I had a dream a few nights ago where I found out that the first Hollywood adaptation of Grease was released in 1974, with a black girl playing Sandy. It did poorly and everything forgot about it, which was why I'd never heard of it before. Then it was remade a few years later with Olivia as the lead actress and became a huge hit. With hindsight, that's a damn weird thing to dream about.

I loved, loved, loved Olivia when I was a kid. Every appearance she made on TV, I was right there watching. And it only took 35 years, but I finally got to see her live in 2016 at The Flamingo and it was great. She sounded as good as she ever did, she was engaging, funny, and just seemed like a genuinely kind person. I feel so lucky to have seen her in concert and I hope all the best for her.
