Leslie Jordan

Been trawling through YouTube and came across Leslie Jordan, well known to many from Will and Grace and Sordid Lives. What a hoot!

Zero fucking replies....has he betrayed us in some way?

by Anonymousreply 1September 12, 2018 7:25 PM

People think Will & Grace wrote the Beverly Leslie character for Leslie, but the name similarity is just a coincidence. They'd never heard of him before, he just happened to win the audition for the role. He won an Emmy playing Beverly Leslie!

Forget where I saw it (maybe OutTV) but his “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet” tv special was funny.

I loved his run-ins with Frenchy Morgan on Celebrity Big Brother.

He's co-starring in that new Fox sitcom with David Alan Grier, Vicki Lawrence, and Martin Mull.

Cool Kids

i adore him. and read his book. he is realistic and hilarious AF.

by Anonymousreply 7September 13, 2018 5:56 AM

he's the deal

by Anonymousreply 8September 13, 2018 6:00 AM

He shops at Target in WeHo.

by Anonymousreply 9September 13, 2018 6:15 AM

He worked with Faye in her short lived sitcom It Had to Be You in one of the four unaired episodes.

He talks about the experience in his one man show My Life on the Pink Carpet. It's a great story.

The unaired episodes of Dunaway's show better come to surface one day. Or there'll be hell to pay.

He was BRILLIANT in that role on W+G. Glad to know he won the Guest Emmy at some point.

by Anonymousreply 11September 13, 2018 6:21 AM

I used to confuse him for Henry Gibson in Magnolia.

Love Leslie, as a giant, his tininess fascinates me. And "Sordid Lives" was great fun, 'tasteful" bitches be damned.

Didn't he have a run on "Reba" too? I'll have to go poking around in The Peoples Republic of Video (YT) and see what can be seen.

If he is shopping in WeHo, does this mean the insufferable cunt won't be at the Midtown Atl Walmart ?

by Anonymousreply 14September 13, 2018 7:54 AM

This clip made me laugh.

So funny to see him fighting with Gary Busey on CBB

by Anonymousreply 16January 24, 2019 1:50 PM

He's supposed to be the new Rose on the Golden Girls inspired Cool Kids.

by Anonymousreply 17January 24, 2019 1:59 PM

Who else thinks r14 is far more likely to be a mean, insufferable, cunt than Leslie? It's losers galore on DL.

by Anonymousreply 18January 24, 2019 2:02 PM

I loved his off Broadway show. One of his stories had our group in hysterics about his guest appearance on a Mark Harmon show. I would love him to get a character on some long running sitcom.

by Anonymousreply 19January 24, 2019 2:27 PM

His angry rant directed at the dog being allowed to eat while he's starving, in the Thanksgiving episode of The Cool Kids, is one of his best work imho.

by Anonymousreply 20January 24, 2019 3:35 PM

R19 I loved that show too... I cried a lot!! Mary!!

by Anonymousreply 21January 24, 2019 7:21 PM

He’s a genius. He pinched my ass at Hamburger Mary’s in WeHo.

by Anonymousreply 22January 24, 2019 7:57 PM

You don't think "The Cool Kids" will be long-running? It's a lock to be renewed.

by Anonymousreply 23January 25, 2019 3:16 AM

He said he was in a really toxic relationship with a cowboy during the filming of that movie Jason Goes to Hell.

by Anonymousreply 24March 18, 2020 9:53 AM

"I've learned a very valuable lesson about your loved ones... cremate, always cremate!"

I'm going to have that embroidered on a pillow.

by Anonymousreply 25March 18, 2020 10:29 AM

Leslie Jordan appeared on a episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Mary Richards dated this short guy, and then she tried to convince Rhoda, Phyllis and company that she didn’t at all mind dating a short guy. And then Mary inadvertently referred to him as a shrimp.

by Anonymousreply 26March 18, 2020 10:40 AM

R23 did not age well

by Anonymousreply 27March 18, 2020 11:05 AM

He was not the short guy on MTM. That was Hamilton Camp.

by Anonymousreply 28March 18, 2020 2:58 PM

And Dr. Jonathan Newman was the shrimp.

by Anonymousreply 29March 18, 2020 6:00 PM

I guess it wasn't that much of a "lock."

by Anonymousreply 30March 18, 2020 6:00 PM

He is a comic genius and during this shitty lockdown time.. I will turn to YouTube and post some of his clips
