My expertise comes, in part, from watching many episodes of "Intervention." When an addict is wealthy / powerful / strong-willed, it's hard to reach "rock bottom." If his drug of choice is alcohol, that's even more difficult, because it's relatively cheap, legal, and socially acceptable. Point is, I don't think anyone can do the work for Ben.

I feel bad for her. She's the mother of his kids. It seems to me she's trying to help him when she could easily just walk.

R58 it's not that easy to walk if you've got shared custody. You don't want your kids to be exposed to this shit. It's not that easy to keep the kids from the drunk parent. You need to prove they are a danger. Getting him sober is good for the kids. Of course if he drinks himself to death she won't have to share custody. That can take years and then your kids are traumatized. I will say in this case Ben appears to be fine with Jen limiting his time with the kids. Either he doesn't care or he knows he's not good for them in this state.
