So I tuned in to this show for the first time ever, because I'd always wanted to watch it but never got around to it.

WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!

Dumb storyline, completely SHIT acting, it was just ridiculous overall. I truly wanted to tune out after 5 minutes because I was so bored, but I stuck it out and watched the whole episode. What a waste of an hour. I won't be tuning in again.

And yes KJ is hot, but he looked ORANGE from head to toe, during that stupid fight scene. And don't even get me started on how he wasted that good bottle of liquor.

I'm so pissed that I wasted an hour of my life watching this one episode.

The first few episodes of season one were pretty fun.

There are a couple of other fun episodes sprinkled throughout the rest of season one and all of season two.

But for the most part, it was crap, and I couldn't take it, and bailed on Season 2 about 2/3rds the way in.

For the first time I actually like one of the songs Josie performs. Anything Goes sounds pretty great.

Archie a star boxer? Wow. That comes right out of the blue. Love the D&G mystery. The speak easy plot seems a bit silly (some goes for the prison fight club and the menacing prison ward who gets off on guys fighting each other) but somehow Riverdale makes them work.

I'm always so surprised that the showrunners are so cautious about letting Kevin get much screen time or show much skin. KJ Apa is treated on the show like a whore--he is constantly shirtless and the object of desire. But the actor who plays Kevin, who has even an better body, is always dressed to the point of stifling.

R58 And they come up with such ridiculous scenarios to get Archie shirtless! It's like the whole point of Archie going to juvie is to showcase his body in the fight club in front of pervy old men.

I gave up on the show when it became clear the writers didn’t care about the characters. They are completely inconsistent from story to story.

Cole Sprouse and KJ Apa Get Naked in This Week’s Riverdale

Hallelujah, R67! But despite what the article says, I’ll believe we’ll see their butts when we actually see them.

All I can say is, I just started watching this series last week on Netflix and I fucking love it. Think the four lead actors are perfectly cast, as are the parents. Love the look, tone and sensibility of the show.

Of course the plots are outlandish amd unbelievable, but the series is smart, not stupid, even when it’s dumb (if you know what I mean). At first I didn’t get Apa, the dyed hair looked so wrong with his very dark eyes and brows. But he’s genuinely handsome, not a bad actor and he has a natural, unforced maleness that is very attractive. Love Cole as Jughead, LOVE Lili Rinehart as Betty (she’s a real find), think Camila is an ideal Veronica though I don’t think her acting chops are quite up to the other three, but I love her too. The four leads have great chemistry with each other.

Look, you either get it and and enjoy it or you don’t The same as with any other addictive series.

Well that sucks! This episode illustrates everything wrong with this show. It's all mob, gang, cult, with just one scene of high school. And Archie is off on his own like he's some special Messiah in exile going through his hallucinations and ordeals.

So the last episode ends with a dramatic TOWN IS QUARANTINED and then within 5 minutes it was all, yeah that was resolved, quarantine over.

They've really run out of any idea about what to do with Kevin if random Fascist stormtrooper #002 is what they're going with now. The hilarity that a guy who's only independent storyline to date is that he goes cruising for dick in the woods is now reduced to yelling "no touching!" in a school hallway is amazing.

So it was just announced the musical episode will be Heathers.

Archie having bad grades is unusually realistic for Riverdale. Wonder if he can claim any of that shit as extra curricular's though.

As a childhood-long Archie fan, I am sad that I had to stop watching, but the show went from over-the-top fun to just plain preposterous. Archie pleading guilty to murder and being sent to a juvie prison that looks more hardcore than Attica, with football being a saving grace? Human sacrifices because of Dingeons and Dragons? I couldn’t handle it.

The only nutso storyline I cared about at all was the Coopers being witches. Has that shaken out yet? I liked the idea and I hoped for a link to Sabrina, but I don’t have the patience for Riverdale. The series has reminded me that it was always Betty and Veronica I cared about; Archie was always pretty pointless and totally limited. A cute fuckboy doesn’t have a long shelf life.

Since the live-action Archie world is so detached from any version of reality, they should do an animated episode that looks like the old comics and is completely bound to real-life high school dynamics.

The relationship with his dad could have been interesting and potentially moving. I am disappointed that a gay writer would fail at creating at least a two-dimensional gay character.

That noir fiction episode was rather unsettling to me with all these murder and attempted murder confessions and Hermione killing her lover? WTF? Did the viewer really need to see how much of a gangster she really is?

And I am surprised that Jughead and Betty have not solved this Gargoyle King mystery by just checking at the local costume shop who bought that incredibly popular costume. But my theory is that it's the undertaker who is the Gargoyle King taking over for his dad who started that morbid tradition.

I hope Cody Kearsley's new show is a big success, because the way Riverdale treated him and Casey Cott so far is inexcusable and a real shame.

Since Archie is a comic book, I could tolerate the supernatural stuff and the gargoyle king. Barely. Archie is supposed to be 16 years old, though, and he’s basically in Riker’s Island where kids are getting shanked and murdered by the system, and bringing harmony to the incarcerated through football while high school girls cheer on the sidelines. That’s as far as I got. It ended there. I grew up loving Archie comics. I had forgotten that all of my interest was invested in Betty and Veronica. Archie stories that departed from the Archie-is-horny-and-confused element were not good. Imagine how much better Riverdale would be if it were centered around Betty and Veronica, with a lot of attention given to a better-rounded Kevin.

JFC @ the way they're writing Kevin. Moose has been gone for like maybe a week and they've already got Kevin joining a CULT just to get some dick. (This is not an exaggeration. That was literally the reason he gave for joining in the fucking episode.)

This show is all over the place and off the rails yet I can't tune out just yet.

I actually found it pretty easy to drop. It got to the stage in season two where I'd save up a bunch of episodes to watch just to get it out of the way at once. Then after the Christmas break I just realised I couldn't be bothered anymore. I genuinely felt freed.
