Could it be possible that in Russian, Putin told the translator, "If you ever divulge what was said, I will order you killed." ??
Has anyone discussed this possibility?

It's an interpreter not a translator. Translators do written documents. Interpreters do live, real time conversations. NPR had a great interview w one this past week.
