45 based solely on looks. He had aged and looked pretty bad by 1979 when he made Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
However, realistically I probably would have been willing to do Capt Kirk until at least Wrath of Khan in 1982.

He had a sexy butt back in the day too. I definitely would have eaten that ass out back in the day. Sometime around the mid/late 80's he was just a little too long in the tooth to be a sex symbol anymore - but continued to be a very handsome man. Who cares about the toupee - some of you bitchy queens crack me up (most of the male sex symbols in Hollywood wore one, wear one or have implants).

He still had a glimmer of the old magic in STTMP but by WOK his looks had completely coarsened away.
The last movie where he was still pretty sexy and handsome was "The Devil's Rain" in 1975.
