It was reported that he was suffering from depression, plus he apparently had a bad reaction to an acne medication he was taking.

He also was unhappy that his part in a movie had been cut.

Could be drugs, could be the embarrassment of Ladybugs.

He had a lot of fame at a young age, which is like a drug. Then maybe his career faltered and he got depressed or used drugs, Or maybe he was yet another victim of the crew of older gay men who took advantage of younger guys. You know who they are.

There have been a lot of suspicious suicides of celebrities as of late, but there was a first that started this whole thing over a decade ago. A film was being made overseas and several of the actors in this movie that was supposed to be a big box office hit took advantage of their position as stars with the local female population and also threw around enough cash to the local police where nothing was said or done about their activities. One of the worst offenders was an A list mostly movie actor at the time. Foreign born and was really kicking it into gear. There was another A+ lister on the movie and a future A- list mostly television actor. They went after every female teen in the town where they were filming. They didn't care how old, and whether it was completely voluntary.

One actor who didn't participate was at the time probably B/B- list and fading. Because he didn't participate, everyone shunned him. They made sure he knew how things worked and basically ruined what was left of his career. Down the road, when he couldn't get a break, he threatened to expose what went on and he suddenly "suicided" himself. No note.

It is weird that he hung himself so quickly and was found less than fifteen minutes later and dead. The timing for that seems suspicious.

The second guy I knew who killed himself deadlocked his friends in his apartment when he had invited them over for Sunday lunch and hung himself in the local park. They had to drop down off ththe balcony to get out, fortunately it was only one storey.

Acutane , a drug responsible for many suicides in the 1990s and 2000s.

My friend took this drug and became depressed really quickly. I lasted one month on the medication and then offed himself.

Career woes. It had to be terribly demoralizing for him to have worked steadily all those years as a kid only to find himself aged out of Hollywood in just his mid-20s. His family had even relocated out to L.A. years before so that he could focus on his career. That's a lot pressure to bear.

But I read Eliza Dushku’s account of being molester by the stunt coordinator on True Lies. Not even a powerful actor or producer, but he still had enough clout to get away with it even when the producers were told what was happening. There are enough people on a set that odds are there’s one who wants to take advantage of kids and realizes how easy it can be if they are considered necessary for the movie.

Eliza was messed up on drugs and alcohol for years because of that one time encounter. Not hard to believe Brandis sufferers something similar.
