Michael Paré
Just caught a bit of "Streets of Fire" on cable... and I'm just floored by how beautiful Michael Paré is.
I would say "What ever happened to"... but according to IMDB, he's been in dozens and dozens of things recently... just nothing I've ever seen. He's got a ton of projects in progress, and again, haven't heard of any of them, and can't recall the last time I saw him in anything.
He was huge in the 80s, and then... apparently fell off a cliff while simultaneously getting even MORE work (I guess a lot of big parts?)
So strange.

I wouldn't say he was huge in the eighties. Streets of Fire was a flop (I love it though) and Pare never really got A-List roles. Tom Cruise came along and took them.

Here's what he retweets (pretty on the outside, though).

He was uber hot in the tv show series Houston Knights and also in the movie, Eddie and the cruisers/think he was managed by Jay Bernstein. Seems like he got married when he was at his hottest and moved for a while to Italy? Beautiful face and bod in his prime

Oh god, he retweets James Woods? Goddammit.
How is he getting so much work right now? I mean, seriously, check out his IMDB. It's like six projects a year for the last decade...

Professionally, he's like Billy Zane or Eric Roberts, and will do any script that is offered to him. Politically, he's as rancid as James Woods or Dennis Miller.

Yeah, he was really hot. He must have been an awful actor, which is my recollection/suspicion, or difficult, or both.
Retweeting Woods just kills the fantasy, though.

Well, after watching a little of 'Streets of Fire", his delivery was pretty monotone, so yeah, not the best actor.
But he was just jaw-droppingly gorgeous in that movie.
Sad he turned into a right-wing asshole.

He's a handsome daddy now.

Most people aren't aware that he is also a classically trained chef trained at the Culinary Institute Of America. He was working as a chef when he was discovered by a talent agent who convinced him to try acting.

he was hot as fuck, but it was obvious he didn't have the IT factor to become a real star

I saw him walking down the street around Columbus Circle. Yes he was gorgeous in person. This was probably around the time of Eddy And The Cruisers. He looked like he didn't really care if he was noticed. He was a terrible actor though but super hot.

I always felt sorry for the guy. He was the cover guy on the first issue of Men’s Fitness magazine - along with cheesy headline about Michael Pare is hot! - or something along those lines....
Then twelve months later in their first anniversary issue, the editorial notes so much has happened in that year - and one of their comments is along the lines of ‘...Michael Pare - who? Whatever happened to him/his career?’ - that’s kinda paraphrased - it was much nastier, wittier shade! And I always wondered how the guy would have felt upon reading that - and you know he would have had to have read it!
Still - always assumed when someone so poised for a decent career just drops out of sight - that they were epic assholes and people just didn’t wanna work with them - and their box office was only marginal and therefore they could easily be replaced by another pretty person from the queue waiting for a chance at fame and fortune.
But nowadays - I wonder if he might have had his moment of saying no to someone high up and powerful who wanted a piece of him? That’s clearly just as common and valid a reason for it all stalling...
I hope it’s the former though. Surely re-tweeting Janie’s Woods is indicative of being an epic asshole?

I majorly crushed on him back in the day...too bad about his politics...he did tons of direct to video crap, all of it pretty bad.

Most of his work was DTV. A pity about his politics.

He wasn't a very good actor. Looked good though.

Re-tweeting the asshole James Woods now defines your politics? I know people who have re-tweeted him to show how horrible he is.
