They said IMPROVED! They meant “cheaper.”
Costco has RUINED their Kirkland brand paper towels
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 3, 2018 4:00 PM |
And their garbage bags, you don't want to know what happened the last time I bought their garbage bags.

white peoples problem
by Anonymous | reply 2 | August 29, 2018 4:18 PM |
I'm not fat and/or poor, so I don't shop there.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 29, 2018 6:30 PM |
Bastards.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 29, 2018 11:12 PM |
They did something to the trash bags? What the fuck did they do? They’re the only trash bags I’ve bought for over a decade now.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 29, 2018 11:15 PM |
Has no one else experienced this disappointment?
R3, younare an idiot. Costco customers are economically diverse and can’t be fat because walking around the warehouse burns calories.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 30, 2018 3:27 PM |
Well, I'm just SICK about it.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 30, 2018 3:33 PM |
The guality of the green/black trash bags are of a different consistency than the old ones. The new ones split open and some have tears in them when I get one out of the box. Cheap!
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 30, 2018 6:20 PM |
The bastards.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 30, 2018 6:22 PM |
r8, return them. they have no questions asked returns policy. take a stand!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 30, 2018 6:23 PM |
Don't just return them, also call the company and tell them you are not stupid and noticed the cheapening down of their products and tell them why you returned them. I don't buy their paper towels but I did notice the difference in the trash bags and I called them. If enough people call and tell why they are returning them maybe it will help.

[quote] Costco customers are economically diverse
Honey, anyone complaining about ruined paper towels is the saddest, fattest, poorest person on EARTH.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 30, 2018 6:37 PM |
I noticed a big change in COSTCO. Fewer brand name products and a drop in Kirkland brand quality.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 30, 2018 6:42 PM |
I blame the Chinese. The one good thing Trump’s doing is sticking it to them with the tariffs.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 30, 2018 7:02 PM |
Trump does nothing good. Nothing.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 30, 2018 7:04 PM |
Wrong. His trade attacks on China are a long time coming. The one thing I wish Obama did was get tougher on China. And Trump doesn’t care if the stock market likes it or not.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 30, 2018 7:06 PM |
Poor? Nothing costs under 10 dollars. Try walking out without spending 200 dollars.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 30, 2018 7:06 PM |
R16, you are wrong. Rump does NOTHING right. NOTHING.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 30, 2018 7:08 PM |
right! his steel tariffs are shames. if the US company MUST have steel, they can apply for a waiver on the tariff. its all smoke and mirrors. unfortunately, some of us will have to eat the smoke.

[quote]The complaint cites testing of the Kirkland Signature oil performed by two separate labs. The first tests found only about 48 percent of the 720 milligrams of omega-5, 6, 7, 9 and 11 fatty acids listed on the label. The second analysis stated that only 40 percent of the 330 milligrams of the omega-3 fatty acids were listed.
LOL, they're basically the wholesale mob.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 30, 2018 7:41 PM |
Fuck them to Hell. Damn you, Costco.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 30, 2018 7:55 PM |
Oh fuck! I use those omega 3 wild Alaskan pills, 2 daily for years. I want my money back for 10 years of pills. Thank you R20. I'm going to call them.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 30, 2018 8:53 PM |
So is there a class action lawsuit or something going on with Costco over false medical claims or what? I think that's a pretty serious offense. Those pills should be recalled.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 31, 2018 11:12 PM |
I'm sick of their employees being so balls deep in conversation with each other that they throw my bananas down on their counter twice, fill my freezer bag with nothing that needs to stay cold and leave my fish and frozen stuff out.
Where do they find these fucking assholes? These aren't young kids, wither, these are adults.
I used to shop there a lot because I thought they took care of their employees and I liked that. Now? Fuck those guys.

Walmart has lower prices and better service. And you don't have to pay to get in.

Costco Owner spoke at the Democratic National Convention. And everybody who reads news know that supplements are garbage. Kirkland products are made by other companies. For instance Kirkland chicken is made by Tyson and we all know how Tyson treats their chickens.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 31, 2018 11:43 PM |
Hillary reaps a windfall from Goldman Sachs speeches and Costco CEO speaks at the DNC. Yeah, these people aren’t beholden to corporate America at all. *rolls eyes*
This cheap paper towel swindle is the last straw for me. I'm not renewing my membership and am just going to walk away.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | September 1, 2018 12:31 AM |
You can always use Republican sponsor and Koch Brother owned, Brawny, r28.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 1, 2018 12:33 AM |
"Improved" or "new formula" ALWAYS means they found a way to make it cheaper, no matter who does it. Costco is far from alone in this.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 1, 2018 12:38 AM |
R28 is an imposter. Not sure why.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 1, 2018 4:49 AM |
The demise of the Kirkland brand paper towels do not compare to the demise of the "Costco Way" cookbooks!
I'm still pissed about this: I used to make a special trip the day after Thanksgiving every year just to pick up my complimentary copy; it was the best thing about Costco at that time of the year, all year. Well, one year, upon checking out at the check stand, NO complimentary "The Costco Way" cookbook - Gone!
I'd asked the checker what was up with that; she'd said, "We had to do away with them; people would grab 10 at a time instead of just one. When we tried to intervene, 'those people' would cause a scene, yelling aloud, "Hey, back the F up! These are FREE!"
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 1, 2018 5:07 AM |
When I first read R32 I thought it was unlikely that so many people grabbed multiple copies of the Costco cookbooks that they decided to do away with it (and I really doubt that was the main reason). Then I remembered over the years seeing so many people returning $400 Christmas trees the days after Christmas, returning entire patio furniture sets after labor day, returning two-weeks old bags of salad, etc and I don't doubt it.
But still, why wouldn't they ask customers if they wanted a copy a checkout, keeping them behind the register or something?
In my decade+ of Costco membership, I think I've taken one cookbook from them. Why bother with new cookbooks when everyone can now get recipes online with reviews and tips from others who have made the recipe?

I buy most of my paper products at Target. Often if you buy two or three of something you get $5 or $10 gift cards. That plus the 5% off using their Red card gives me better savings than I would get at Costco.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 3, 2018 3:27 PM |
Yeah I am another who buys all paper goods at Target. r34, FYI They have a 5% off coupon for paper goods on their Cartwheel app. Plus you get another 5% off with the Redcard
by Anonymous | reply 35 | September 3, 2018 3:31 PM |
I find the Target paper products are overpriced. I gave up buying them there as the local Kroger sold the same thing for almost half. I had a Costco membership for a year but decided it wasn’t for me. I found the whole experience of going there stressful with the parking and crowds and I don’t need to buy that much of anything at a time anyway.
