Plenty of other TV character, like Robbie Douglas, had at least part time jobs working their way through college.
Why Didn't Mike Stivic Have A Job?

That was a key plotline throughout the show. Archie was always badgering Mike to get a job, while Mike wanted to devote all his time to his studies.

Where did they live? Was he going to Queens College?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | July 10, 2018 4:01 PM |
He was too busy protesting to work.

Too busy being a SJW.

He was a lazy bum living off his wife's parents.

He was going to Columbia. Didn’t he have a fellowship in grad school?

He was attending the Fashion Institute of Technology but got thrown out for being a slob.

Well thats a commute. Did they live in the Bronx?

He was a perpetual student.
There was one episode where he worked as a tutor to pay Archive back for something.

Because back then, television writing had some nuance, OP. Mike's viewpoints were presented as being politically and morally sound in most cases, but that didn't mean he was perfect. He could still be self-righteous, arrogant, and annoying. Oh, and lazy as hell.

He eventually graduated and became a teacher. They moved next door to Archie for a couple of seasons and then Mike was offered a position in California. That is when Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers left the show.

No they lived in queens.

The actual house in the opening credits was in Glendale Queens, but in AitF lore it’s supposed to be set in either Corona or Astoria.
Btw, a lot of those houses are gone, bought up by wealthy immigrants who knock them down and fill the entire lot with brick apartment houses

FLUSHING R16

I don't recall it was ever stated where Mike went to college. Both Archie and Gloria are depicted as riding the subway to work. Archie works at the docks so that would put him in Manhattan.

Archie Bunker would have LOVED Donald Trump because like Archie he's a Protestant White Male from Queens , N.Y.

Definitely, R20. In fact Trump reminds me of Archie mixed with Caruso from Everybody Hates Chris.

R13 is the best answer here.
