TJ Miller Fires Back at 'Silicon Valley' Actress: "It Was Difficult to Work With Her"

TJ Miller is defending himself against his former Silicon Valley co-star who accused him of being a "bully and petulant brat" on the set of the HBO comedy.

The actor who rose to fame playing Erlich Bachman is addressing Alice Wetterlund's allegations against him and the four other male stars of the series. Last month, Wetterlund — who played engineer Carla Walton for two seasons — called her experience on the show "kind of a nightmare," adding that the other major male castmembers enabled Miller's bullying and "can fuck off forever."

When asked about the public feud on SiriusXM’s Jim Norton & Sam Roberts show, Miller denied Wetterlund's accusations. "She may have had that experience, but it’s people trying to enter the headlines and get into the media cycle," he said. "It was not my experience that anyone was bullying her or being mean to her."

Not only did he claim he didn't contribute to the toxic environment Wetterlund described, Miller went on to add that Wetterlund was the one who was "difficult to work with" on set. "Truthfully, I felt like it was difficult to work with her because she kept interrupting Zach Woods ... during takes and even when she was off camera," he said

I know Miller has problems, but that kind of language directed against everybody in the cast doesn't really make it very easy to take her side.

Never heard of this show or these people. They should try to get along until their stars rise a bit higher, no?

Miller is a nutcase. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up dead in the next few years.

???

Although I would agree Miller and Wetterlund are not exactly household names, you certainly should have heard of the show if you pay attention at all to contemporary American popular culture. Maybe you don't get HBO, but the show is nonetheless well known and has been highly critically regarded. Two of its breakout stars have done extremely well for themselves already: Thomas Middleditch is the spokesman on commercials for Verizon, and Kumail Nanjiani was the star of the movie [italic]The Big Sick[/italic] which he wrote with his wife and co-star Emily Gordon.

There are rumors that Thomas Middleditch is douche like Miller.

His career is over. Why is anyone interviewing him?

by Anonymousreply 8August 16, 2018 4:34 AM

Miller was also in both Deadpool movies. How can you have never seen him?

Not interested in the bickering BUT Can we talk about Alice Wetterlund's haircut in OPs link??? I despise her for that alone. She deserves to be bullied relentlessly for that “choice”

She sounds like that woman who got fired from Guildwars 2 for being a cunt to fans. Based on her attitude, why would anyone want to hire her for anything else?

by Anonymousreply 11August 16, 2018 5:06 AM

r10, it's not her fault. She's auditioning for the much-coveted lead in the TV movie "Tizzie Lish, the Lezzy Lush: The Kristy McNichol Story" for Lifetime.

by Anonymousreply 12August 16, 2018 5:09 AM

My apologies R12 - I get it. She nails the “Lifetime Network 90’s bipolar alcoholic lesbian” look. Thanks for putting it in context.
