He signed up for "21 and over" which included a scene of his character kissing a guy, and he fought like hell on set to get it removed. And even freely talked in interviews how he was "pretty upset" they actually made him do it, but don't worry, he definitely refused to use tongue!

I love how everybody has turned on this movie with this casting. The featured comment on Deadline is “In the annals of hilariously bad movies that are unintentionally funny, this could be a classic. This is the Stayin’ Alive of the skies.”

Miles is a good actor. Just watch Rabbit Hole, The Spectacular Now and even the Footloose remake. He was great in those.

But then he did that Esquire interview and started picking shitty roles (Fantastic Four reboot) and he comes off as a smug prick.

MIles Teller is a good actor, but he should need to be 100 times better to carry his ego. The comments about Divergent could put him on a black list inmediately, if you do a movie for money it's perfectly ok but you should be profesional enough to make the promo without being a douche. He is pretty nasty to journalist wich is not a good idea either because it's more bad press and he is not a big star who can afford that

The first one was unwatchable-

He's not super-attractive, but he's attractive enough that the sudden burst of stardom went right to his head. This is very common with attractive young male actors who seem to cultivate a reputation for dickishness if they hit it big before 30: look at Tom Hardy, Alex Pettyfer, Colin Farrell, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Leo di Caprio. Di Caprio was so famous by the time the stories about the "Pussy Posse" leaked that he was pretty untouchable, but the others all suffered enormous career damage (although Hardy may yet recover).

Teller's mistake is that for the last three years he always brings up the Esquire story and whines that the author victimized him by cherry-picking the quotes; but he never denies he said the quotes, so he comes across not just as a sick but a [italic]whiny[/italic] dick. If he were smart (or had a smart PR person), when he does interviews now he would say, "You know, re-reading that interview I realize I was going through a really childish phase at the time because my head was turned by sudden rush of fame, but I'm really trying to grow up now and be more responsible and less of an asshole." That's what Colin Farrell ultimately had to do, but Farrell may have done it too late for that to help.
