He's better than Ben at least.
Why do some people despise or not like Matt Damon?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 15, 2018 9:09 PM |
Jealousy.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | September 12, 2018 2:26 AM |
He told gay actors they should hide in the closet. He was a douchebag on the last season of "Project Greenlight" telling the producer than diversity in production doesn't matter. He has said a lot of things that rile people up.

What's his cup size?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | September 12, 2018 2:29 AM |
I secretly find Ben sexy. I bet he fucks well. A hundred strippers can't be wrong.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | September 12, 2018 2:32 AM |
I forgot all that, r2. Sticks his foot in his mouth a lot like Biden.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | September 12, 2018 2:33 AM |
Yeah, he’s a phony limousine liberal. I can’t stand him.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | September 12, 2018 2:49 AM |
I bet the sunglasses are the most expensive item he’s wearing in that picture.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | September 12, 2018 2:55 AM |
I never got his appeal. AWG at best.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | September 12, 2018 3:22 AM |
He is an American everyman.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | September 12, 2018 3:34 AM |
It’s because of his rabbit-faced waitress wife.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | September 12, 2018 6:28 AM |
Front or back cup, R3?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | September 12, 2018 6:34 AM |
It's not just his idiotic schtick "the public shouldn't know about gay actors' personal lives but oh here's my family, see how straight I am". And he's done this while some of his bigger roles playing gay men.
He ran around trashing President Obama as ineffective and weak (try leading the fucking US in a post-Reagan, Tea Party world dumbass Matt, especially as a black man, which you can never do).
On Project Greenlight he told the only black woman on the show that he believed in diversity in casting, but not casting his own show (telling her it's about having the best people). Most of his movies – produced by him – have been overwhelmingly white. He then goes on to appear as the white star in a movie set in China, correctly claiming he's not playing an Asian role, but that the lead was always meant to be "European". You know, to sell it to European audiences. Kind of a white diversity program to make white people feel good about watching it.
And let's not forget his only Oscar win is based on a script re-written by other people, which he still rides on for his legitimacy.
He's a limited actor overselling himself and who talks too much. I have never seen a trailer with Matt Damon and wanted to see a film or TV project because he's in it.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | September 12, 2018 6:59 AM |
Listen to him go on and on and stumble over his words in these interviews, speaking as if he is THE authoritative voice on sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement. What a fucking douchebag. I hate this guy.
He just comes across as someone who is a total fucking asshole in his private life.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | September 12, 2018 7:09 AM |
He has done many things that bug me, as well, but I still love his face, dad bod, and that ass. And no, it doesn't look womanly to me.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | September 12, 2018 7:16 AM |
^He's a "well-spoken" asshat (but I still want dat ass)
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 12, 2018 7:17 AM |
I admire him.
Some people don't like him because he us a liberal and not a racist. That's all it is.

OP, you are fucking insane STALKER. Kill yourself, please.
Typing the name Matt Damon should result in automatic banning.

I’m sick of him for all the reasons mentioned above. I used to think that he had integrity and dignity, everything his buddy Ben lacked. But he’s even worse than him. Because he is hypocritical and two-faced. I will never ever watch another one of his movies or anything else that he makes or produces. He’s tainted...

Taint. Tehe.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | September 12, 2018 4:15 PM |
I've been a fan of Matt Damon even before he broke out big in Good Will Hunting, and I still am today. He seems a lot more normal and stable than his buddy Ben Affleck.

R22=Stop it Matt.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 12, 2018 4:33 PM |
R23 I'm Ben, not Matt.

What do you think the ideal role for him would be at this stage of his career?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 12, 2018 4:41 PM |
Concubine for David Geffen...oh wait, three times too old for David.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 12, 2018 4:43 PM |
He is such a fucking bore. I remember when he played the psycho and Interstellar and thought "good casting". I'm so tired of hearing his voice droning on and on and on.
I didn't see Downsizing because he was in it.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | September 12, 2018 5:11 PM |
He plays assholes surprisingly well (Interstellar, The Departed).
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 12, 2018 5:58 PM |
He’s a typical Hollywood elitist who knows better than you, and likes to tell you how you should be living your life.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 12, 2018 6:03 PM |
Should he be the next Superman?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 12, 2018 8:22 PM |

Bar Patron #3 or maybe Man On Sidewalk.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 13, 2018 4:35 AM |
As a fan of his, I despise his recent taste in movie projects. This is the guy that gave us Ripley, The Departed, The Good Shepherd. Tremendous performances in incredible movies. The last three movies I saw him in were downsizing, suburbicon, and great wall of fucking china. God awful movies and he was god awful in all of them.
People are down on Damon, no question. He buried Ben Affleck with the harvey weinstein stuff, though. Affleck said he had no idea about harvey's behavior and was sorry to hear about all these indiscretions in an official statement. A week later Damon was promoting a movie with Clooney and said "Oh yeah, I knew about Harvey because Ben told me when he was dating Gwyneth."
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 15, 2018 5:59 PM |
I'm with you on everything after the first two sentences. I thought he was pretty good in Courage Under Fire and Saving Private Ryan and deserved his Oscar nom in Good Will Hunting (showing some real emotion). His Ripley completely lacked the sexuality required for it. He redeemed himself on that front in Behind the Candelabra, to an extent, in a solid performance, but most of the rest of his other stuff is either a total bore a total asshole.
Definitely not a fan.
But I will say what Damon's role in the Weinstein shit was basically admitting that he knew about Weinstein and still worked with him. He even had the cringe-inducing gall too retell the scorpion and frog parable to explain Weinstein – not just to reference it, but to RETELL it (as if we rubes had never heard it). And he covered for Casey Affleck.
Asshole.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 15, 2018 6:23 PM |
In addition to all of the foregoing, compelling reasons to hate Matt Damon, his head looks like someone took an overripe melon and crudely cut eyes and a mouth. His big, fat head sits on his big, fat body with no visible means of support.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 15, 2018 6:43 PM |
That photo is evidence of why Damon is despicable.
If he did say Affleck told him about Weinstein when he was dating Paltrow, that was no later than 2000. And there Damon is smug and smiling with Weinstein who he now says he knew he was a scorpion.
And the whole claim that he didn't try to sabotage to story on Weinstein reeks of lying. If he talked on that call the way he talks in interviews, you just know he was smug about it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 15, 2018 6:56 PM |
To be fair even Hollywood insiders would know of Weinstein's behavior second hand or third hand or even fourth hand. Commonly discussed rumors are not in themselves arbiters of facts. People understand there is some truth to the rumors, but few people knew how widespread Weinstein's despicable acts were until all this was becoming public in the last 18 months. The same with Bill Cosby. If people dared talk about it publicly then they would be sued for slander and defamation, and had to prove what they said was true. I have heard many rumors at places I worked over the years about people having affairs, or sleeping with higher ups to get promotions and others who were victims of sexual harassment or even assault. If the victims don't come forward, how is it the responsibility of those on the sidelines to force the issue, especially if their livelihood may be on the line?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 15, 2018 7:29 PM |
No one said Damon had to force the issue, R36. The issue is he didn't mean he had to put on a show, arms around the predator and shield Casey. And despite Damon's denials, I totally believe Damon ran interference on the story about Weinstein just because he was asked to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 15, 2018 8:57 PM |
To be fair, everyone knew about Weinstein. And they all continued to work, smile and pose for photos with him. If all of us on DL knew, they’re are posts on here about Weinstein being a sexual predator going back at least 8 years, then everyone in Hollywood knew. Instead of playing dumb, they should have admitted they knew but he was too powerful, he owned them and their careers and felt they couldn’t say anything, which is closer to the truth. Damon admitted he knew and turned a blind eye, unlike a bunch of others like Meryl who pretended to be innocent, and he’s no better or worse than every other A lister who knew and did nothing.
