I loved the gay story in XY a Mexican telenovela of yesteryear, but my all-time favorite was Argentina's Botineras, despite the lame gay story.

my all time favorite is Fisica o Quimica aka Physical or Chemical (2008-2011) from Spain's Antena 3 TV network- the gay storyline is Fer and David aka Fervid. The highs and lows of dating and loving and death.

I've also seen all those other foreign telenovela gay storylines and i also liked El Cor De La Ciutat (2000-2009) Max and Iago (played by Marc Clotet) its from Spain but Barcelona Catalan speaking region (language closer to French and Italian than Spanish) Marc Clotet was also in Fisica o Quimica from (2009-2011) as teacher named Vaquero.

The gay storyline in the 2nd season of Mi Marido tiene mas Familia (Mexico-Televisa/ Univision in USA) has been a huge hit and success with the audience. Temo y Aristoteles aka Aristemo is authentic, honest, real and sweet. Interestingly Aristoteles played by Emilio Osorio is the son of the executive producer of the telenovela. And the man even though he is old school from another generation he has been extremely supportive and proud. They even launched a theater musical show based on the gay teen couple from the telenovela that has been touring Mexico.

Oh and a really cool and fun fact- Juan Pablo Di Pace aka Fernando on Fuller House was on Fisica o Quimica for 7 episodes as Xavi Lopez an art teacher in 2011 the last season of series. Juan Pablo Di Pace is multi-ligual, a singer, does theater and was born in Argentina, worked in Spain and the USA (he was Jesus on that NBC miniseries a while back) i personally think he is gay but in the closet.

Oh and i love Argentina too. Telefe network is great with having gay storylines in their telenovelas too.

Botineras (2009-2010) Manuel and Lalo was amazingly real and sweet and hot set in the world of futbol aka soccer.

Juan Minujin is a great actor from Argentina amazing in comedy and drama he is also bilingual speaks great english. So he was gay in the movie A Year without Love (2005) he was also in the Argentina version of Mad About You sitcom called Loco x Vos (Crazy for You) he played Pablo..Paul in spanish get it? it ran for 66 episodes in 2016.

Juan Minujin also played Segundo aka Second in english a gay (and married with kids and in the closet) in Viudas e Hijos del Rock & Roll (2014-2015) and falls in love with Tony. the telenovela is super fun and funny...lots of laughter the family has lots of conflicts and mishaps...the parents, the in-laws, etc.

Ludovico Di Santo plays Nacho straight brother of Segundo (Juan Minujin)

Ludo Di Santo plays gay and out Paul in 100 dias para enamorarse (2018) also from Argentina and Telefe tv network. Paul and Fidel is the gay storyline.

i still watch Days of Our Lives since Chandler Massey aka Will Horton is super hot cute sexy...he could totally do gay porn for Helix Studios or even better for Sean Cody for sure. Sonny aka Freddie Smith is a bit boring and bland but i love his hairy chest plus reminds me of boxer Oscar De La Hoya.

Fisica o Quimica was good but the sorta American remake Relaciones Peligrosas wasn't good. Viudas e Hijos del Rock & Roll was nice.

Spanish Film actress Paz Vega is going to play Catalina Creel in the Cuna De Lobos remake. Apparently, she is being paid around a million dollars to make her Telenovela debut.

Is it just me or are Spanish actors starting to cross over into Telenovelas? I just watched Mark Clotet ("Iago" from El cor de la ciutat) in some Mexican telenovela playing lawyer.

So is Aristemo going to be the first gay Telenovela ? Gay characters have had prominent roles in Telenovelas, but a gay love story being the lead story of a Telenovela has to be a first. They are already saying that it will include some racy scenes, but isn't like one of the leads still 16 ???

Aristemos new spin off Juntos El corazón nunca se equivoca (Together the Heart is Never Wrong) premiered this week and it looks from the preview like they might kiss next week (which would be an improvement on MMTMF which waited until the episode..)
