I was watching CNN last weekend, and they were throwing around some names and suggesting that if Democrats re-take the House, the next Speaker could be African American.

Some names tossed out were Jim Clyburn, plus some other names that I was not familiar with.

Both Pelosi and Sen. Schumer's times are up. Fuck them both for the way they tossed Congresswoman Maxine Walters under the bus. They shouldn't done that. That and reasons already mentioned told me it's time for them to pack it up. Assuming we have a blue wave in November, we need new younger PROGRESSIVE blood at the Democratic House leadership level. They need to fight harder against the nomination of Kavanaugh and contribute to getting 45 the fuck out of the White House.

Nancy Pelosi is one of the most effective Speakers and then Minority Leaders that the House has had in years. As Speaker she got some tough legislation through and her caucus held together. As Minority Leader now her caucus holds and she is definitely in control. She'll let people vote for/against the Party when she can afford to but when she can't her caucus votes with one voice. She was a far better Speaker than Boehner or Ryan and a lot of others. And that, of course, is the point of the trolls.

The point of Speaker is to be the leader of the House, if not the defacto leader of congress. Since we don;t hold the WH, the Speaker will be the voice of the Party. Nancy has never been a articulate in public, which made her useless against Republican attacks in 2010. Behind closed doors she is a master at keeping the members in check. For the good of the Party, she should just seek the Majority Leader position and put a young smooth talker in the Speaker's seat. She can still wield power behind closed doors, but let someone else be the voice of the Party.
