The only gay Honduran I know personally is a 50-something son of an evangelical preacher from Mississippi who is morbidly obese and always mad that young guys do not throw themselves at him. So I have a low opinion of Honduran men.

OP here: My experience has been very, very frustrating. The good: He is polite, decent-looking, hung like a horse. He is VERY romantic verbally and when he wants sex. In person, though: NO sense of humor. NO playfulness. Aggressive. HE has to be in charge. Acts like he understands when I make a suggestion for a small change in sex or conduct, then completely ignores what I've said and defaults back to bad behavior with a sense of impunity. Gaslights me if I call him on things, like not letting me know if there is a change of plans, or he can't show up when he says he will. He asked me for $100 to 'fix his truck' -- a late-model Tundra, which, I believe he should not even OWN if he can't maintain it. He has his own business and makes money, so why did he ask me? I flat-out turned him down and told him I had had bad experiences loaning people money in the past, so I don't do that any more. This was met by a period of sulking and icing me out. This was a 'thing' that started back at the end of May and I have spent all summer stupidly waiting for it to turn around and get better. He's a DUD in bed. Does not know HOW to drive that big ol' pinga he's been blessed with. Whaaaaaa-aaaaat? What Latin male does NOT know how to move his hips, for Cripe's sake? I blocked him and deleted all his deets this past week when he started pushing me to send him pictures of my junk (nope -- not leaving THAT kind of digital footprint!) and to bareback. (Ummmmmm, big NOPE to THAT!) He has stood me up at least three times, without explanation or apology, even when we had solid plans and agreed to communicate if a change came up. In the interest of not being an asshole, I forgave and forgot, but three is my limit. I wanted the big adventure with him.... Have looked around on the Web for cultural background and feedback from other people in relationships with Hondurans and frankly, Catrachos don't have a very good rep: lying, manipulating, control freakish, downright awful and dismissive re: females, don't keep their promises, humorless, all about the sex and the money. I have NEVER received such mixed signals from a human being in my pretty-long life. Mr. Wonderful in texts and a grabby, un-fun, clumsy, un-sexy money-grubber in person. And ALWAYS on his fucking cellphone, even when around me. I was left feeling he had much better things to do than spend time with me. Oh well, boo hoo. He gone! I hate to say it, as there are many attractive Honduran men around here, but ... NEVER AGAIN.
