“Cis” to mean “not trans” I don’t really have a problem with. I wouldn’t ever use it about myself but if a trans person says it about me, I don’t care.

“Cis” as “gender identity conforms to sex assigned at birth” can fuck off. Lots of people don’t gender-conform. Being gay in and of itself is non-gender-conforming, for example.

Modern (English-speaking) people never used it outside of Chemistry - until pro-Trans activist Julia Serano co-opted it to start unilaterally labelling humans (with a label no one wanted or identified with or even knew about).

No Roman / Latin scholar called humans “cis”. Its predominant use in English is restricted to Chemistry:
