Netflix Movie Terrifier Makes "It" Look Like A Goosebumps Episode

This is by far the scariest movie clown, no the scariest clown, I've ever seen. The movie is absolutely sadistic, sad, and upsetting in parts, but the actor playing the clown is amazing. He doesn't say one word but he doesn't have to. He's dangerous and unpredictable. I felt really dirty watching it, but at the same time I wanted to recommend to everyone I know. This will stay with you forever.

I work in horror, everybody's been screaming about this movie for months, I watched it and...meh

Hi Bill Skarsgård at R1.

No, just someone who constantly hears about how X and Y horror film "reinvents the genre" or "is the greatest film ever" and am almost always let down by hype.

When the writing, editing and tone feels like a high school media productions class project, I hit back to the main menu. I did that with this one.

Ignore the naysayers, OP is right. Art the Clown is the first heir to the Jason/Freddy/Michael Myers crown that actually deserves it. There's a scene late in the film where he opts for a more...feminine look that was one of the creepiest scenes I've ever seen in a horror movie. Yes, the low budget roots creeps in from time to time (especially in the performances of some of the female roles), but the director and star have a big horror career in front of them. I'm happy to tune in to any sequel.

Why the hell did you only put one movie title in quotes, OP?

Anyway, OP/R5 = shills. This movie looks like your typical B-grade, schlocky piece of crap. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but why bother trying to pass it off as something special.

Thanks for the promotion, OP/Netflix PR Flak!

What is this movie called? What do I search for?

by Anonymousreply 8September 20, 2018 12:10 AM

R7, here's a link to a discussion of the film on Reddit. Are all these people paid shills too?

For Christ's sakes, are we allowed to like or recommend ANYTHING without being accused of being some paid shill?

It's called Terrifer, R8

by Anonymousreply 10September 20, 2018 1:23 AM

R4 The presentation was a little off on Netflix. The movie looked soft, grey, and washed out for some reason. However, I'd take a low budget film made by passionate filmmakers than dreck like The Nun or Annabelle with their extremely high production values.

r9, if OP is not a paid shill, he's sure doing a great job writing exactly like one.
