Nancy Sinatra Sr., first wife of Frank Sinatra, dies at 101

Her daughter, Nancy Sinatra Jr., tweeted that her mother died Friday and a posting on her web page said she died at 6:02 p.m. but didn't indicate where she died.

"She was a blessing and the light of my life," her daughter said.

She also remained friendly with her ex-husband, the latter being said to have put in requests over the years for pasta and other Italian food dishes she was known to be an expert at preparing. She never remarried.

"There is no bitterness, only great respect and affection between Sinatra and his first wife," Gay Talese wrote in 1966, "and he has long been welcome in her home and has even been known to wander in at odd hours, stoke the fire, lie on the sofa, and fall asleep."

by Anonymousreply 12July 14, 2018 7:24 AM

"Stoke the fire"--is that a euphemism?

by Anonymousreply 13July 14, 2018 7:29 AM

101? She was due, then. 1) Wolders, 2) N. Sinatra Sr., 3) ?

by Anonymousreply 15July 14, 2018 7:38 AM

Yeah, when HBO ran that Sinatra documentary, I was surprised that Nancy Sr. was still alive. I bet she was a fantastic cook.

by Anonymousreply 16July 14, 2018 12:30 PM

Nancy. Sr. was best buddies with Barbara Stanwyck for many years. She also was producer Ross Hunter's beard at numerous public events.

Nancy Sinatra is one of the last of the good ol' broads.

by Anonymousreply 30July 15, 2018 6:06 AM

Where's the "So young" Olivia de Havilland troll?

by Anonymousreply 31July 15, 2018 6:50 AM

I doubt there will be any auction, but Nancy Sr. had quite the collection of jewelry. Every time Frank cheated, another brooch for Nan. She was a lovely woman and big supporter of gay rights.

by Anonymousreply 32July 15, 2018 7:09 AM

Am I in the will?
