It certainly sounds like Andy, who's been going to the Pines forever... and ever... Andy is quite rich although not ridiculously so, and is in great shape for someone his age (70). That said, so what? He likes being around young guys. HIs long time companion died a few years ago and he's having a nice life hanging around pretty boys. Why be so judgmental? We gays keep telling everyone else to stop judging us. And then we judge and judge and judge.

If you are talking about Andy- he has been one of my best friends since 1976. He has done more for gay men than everyone on DL put together. He’s a major creative philanthropist- and self made from writing and a pre Quicjen program called Managing you money. FYI; treasurer without pay for 17 years of the DNC, raised more money for Obama than any individual (Obama’s words). Andy has lots of friends and among the young friends most are in their 30s. He tends take interest in guys with intelligence and talent in addition to looks :) Most of them are going places in life- Yes he helps them- absolutely no strings attached. Got news for you fellas- helping young people succeed in life is one of the most rewarding parts of growing older, if you are generous and lucky enough to do so. Andy’s partner of decades died of cancer about 8 years ago and he has thrown himself into his friends like a pied piper of optimism and support. I treasure his friendship and on the rare occasion that I visit the Pines- going to tea with Andy and his weekend household is a highlight. I talk to him and see him regularly and I’m 65.

I want to be in the entourage! Missed that part of my life by working all the time. Is it too late? I'm 60, in case the actual number matters.

Charlie you should at least acknowledge that this behavior is also very self-serving. I suspect he's not doing much to help unattractive young straight women succeed in life, nor is he hanging out with them on the Pines.

R46, Sheesh- one of the kindest, most positive generous people I’ve known in my life. And yes, his friends are not all lookers- he’s also a role model for how to use wealth to help others- those he knows and those who need help who he does not know.

R46- I also think his work on behalf of the DNC for 17 years as treasurer (without pay), as a significant fund raiser for HRC and countless other female pols in the Democratic party for much more than 17 years, indirectly supporting their concerns more than addresses your "unattractive straight women" comment. In fact my guess is that few gay men in the USA have done more for women's issues than Andy.
