Is your TV on?

What are you sorta watching while you are on DL? I'm watching a Nicholas Cage movie called Knowing(2009). It's incredibly awful. You really have to see sometime.

by Anonymousreply 60July 18, 2018 4:07 AM

Fave the Nation, but it has been paused for hours while I clean up and cut my hair.

by Anonymousreply 1July 8, 2018 6:56 PM

*face

I don’t make 0.00000001% as many typos anywhere else as I do on this website. What is with the weird draggy delay all the time?

by Anonymousreply 2July 8, 2018 6:57 PM

Baseball game.

by Anonymousreply 3July 8, 2018 6:58 PM

Property Brothers with the volume turned down.

by Anonymousreply 4July 8, 2018 6:59 PM

Boise Boys on HGTV...thought the thin guy was gay by his attire and design aesthetic but apparently not.

by Anonymousreply 5July 8, 2018 7:02 PM

TCM - A Streetcar Named Desire.

by Anonymousreply 6July 8, 2018 7:02 PM

Old episodes of Family Guy I've set my DVR to record off ITV.

Gave The Expanse S01 a go earlier but had no idea what was going on.

by Anonymousreply 7July 8, 2018 7:05 PM

I'm watching The Hotel Inspector - it's addictive.

by Anonymousreply 8July 8, 2018 7:05 PM

OP Knowing came on the tv a few weeks ago. The first time i saw it, it scared the shit out of me.

by Anonymousreply 9July 8, 2018 7:05 PM

Not a multitasker and can't stand background noise so my tv is decidedly off.

by Anonymousreply 10July 8, 2018 7:09 PM

"Murder On The Orient Express," on a free movie channel. The one with Finney, Connery, Bergman, Redgrave, Bacall et.al. Never gets old.

by Anonymousreply 11July 8, 2018 7:10 PM

In just about 10 minutes, I will be sorta watching Nic Cage, Dwight Yoakam, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Dennis Hopper in John Dahl's 1993 film, "Red Rock West." Channel: HDNet Movies

The '90s kicked ass for some of the best films -

I'm with R10. Nothing trashier than a home where the tv is never off.

by Anonymousreply 13July 8, 2018 7:11 PM

^^ Exsqueeeze me, but with the cost of HD/digital cable, as far as we're concerned we're losing money if we're not watching TV!

(Fire up those flat screens, baby!)

by Anonymousreply 14July 8, 2018 7:14 PM

[quote] Nothing trashier than a home where the tv is never off.

Nothing snootier than a person that thinks having the TV off makes him sophisticated.

by Anonymousreply 15July 8, 2018 7:28 PM

Dolores Claiborne, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, on HBO.

Starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, who wears sunglasses on cloudy, foggy days in Maine, and Kathy Bates!

by Anonymousreply 16July 8, 2018 7:28 PM

Cubs v Reds

Ian Happ of the Cubs is pretty hot.

by Anonymousreply 17July 8, 2018 7:31 PM

I'm Watching Murder on the Orient Express too, r11. I haven't watched it in years and knew I'd enjoy it but I had forgotten how absolutely fabulous it actually is. The remake is inferior and totally unnecessary.

by Anonymousreply 18July 8, 2018 7:33 PM

Why would you have your tv on if you're not really watching it, though? I don't understand people who need the sound of constant blather as some sort of security blanket.

by Anonymousreply 19July 8, 2018 7:33 PM

Cops marathon.

by Anonymousreply 20July 8, 2018 7:36 PM

Naked and Afraid. The guy has a really cute ass

by Anonymousreply 21July 8, 2018 7:36 PM

My aunt and uncle have their TV on 24/7 and have for years. Even when they have guests they don't turn it off and they live in a loft so you can see and hear it no matter where you are.

by Anonymousreply 22July 8, 2018 7:37 PM

R17, I’m watching Brewers/Braves. I love Christian Yelich.

by Anonymousreply 23July 8, 2018 7:38 PM

just watched Vatel (i love Stoppard!) and now watching something from Denmark, i think.

last night i watched The Brand New Testament and thought it was adorable.

by Anonymousreply 24July 8, 2018 7:39 PM

Maddening, R22.

by Anonymousreply 25July 8, 2018 7:40 PM

Rewatching Boston Legal

by Anonymousreply 26July 8, 2018 7:42 PM

Reruns of "Benson" on OWNHD.

by Anonymousreply 27July 8, 2018 7:54 PM

I've been bingeing "How It's Made" on the Science channel all day. An every Sunday pleasure for me.

by Anonymousreply 28July 8, 2018 8:03 PM

Says r10 with her nose in the air.

by Anonymousreply 29July 8, 2018 8:03 PM

Killing Spree.....but I'll probably change it to Murder She Wrote. Maybe The Brady Bunch.

by Anonymousreply 30July 8, 2018 8:08 PM

r12, that’s a really good movie. It just twists and turns from start to finish.

by Anonymousreply 31July 8, 2018 8:12 PM

Mama’s Family on MeTV but an older without Bubba’s Bulge. Not the same.

by Anonymousreply 32July 8, 2018 8:18 PM

F/X the movie with Bryan Brown and New York in the 80s.

by Anonymousreply 33July 8, 2018 8:19 PM

by Anonymousreply 34July 8, 2018 8:20 PM

by Anonymousreply 35July 8, 2018 8:20 PM

AND you're typing, R35! Quite a talent.

by Anonymousreply 36July 8, 2018 8:31 PM

Netflix, some dark comedy called "Night Owls" about a nice guy whose one night stand turns out to be the date from hell.

by Anonymousreply 37July 8, 2018 10:21 PM

Looking! Love it, so far

by Anonymousreply 38July 8, 2018 11:35 PM

Ooh-Ooh, r33! Bryan bulging his tighty-whities!

To answer the question, no. We're playing some Brazilian music CD on the 'hi-fi'.

I just spent a few days with some friends in TX. Their TV is on constantly, even when people dropped by, and whenever we'd visit their friends and relatives, THEIR televisions were on. These were college-educated people, not white trash watching pro wrestling. It was either the local news or CNN.

I hate that.

Where I grew up, in '60s - '70s suburbia, watching TV was fine, but having it on all day was not, and certainly not when we had 'company coming'.

by Anonymousreply 40July 8, 2018 11:56 PM

Lost in Transition on TLC.

by Anonymousreply 41July 9, 2018 3:35 AM

Handmaids Tale then a bad thriller on Netflix.

by Anonymousreply 42July 9, 2018 4:00 AM

TV, so 2000s.

by Anonymousreply 43July 9, 2018 4:02 AM

Nope, it's Sunday Night and PBS. I put the phone down because you have to pay attention: Endeavour and the third season of The Tunnel.

by Anonymousreply 44July 9, 2018 4:07 AM

Fargo on Cinemax

by Anonymousreply 45July 9, 2018 4:38 AM

Bones rerun from when the show was still sharp and witty I have never seen before.

by Anonymousreply 46July 9, 2018 4:48 AM

Normally never on just in background (snooty me!) and usually play tunes and music instead.

However, during this whole Thai Cave drama, have ABC 24news channel on (Australian) constantly since rescue began in earnest as channel is doing frequent live crosses to a journalist who's been there sometime. It's on mute unless Cave stuff pops up.

by Anonymousreply 47July 9, 2018 4:54 AM

R8 I love Hotel Inspector.

I’m watching Good Girls on Netflix. It’s not particularly good, but I like the leads (Christina Hendricks, Rhetta and Mae Whitman). It’s also simple enough that I don’t have to pay attention constantly.

by Anonymousreply 48July 9, 2018 4:58 AM

I don't find it trashy. I just don't get why someone would have the TV on if they're not watching it. Do you leave your car running and your freezer door open?

by Anonymousreply 49July 9, 2018 5:17 AM

Nothing

Nada

Zip

by Anonymousreply 50July 9, 2018 5:20 AM

I know r2, I get the same thing and sometimes I will have a whole post laboriously thought about and typed and all of a sudden it will all highlight and then disappear. DL must have some kind of shitty server.

by Anonymousreply 51July 9, 2018 5:25 AM

I’m watching Ironside on Cozi TV with Jessica Walter.

by Anonymousreply 52July 9, 2018 5:35 AM

The first season of [italic]Tremé[/italic]. I'd forgotten how obnoxious Michiel Huisman's character is.

by Anonymousreply 53July 9, 2018 5:37 AM

Now I’m watching Patty Duke on Night Gallery on MeTV.

by Anonymousreply 54July 9, 2018 6:02 AM

I'm watching The Sundowners with Robert Mitchum murdering an Australian accent. Good god, this film sucks. I keep hanging on wondering if it will get better. Deborah Kerr just said 'shed wee byah a new orse?'. Dear god.

by Anonymousreply 55July 9, 2018 7:27 AM

The African Queen on Movies! I thought tv would suck without cable, but I got an antenna, cut the cord and have found good tv for free. PBS has good shows on all the time.

by Anonymousreply 56July 10, 2018 9:27 PM

Sons of Anarchy Season 5

by Anonymousreply 57July 10, 2018 9:37 PM
