Gay NYT reporter Jeremy Peters is seriously fucking up re: Trump
He wrote a puff piece on Alan Dershowitz, Trump's rabid defender on CNN and MSNBC, who has argued that Trump can't be impeached even if he colluded with Russia because collusion is not a crime — and claimed his being shunned on Martha's Vineyard is 'McCarthyism.'
Less than a week later, Peter Strzok was pilloried by Russia-defending Republicans in the hearing that has been compared to the McCarthy era.
Last month, Jeremy wrote a piece that included the story of an "ordinary Trump supporter" who is actually a longtime GOP operative — which could have been discovered via Google search.
And he apparently has a fat contract to write a book on Steve Bannon.
Thanks, Jeremy! Glad you're basically married to a doctor. Better get that ceremony in while you can! As for the rest of us...

This is the second time in a month that Peters has been called out for writing misleading puff pieces for Trump. If you challenge his reporting, he blocks you on Twitter.

He got close to $1 million for his book about Bannon and the current GOP.
So keep fucking the gays over in the Times — and making the GOP seem sympathetic for the midterms — so you can get access for that book, Jeremy!

What is the NYT, except a collection of "confusingly sympathetic" puff pieces on congresspersons, activists and academics who call for Trump's impeachment every day? So one conservative who used to be a liberal gets coverage that's not nasty for once, and it's off with the reporters' heads!

I find him very hot. And used to think he wasn't that bad. But he's taken a sharp turn for the worst in recent months. It's a shame

Nyt helped get Trump elected. The cunt hag Maureen Dowd has spent 20 years using their op ed to produce anti Clinton as well as anti democrat bile. Her peer, Maggie Haberman surreptitiously supported Trump as well and printed lies about the Clinton's in her book.

It's funny. I had no idea he was gay, but I had a visceral dislike of him from the first time I ever saw him on MSNBC. He's not on terribly often, but when he is I always feel like he's a liar.

Agreed. It's rather sad actually. Robust journalism is a cornerstone of a strong democracy.
[quote]Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
There's a reason why it's in the First Amendment.

from R18:
And then shit gets weird. The Post obtained a February 2015 email from Bannon's former landlord that read: "[E]ntire Jacuzzi bathtub seems to have been covered in acid."
WHAT?!
The landlord also noticed that padlocks had been installed on interior doors (creepy), while other doors were totally removed (also creepy).
[that does sound weird!]

The Times can't win for losing.
BernieBros swear the Times hated Sanders, ran multiple negative stories about him and helped elect Clinton.
Clinton lovers make R10s argument.
Trump's people follow Le Grand Orange's lead about the "failing" NYT that lives to take down Fearless Leader.
And then today you have this piece from the aptly named Charles Blow, who had written the same column every week for the past two years.
Though I swear that this has been the title of at least one DL thread, if not multiples.

R26 the times has this problem because they go to absurd lengths to maintain their both sides are equal philosophy. They are so committed to it that when they can't make a credible argument that both sides are even they will make up ridiculous shit. Anything but doing something that could get them criticized in bad faith by republicans as having bias.
It's made them gather all kinds of idiotic articles

It wasn't McCarthyism,! Vineyarders are basically progressive, educated and opinionated. Even the affluent Blacks in Oak Bluffs have cherished opinions they've held on to for years. Old money on the Cape, the Vineyard and even along the south coast (Buzzard Bay communities- Marion etc) are opinionated, somewhat isolated and would shun Trump types, regardless of his supposed wealth..

Jeremy Peters is pathetic in the NYT and worse on Twitter. A lot of respected, credible people have made good points in criticizing his work and he will have none of it, dismisses it as nonsense from extremists. Times people are known for their arrogance and he may be the worst.
As an aside, when he's being a pompous, nasty shithead on twitter, does nobody there take him aside and tell him to act less like a teen-age punk, more like a professional adult?

I agree something about the NYTimes sister extreme arrogance to entitlement to most of their reporters. Anyone who criticizes any piece of it is mocked and dismissed. In their minds they are each perfect

Regarding Dershowitz, however, he was on npr a few nights ago [1A] and I thought all the outrage against him is displaced. He’s the first to say he hates and disapproves of Trump. He’s just saying that if you’re gonna call for impeachment you need to have a verifiable, certifiable, bona fide crime having been committed to hang it on. Treason, bribery yes. But it’s also too easy to call despicable and incompetant behavior crimes. In fact the danger is criminalizing opposing political opinion - and that is far too dangerous a slope to slip diwn. As a lefty myself, I want to Impeach Trump for every deplorable Tweet. But we need the goods on his beyond-a-doubt commital of a crime before we should impeach. And hopefully, that is precisely what Mueller is taking his sweet time in doing.

You're full of shit R33 Dershowitz has never said he hates trump or want him gone and is one of his most devoted pundits on network News. Only thing I've ever seen him criticize trump on is separating families

by Anonymous | reply 37 | July 17, 2018 4:48 AM

R33 I think what people are outraged about Dershowitz for is his claims that being disinvited from a few dinner parties is equivalent to McCarthyism.
That level of self-involved narcissism is indeed shocking.

The Dershowitz troll is full of shit. While he makes stuff up, here is me posting an actual clip of his shameless defense of trump.
And not just Trump, he also says democrats should get behind his newest ultra conservative supreme court pick.
So go fuck yourself troll. Dershowitz is staunchly pro trump and has been for over a year

Dershowitz attacked the FBI for seizing Michael Cohen documents (even though the crimes he was charged with don't involve Trump.)
Then went to the white house for a private dinner that same week

R33 here is Dershowitz writing in his own words that trump shouldn't be impeached EVEN IF WE FIND EVIDENCE HE COLLUDED WITH RUSSIA.
That's literally the opposite of your post that he supposedly just doesn't think Dems have enough to impeach right now. Again, you have no idea what you're talking about or are a troll
