Just watching the first episode. Holy shit, I didn’t think that jacked Mac using the Dennis sex doll would be so sexy. I want to ship steroid Mac and Doll Dennis.

I read once that because the show doesn't follow traditional tropes and storylines (ie, love triangles, "will they or won't they," etc.) it isn't beholden to convention and could conceivably run forever.

The Simpsons and South Park have run longer. And many shows like Bones have produced more episodes than IASIP in fewer seasons.

Their seasons are now only 7 or 8 episodes--I think.

Mac doesn't need a sex doll. He would be fighting men off with a stick. I wonder if they are going to cop out with his gay storyline. Mac's body did look great but I saw some minor aging in his face. Sometimes when men get 40 and workout too much and have 0 body fat it ages you...

What gets called a "season" isn't what it used to be. Sitcoms used to have 26, then later, 22 episodes per season. In the age of Reality shows, runs of 10-13 episodes are now called "seasons." Shows like SURVIVOR, AMERICAN IDOL, and AMAZING RACE don't even run for a full year...they should up once a year for a limited run. That's why so many of these shows have been on for so long.

Anyone watching? “Times Up for The Gang” and “The Gang Gets New Wheels” reminded me of classic Its Always Sunny. Loved it.

It's very amusing. The sexual harassment episode is quite timely.

But yeah, Mac should be going to the gay district a lot, or be getting besieged by Grindr messages. He should be kicking a hot stud out of his bed every morning.

Mac’s personality would be very off putting to potential suitors. The show has repeatedly shown that none of these people are capable of having relationships outside of the group because they are terrible people. That’s why Mac’s always lusting over Dennis.

When Mac and Charlie beat up those kids in “New Wheels”, I lost it. So over the top, so Sunny. They aren’t totally burying Mac being gay but I won’t be happy until they do an episode where he has some really embarrassing anal.

I still wish Fox wouldn't have cancelled 'The Mick'.

I was rewatching the episode where Dee and the rest of the Sunny ladies do their own Boggs drinking completion on the plane... I think I liked it more than the one they did a few seasons ago. So glad they brought Artemis back and I love whenever Mac’s mom and Charlie’s mom are together.

The last episode was great too. I'm glad they are more hits than misses this season. Though it doesn't entirely feel like it used to, I'm enjoying this different feel regardless.

I thought the last episode was kinda boring

I liked it. Though I like episodes contained in the bar. I felt the last 30 secs were a let down. But I overall liked it.

The number of seasons for some shows is a mystery to me. For example Chopped has been on the air since 2007. Yet according to imdb.com they are in their fortieth season.

I'm a fan of IASIP. They are all horrible people. The supporting characters are great. I love Charlie's mother. The degeneration of Rickety Cricket has been hilarious.

I really liked last week’s episode, and like the episode before it, it reminded me of the earlier Sunny episodes. The randomness of it being a Jimmy Buffett concert was hilarious. I’m glad Glenn decided to stick around... I think it’d be hard to do this show with anyone missing.

I prefer to watch when it streams. Mac needs some gay episodes.

The characters have different levels of assholeness though. Charlie, for example, isn’t that much of an asshole. He’s not very bright, but he’s not mean spirited and out to get anyone. I think the worst thing he’s ever done is Cruel Intentions that one girl in order to get the Waitress jealous.

Frank, Dee, and Dennis are probably the worst about of the 5 because they are the smartest out of the 5. Mac is a good medium between Dennis and Charlie... smart enough to keep up with Dennis but dumb enough to get down to Charlie’s level sometimes.

I still want sexual jokey scenes involving Mac being kicked out of a trick's apartment naked after being an idiot.

Didn’t care for the Charlie Super Bowl episode, but loved last nights episode with the gang and their crazy crew of acquaintances. It was great seeing Rex and Ben The Soldier, who we haven’t seen in a while. The last few minutes were very sweet.

Next week is the gay pride parade episode. The only episode written by the guys this season.

Not impressed with these new writers.

You do really feel they have been less involved in the writing of the most recent seasons.

I'm obsessed with this show! I think one of the key reasons it's so appealing is the main four cast members are each very sexy in their own way (even Dee). I want to buy the entire DVD set! Some favorite moments that come to mind:

- the entire water park episode

- When the gang revealed they found Mac's exercise bike and his trying to explain it

- When they performed their dance number to George Michael's "Freedom" and the reveal of the reality at the very end

- when Dennis and Charlie were huffing fumes in the back office to techno music

- when they went on a road trip with a U-Haul trailer and Dennis and Charlie tried to barbeque in it with the door open, while in motion

- when the gang broke Dee and then tricked her into thinking she was successful at stand-up and flying to Hollywood to be on TV

- when the inspector showed up to the bar last-minute and Charlie was running around making all that random stuff happen into some sort of order

I'm really looking forward to the Mac gay pride episode next week, of course.

I've been a fan of this show since day one and was really looking forward to the new season. All I can say is, what happened? It's neither funny nor clever any more. I've tried to give it a chance but now, three or four episodes into the new season, I'm ready to stop DVR'ing it.

The water park episode is one of the best episodes of the whole series.

Turnover in the writer's room. When the show was at its peak half the episodes were written by the show's creators, the guys who play Mac, Dennis and Charlie. But they have other irons in the fire now. They also had a stable of other writers who really got the character dynamics and wrote some great stuff, but most of those people did not write for this season.

Tonight’s episode, “Mac Finds His Pride” was not at all what I was expecting. The dance scene at the end was a big risk and not at all in the general tenor of the series. It was emotionally and beautifully done and if this show ever wins an award, it will be for this episode. Having Mac shirtless, soaking wet, flexing and stretching his muscles will never elicit an complaint from me either.

This was the show in a row in which Dennis hasn’t made an appearance, I guess he was busy with his NBC show when these were being shot.

Not to sound like a Mary, but this episode got to me. Very well done. If Danny or Rob don’t get an Emmy nod for this episode, I’ll be be pissed. Such a departure for this show. Excited to see how they move forward next season.

That dance was beautiful. I started off laughing and then was sobbing at the end.

That was...unexpected.

That dance was one of the most unusual things I’ve ever seen in a comedy.

This whole episode was inspired by the overwhelming positive reaction to Mac coming out last season by gay fans. In this article Rob McElhenney says the whole reason he got ripped was for this scene, seven months of working out and three months of dance practice. I hope that doesn’t mean he’s not going to maintain his new body because that would be a real shame. He’s so sexy now.

I like that it was just Mac and Frank this episode, with little pop ins from Charlie, Dee and Cricket.

In Season 2, when the show was much saner and hadn’t really committed to what show it wanted to be, Frank told Charlie and Mac that they needed a father figure, and he was going to step up and be that for them. The Gang really is each other’s family.

Also, loved that Mac had a bunch of peaches laying around the apartment, as a callback to CMBYN

I’m rewatching all the previous episodes on Hulu. Man...these guys were young when they started out. Mac is much more attractive as a 40 something, than he was in his mid 20s. The hilarious nihilistic corrosiveness remains undimmed.

Rob aged really well

I love this show. I held off on watching it for years, because it looked like your typical show for bro types, but I finally gave it a chance on Hulu last year and binged the entire thing in a month. I think it's the funniest sitcom in recent memory. Maybe since pre-Netflix Arrested Development at least.

I enjoy it. Which is more than I can say for most television.

I find the main guys very attractive in their own way. I'd love to pick Charlie up and fuck his brains out. I think he's the cutest.

Only seen a couple of episodes but i've watched all of the gag reels. I don't know how they get anything done while filming.

All of the ISAIP guys seem really cute to me. Rob is the only one that sticks out as “hot”, but honestly they’re all super adorable. I watch the gag reels just to see them smile and laugh, Rob really has a beautiful smile and an adorable laugh.

R107 It’s amazing from the get-go, so if you want a good view of exactly what the show is gonna be like, watch the pilot (the gang gets racist) first. It’s a perfect way to gauge what you’re getting into. Seasons 5-8 are the best in my opinion, but season 3 is also pretty great.

We all know Mac is gay, but is Dennis gay too (or bi)? Lots of fangirls on Tumblr seem to think he is. I question if it's wishful thinking or not though.

He keeps sex tapes of the women he bangs, but was ready and willing at the drop of a hat to start fucking little asian guys when he stole that guy’s identity. Never thought I would like it - but love it. And highlights the good part about my city - you can live a normal life without glamour or wealth or pretension. A good neighborhood bar, a random crew of friends and absence of pressure to be somebody.

R115 I’m from Philly too and I have no idea how you got that from It’s Always Sunny. The comedy comes from the fact that the gang isn’t normal and are always trying to be people they aren’t, they’re all fucked up sociopaths who are in denial about their own stations in life (see Dee and Dennis thinking they’re upper class, Charlie being convinced there’s nothing wrong with the way he lives, Mac thinking he’s a super tough badass, Dee thinking she’s an amazing actress). The thing that makes the show so funny is that they AREN’T normal, they’re mentally-damaged white trash.

Originally the show was more based on their real selves and was about three struggling actors in L.A. Making it about childhood friends from Philly gave the show a more distinct character IMHO.

I’ll never understand why these guys can’t find good work outside of It’s Always Sunny. Every member of the main cast is gorgeous, clearly smart, comedically talented, etc. Yet it seems like all their breakaway projects flop. Why?

Charlie Day has done okay and is a favorite of Guillermo del Toro, who has actually camoed on the show. I don’t think Rob McElhenny fancies himself an actor like the rest of them, I think he’s more of a creative type. The Mick was so fucking good and shouldn’t have been cancelled

I find all of them wonderful and attractive, too, and I hope that, when the show ends, they can all keep working, because they're some of the brightest and smartest comedy writing and acting since the Norman Lear days. Making topical things funny and not offending everyone these days is truly an art.

They must have offended some people in the past, but it is weird that there don't seem to be many articles or Twitter freak outs about it like there are for Friends or that Netflix show about the fat girl who starts killing people once she gets thin or whatever.

Maybe Sunny is just more of a cult, niche show.

I think if truly despicable characters say and do despicable things and get bitten in the ass for it, then people aren’t as offended.
