First look at the sequel’s cast.
Will they have a CGI budget to cover up the walkers and oxygen tanks?

Aging. IT BURNS!

I know wigs. Miss Coco's is undying.

Campbell and Pitoc are still fuckable.

That was a few faces ago for Tori.

Which one is Gabriel's roommate's girlfriend, Judy (Lorri Bagley)? She was one of my favorite characters.
Steve Hayes looks the same.

Looks terrible.

I can't wait to not see this.

I saw the first film when it opened at the Laemelle Sunset in 1999 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I recognized that it was a romance that bore little resemblance to real life as most of us gay men knew it, however it was so well-acted by a wonderful cast, that it worked. I dare anyone to watch it and not come out humming, "Enter You". Met a cast member at Revolver soon after and the song title was prophetic. I look forward to the sequel (of the movie, that is), and hope it brings on the same nice feelings that the first one did.

Yeah it was an enjoyable gay movie, nothing revolutionary but nice. Plus it wasn't depressing like a lot of gay cinema could be which I appreciated.

THEY'RE 20 YEARS LATE. SORRY.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | September 17, 2018 10:25 PM |
Damn, aging is a BITCH. Poor J.P. Pitoc.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | September 17, 2018 10:56 PM |
No one looks the same in their 20s as they do in their 40s, he still looks damn fuckable.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | September 17, 2018 10:59 PM |
I always thought that the original at one level was pretty realistic: one lead character lived with his mother and the other in a shithole apartment with a vile roommate, rather than in nice, airy places to have hilarious banter in. The basic plot, that they didn't have anywhere to go to have sex, was also unusual.

Jamie Lee traps Michael Myers in her basement and sets him on fire. All three Strode women survive.

Will Tori Spelling have a new monologue in this one?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | September 18, 2018 12:48 AM |
Pitoc looks like he's been left out exposed to a constant sandstorm for the last 20 years.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | September 28, 2018 11:28 PM |
So what have Pitoc and Campbell been doing for the last 20 years? Waiting tables? Working at Trader Joe's? Certainly not acting.

R21 the hunky sparky was supposed to be in the original movie? Don’t tell the HGTV fraus ;).

Trick was a charming enjoyable gay themed film. And Tori Spelling actually gave a good performance.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | September 29, 2018 12:25 AM |
Were the deleted scenes ever released?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | September 29, 2018 2:14 AM |
When I saw Trick at the London Lesbian & Gay film festival that scene was definitely there and I missed it in later viewings. It gave Christian Campbell's character an extra beat and motivated him to to go the bar later, which is something he didn't usually do.

Sadly didn’t make it to the DVD, no “deleted scenes” either. Guessing it was between the phone rehearsal of Tori’s scenes and the writer’s workshop where “Enter You” is first heard along with the cheezy choreography?

Are they going for something like Call Me By Your Name with that sequel (which is basically the same premise where the leads meet again after a considerable amount of time has passedl?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | September 29, 2018 3:17 PM |
I believe back then it was a novelty, because it was a straight up gay com-com and not the usual gay drama where one of the leads dies from AIDS or some gaybashing.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | September 29, 2018 3:20 PM |
Except they didn't even kiss until the last scene, if memory serves.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | September 29, 2018 6:20 PM |
Campbell, I was surprised to see when I looked him up on IMDB, has actually stayed quite busy with acting work, and higher profile stuff than I would have imagined. Given that, she should be able to afford a half-decent moisturizer.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | September 29, 2018 10:43 PM |
How old be he now?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | September 29, 2018 10:47 PM |
Christian Campbell is still very good looking at 46.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | September 29, 2018 10:55 PM |
Im not big on sequels , but this is one I cant wait to see. I especially loved Steve Hayes, and Lori Bagley. Brad Beyer got MUCH better looking as he aged.

Wait, so they didn't live happily ever after like the original movie implied?

Has anyone ever called the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and asked to speak to Mark Miranda? It would be interesting to see if they have ever heard of him.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 30, 2018 1:07 AM |
Could be a publicity stunt for Andy Cohen when the boys are on his show to promote the sequel. Get Christian to call, then get JP to call asking if there were any messages for him. Hidden camera at the other end.

So what every happened to this sequel, Trick 2? Was it ever finished and released?
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 24, 2021 1:00 PM |
No, R39 - I assume the funding push didn't work. A shame, I was mildly looking forward to it.
