It used to be considered rude in the Broadway fan community to stop actors on their way in before the show, but with all the Hollywood celebrities coming to Broadway and bringing their fans to the stagedoor, I suppose standards have changed.

Approaching any performer before a performance for fan purposes--unless at the performer's suggestion--is extremely rude behavior because it unnecessarily disrupts this process.

It's not the fact that more performers are coming from Hollywood that has changed things; it's immature, self-important social media obsessives who have changed things.

If doing so before the actor performs it’s not right to judge them for it and call it rudeness or immature. That’s just presumptuous and just as rude then to assume. Fans dreaming about meeting their favorite actor one day doesn't justify overstepping social boundaries. I've seen fans physically grab actors while demanding selfies. It's completely rude. Many actors feel bad saying no because they don't want to upset their fans, or cause some social media backlash against them because they were "mean" to a fan, so they put up with increasingly inappropriate behavior. A true fan shouldn't force someone they admire in an uncomfortable situation to comply with their selfish fantasy of meeting them.

I have a friend who is a very minor celebrity and he once told me he was having a serious argument with a boyfriend when he was approached by a fan. He tried to politely explain to the fan that now wasn't a good time, but they wouldn't be deterred, so he was forced to take a picture with this fan while literally in the midst of a breakup.

Rude behavior is liking posts on Instagram backstage while you’re waiting for your next scene to come up, not even waiting for intermission.

The last stage door was a huge crowd. I was there today for the final performance. Lee fucking deserved that nom he was robbed of, he's an amazing Joe. The first time I felt sorry for this character. It is not a grateful or giving role either. Others have more charismatic dialogue, interesting shticks, sympathetic storylines. Joe doesn't have much of anything. He practically spends seven hours being closeted, miserable, confused, miserable, more miserable than ever. He is rarely given funny moments too, and the audience loves funny.
