

Has OP confirmed that he's actually male?

by Anonymousreply 67September 26, 2018 9:47 AM

OP, you can do pretty much anything in South Korea.

In the US, they can't do anything for that area that isn't minor--fillers, tightening surgeries. You can also do a jam implant, but that will change the entire composition of the face. Up to you.

by Anonymousreply 68September 26, 2018 10:05 AM

Mads that you?

by Anonymousreply 69September 26, 2018 10:23 AM

OP, I was made fun of for my cheekbones growing up. The nicest thing old ladies could say about me was that I was "distinctive" and "unique" looking. Now that I'm 10 lbs overweight, the bottom of my face is fuller and no one notices my cheekbones. I eat pasta daily and keep my weight on the slightly high side to keep the softer look.

"I NEED PLASTIC SURGERY TO CORRECT MY CRIPPLING BEAUTY"

I'm going to start randomly screaming that at Wal-Mart.

by Anonymousreply 71September 26, 2018 4:18 PM

You're an ungrateful bitch OP! And/or you might have body dysmorphic disorder. But I agree Korea would have to be the place, because they do some pretty intense facial surgery all the time, and I've never heard of someone in America getting their cheekbones reduced.

by Anonymousreply 72September 26, 2018 4:20 PM

OP [italic]has[/italic] to be either trolling, humblebragging, or suffering from a major case of BDD (as others have mentioned). I honestly can't imagine high/prominent cheekbones making a face look less attractive.

The only thing that would make them look bad is if one's body fat is too low. I remember thinking that that creepy mass shooter in Florida, David Katz, had weird-looking cheekbones, but then I realized that it was more due to the fact he was anorexic (like his lookalike/act-alike, Adam Lanza).

Even Benedict Cumberbatch's cheekbones are his best facial feature, aside from his eye color. The reason he looks like a martian is more due to the combo of long, narrow head, prominent forehead and oddly inward-slanting eyes; use your finger to cover his eye/forehead area and you're left with a sexy male face.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 73September 27, 2018 12:14 AM

R67, I'm male and not trolling. Like I already said, my facial structure has always bothered me because of the ridges/bumps from my cheekbones and how wide my face looks.

I don't even think I'm that good looking. I'm average looks wise and would look better if those bumps near my eyes that extend to the side of my face weren't there.

Unfortunately there's no way I can afford to go to Korea for surgery now but if I had the money I'd think about it.

by Anonymousreply 74September 27, 2018 3:27 AM

OP, put up or shut up: take a fucking selfie wearing sunglasses and a hat, and tuck your lips in so we can't see them at all, and fucking POST IT FOR US TO JUDGE/ADVISE.

by Anonymousreply 75September 27, 2018 10:46 AM

R17 is gorgeous. Really hot guy.

Do you think you might have some dysmorphia about your appearance, OP? “Prominent cheekbones” is a thing people pay surgeons FOR, not to “fix.”

by Anonymousreply 76September 27, 2018 10:52 AM

OP, don't fuck with your face. That could be the dumbest thing you ever do.

by Anonymousreply 77September 27, 2018 11:15 AM

A beard or heavy stubble might balance things out. I'm thinking of a dark haired Italian model who pulls off this look.

by Anonymousreply 78September 27, 2018 12:11 PM

[quote] I don't even think I'm that good looking. I'm average looks wise and would look better if those bumps near my eyes that extend to the side of my face weren't there.

OP the majority of people don't concentrate on any one aspect of your face but take in the overall appearance. I believe it bothers you but I also think you are over thinking it, you if you could get the surgery and it was successful with what you wish, I don't think anyone would notice the difference. So the problem is you and is inside your head not the outside of your head, that might be the area you want to have work done.

by Anonymousreply 79September 27, 2018 5:58 PM
