My mom has a two-piece curtain (2x 36" x 75" panels) that she hangs in her patio slding door opening which sees little use after autumn comes. It's a near photo-realistic depiction of a pair of French doors, open slightly and looking out on to a patio. With the gray afternoon light coming through it looks very realistic.
Have you tried an image search for that shot? Maybe someone out there makes (or would consider making) what you want.

Beyond the shadow of the ship,
I watched the water-snakes:
They moved in tracks of shining white,
And when they reared, the elfish light
Fell off in hoary flakes.
Within the shadow of the ship
I watched their rich attire:
Blue, glossy green, and velvet black,
They coiled and swam; and every track
Was a flash of golden fire.

Interesting article on "Egyptian Blue"
[quote] Egyptian Blue, also known as calcium copper silicate, is one of the first artificial pigments known to have been used by man. The oldest known example of the exquisite pigment is said to be about 5000 years old, found in a tomb painting dated to the reign of Ka-Sen, the last pharaoh of the First Dynasty.
