Jason Mraz: My bisexuality was ‘a very stressful secret’

He's got a new album, due Aug. 10, y'all. A coincidence, I'm sure.

He got a lot of chorus boy ass subbing in Waitress on Broadway and someone was threatening to go public with chats and photos.

by Anonymousreply 1August 5, 2018 9:37 PM

No musician would ever have done this to sell albums 20/30 years ago

by Anonymousreply 2August 5, 2018 9:38 PM

How many threads do we need about this fugly attention whore???

by Anonymousreply 3August 5, 2018 9:41 PM

Serious question. How will this revelation possibly sell more albums? Who would be going out to buy it that wouldn't have already bought it?

by Anonymousreply 4August 5, 2018 9:42 PM

I'D SUCK HIS TOES.

Maybe no male musician. But female bi chic was already well underway by the late 90s.

by Anonymousreply 9August 5, 2018 9:46 PM

[quote]Serious question. How will this revelation possibly sell more albums? Who would be going out to buy it that wouldn't have already bought it?

Maybe not the revelation itself. But the media exposure it has brought might have a positive effect.

This is his first album in 4 years. The timing can't be just coincidence.

by Anonymousreply 10August 5, 2018 9:48 PM

Looks like fugly mcfuglerson is three sheets to the wind and bumping threads about him on datalounge

by Anonymousreply 11August 5, 2018 9:52 PM

He looks like the backend of a horse. Straight women can keep it!

by Anonymousreply 12August 5, 2018 9:57 PM

He has a nothing face. Dull, boring, generic.

by Anonymousreply 13August 6, 2018 4:27 AM

He's ugly so it should have been kept a secret

by Anonymousreply 14August 6, 2018 4:29 AM

12 we don't want him. You gays can keep him.

Fug. With a douche cap. Hard pass.

by Anonymousreply 17August 6, 2018 2:19 PM

I think he's adorable, always have, but do not care for his music. It's too twee, but he is a clever writer. And I choose to give him props for coming out as bi. I don't think the purpose is to sell albums, but so what if it is? The more artists and actors who come out, the less of a stigma it will be, and the more accepted it will be. And: there must be other ways to sell records that are easier than opening your life to criticism. Give him credit, not your scorn.

by Anonymousreply 21August 6, 2018 4:06 PM

Based on what the article says, he sold his soul so that fat white fraus can have yet more dreadful wedding songs.

by Anonymousreply 22August 6, 2018 4:08 PM

Looking all frat edgy in 2005 for Gap.

I hate that one song of his, “I’m Yours”. Next to Luther Vandross’ “Here and Now”, it’s the most fucking annoying wedding song ever.

by Anonymousreply 24August 6, 2018 4:19 PM

Worse than "You And I Both"?

March 4, 2006 on Mad-TV - dreadful.

Ah, R25. I had totally forgotten about You and I Both. I love that song, and it is fun to play on guitar.

by Anonymousreply 27August 6, 2018 7:44 PM

i have no idea who this guy is.

by Anonymousreply 28August 6, 2018 7:56 PM

On the one hand I think its great that more bi guys who are married/ dating women are more open open their sexuality. On the other hand, it feel like everyone is skipping over the fact he was a massive gay slut. I mean he was fucking men before and WHILE dating his future wife (reading between the lines he probs still is). Sure open relationships are a thing, but its pretty tacky. Plus, Im sure I could marry and be pretty happy with a close female friend if I got male ass on the side, while poking her on ocasion; I'd still be the gayest gay to ever gay. I wonder if he could go 'cold turkey' so to speak. Surely if you happen to like both, going 'without' shouldn't be an issue; especially if you are in love etc. I mean I love some twink ass, but my husband is no twink. Im not stepping out even though I am also sexually into it; why cant bisexuals do the same? Thats my only gripe with these bisexuals coming out. Are you actually bi, or is this you having your cake and eating it too? Could to go without fucking men? I strongly suspect most of them could go without fucking women...so....Same with that annoying Nico torterella.

by Anonymousreply 29August 6, 2018 8:20 PM

If he’s married to a woman who the fuck cares if he is bi? Could be pure fiction and takes zero courage. Fuck off Jason until you are WITH A MAN.

by Anonymousreply 30August 6, 2018 8:24 PM

R29, yeah, I mean they should just marry men if they like them so much and save these women the heartbreak. Being attracted to both doesn't justify cheating, but society seems to disregard it if the husband was secretly gay or bi.

by Anonymousreply 31August 6, 2018 8:26 PM

Jason, call me. I'll fuck you. And you can leave your hat on.

by Anonymousreply 32August 6, 2018 11:00 PM

R32 = Kim Wilson

by Anonymousreply 33August 6, 2018 11:04 PM

What about me?!

by Anonymousreply 34August 6, 2018 11:06 PM

He reel basic.

by Anonymousreply 35August 6, 2018 11:09 PM

Wait, isn't he a Scientologist????

by Anonymousreply 36August 6, 2018 11:11 PM

Randy Newman was the one who wrote and originally recorded You Can Leave Your Hat On. His version is the one I am most familiar with.

by Anonymousreply 37August 6, 2018 11:12 PM

[quote]Serious question. How will this revelation possibly sell more albums? Who would be going out to buy it that wouldn't have already bought it?

Would we be talking about him? Would we even know he had a new album?

by Anonymousreply 38August 6, 2018 11:14 PM

R38 Exactly. And plus he is still married to a woman which regardless of what some hysterical bitrolls have been shouting lately does give you an edge over other openly gay men in the industry. Most straight people dont read gay specific news sites so this would have been a non-event to them; he is still 'nominally straight'. he now just has more outlets to give PR spin to his middle of the road boring ass songs.

by Anonymousreply 39August 7, 2018 1:12 AM

I don't think the NY Post is a gay publication.

I agree that bi guys who are with women are socially more accepted than openly gay men even if the bi guy is out.

But there are a detail in Mraz's story that would rub almost women the wrong way, and alienante them more than just coming out as gay - the part about hooking up with men while dating his now wife.

Women dislike bi guys more than they do us, precisely because of stories like that.

by Anonymousreply 40August 8, 2018 12:07 AM

* there is

* most women

Damn autocorrect!!

by Anonymousreply 41August 8, 2018 12:08 AM

R2 Maybe not 30 years ago but more like 40 years ago.

David Bowie declared himself gay in an interview with Michael Watts for a 1972 issue of Melody Maker, coinciding with his campaign for stardom as Ziggy Stardust.

In a September 1976 interview with Playboy, Bowie said, "It's true—I am a bisexual. But I can't deny that I've used that fact very well. I suppose it's the best thing that ever happened to me." His first wife, Angie, supports his claim of bisexuality and alleges that Bowie had a relationship with Mick Jagger.

Dear Jason, gay people in Chechnya and Saudi Arabia hide a "very stressful secret". You don't. So, get the fuck off the cross, we need wood.

Phony hipster Douchebag.
