People I want regular updates on:
Miss Howard Stern, Andrea Ownsby - such a train wreck. How messed up is she now?
Tan Mom - another mess
KC Armstrong - is he still mental?
Medicated Pete - his Tourette's makes him funny
Elephant Boy - any more men or will he ever marry that GF? Remember when he shit his pants?
Siobhan the transsexual - still in that squat with a billion cats?

Medicated Pete has a big one. Back in Howard TV days they showed him really bulging in his boxers.

One person I remember from the 80's is this caller they named "Vicky the Drunk". She called in a few times, slurring and rambling and very entertaining in a sloppy way. We learned about her life of passing out drunk in her building, sun bathing naked on her balcony, how her rich family washed their hands of her and paid her off to stay away, having her daughter taken away because she was too boozed up to take care of her, yelling when the cops stop by to tell her to turn down her music. A real mess.
Howard had her down to the studio so he could take a look at her - she was a drunk hot mess when she showed up, holding a cup with vodka and orange juice. Bobcat Goldthwait was in the studio that day and they had a very hilarious conversation. I still wonder what happened to Vicky after all these years.

I used to listen to him on K-rock in NY back in the nineties. Underdog Lady was both hilarious and scary. I would literally be crying with laughter listening to him on my Walkman (yes, I'm that old) on the bus to work.
I'll never forget their reinactment of the death of Princess Diana, with Fred as Henri, the perpetually drunk chauffeur.

I loved Crazy Alice, especially when she'd go toe to toe with Artie Lange.

What I didn’t realize, because no one talked about PDD and the Autism Spectrum back then, was that she was autistic.

What's Steve Grillo doing these days? He leaves the show to pursue his burning desire to be an actor. He even got some producer to make a "sizzle reel" to shop around. Then the putz visits the show years later, saying that he had a temp job as a census taker while still chasing the acting thing. He was so sure that he could be the next great Italian actor. I bet he's mopping floors somewhere.
Also, Lisa G - is she still doing cookie parties?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 28, 2018 2:33 PM |

I was listening to some old clips and was reminded of caller Ian the Drunk. I hated when he called the show, with his droning questions and despicable accent but a small part of me is curious if he ever straightened up or drank himself to death.

Every once in a while I wonder about those porn stars and Playboy centerfolds that used to come in in the 80-90's- how are they fairing now that time and age have happened. How many have ditched the huge implants, settled down, gotten married and had a few kids. How was it transitioning to being a soccer mom after the years frolicking in the grotto at the Playboy mansion. How many are like Heather Locklear and Jenna Jameson - drinking and slowly spiraling into madness.
Where is Jackie the Jokeman appearing this weekend?

I knew this big guy named Joey something who was on the show a lot, but he died. I think it was the drugs or the booze. He was pretty weird irl, but mostly harmless. He sort of lived in his own world.

There was a “Wack Pack Convention” a month or two ago. I know the older fans probably loved it but most of the more interesting ones have passed away Nicole Bass, Eric the Actor....didn’t Gary the Conqueror die too?
Wendy, Medicated Pete, Asian Pete, Someone I can’t remember (High Pitch Eric. No wonder I forgot) and apparently I missed the make up with Jeff the drunk because he was there.
High Pitch is the worst.
I miss Artie. He could screw around with these folks on the phone even better than Howard sometimes.
It’s not the 90’s anymore. They all e-beg now. I’m only 30 and only know the show after 2005 or so. I try to listen when he’s on. I like the spin Howard puts on current events and I really like Fred and Robin.
My mom got me interested in the E show when I was a kid. Looking back on one the other day I saw a JonBenet Ramsey joke that would have ruined anyone working today. I wonder why my mom thought this was ok for a kid haha.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | July 8, 2018 3:04 PM |
Artie is the worst. The most homophobic. He was the worst on the show.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | July 8, 2018 3:11 PM |
I have to block R49.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | July 8, 2018 3:12 PM |
It's kind of unusual that they're not having High Pitch on that often - you think they'd be all over him after his weight loss surgery, keeping track of how much he's lost/gained, etc. I heard he was kind of on the outs after he threatened to kill his lawyers child during one of his podcasts.
People are also speculating whether Scott Salem is still part of the show after his wife's death. It came out that Scott had to go the Go Fund Me route to help pay for his wife's medical expenses the last year of her life and fans are disgusted that it appears that the show did nothing to assist. No mention of it by Howard nor any plugs to point folks to the fundraising efforts. Artie is such a sweet guy that he did a show where the proceeds went to Scott. I mean, how could Howard make fun of "sad sack" Scott on the air after his horrible circumstances?
by Anonymous | reply 52 | July 8, 2018 3:23 PM |
I’m very sad about Scott. Maybe Scott didn’t want it on the show?
by Anonymous | reply 53 | July 8, 2018 3:35 PM |
R50. I don’t think Arite is what the kids would call an ally but a vitriolic homophobe he is not. He grew up in Jersey with a really tough dad and a lot of “mans-man” kind of Uncles.
He may say fag every once in a while but I don’t for a moment believe that he would be rude or mean to a gay person he met in real life just for the hell of it. I think he’s a lot kinder and sympathetic can you give them credit for.
R51 I take it you liked that show a lot? Haha
by Anonymous | reply 54 | July 8, 2018 7:46 PM |
[quote]How about Beetlejuice and High Pitch Erik?
Beetlejuice and Crackhead Bob are both deceased. An old school friend's nephew was a producer, forgot his name. He would come on the air once in awhile and talk about the pornstar he fucked, no, it wasn't Jenna Jameson, it was a dark haired woman who looked Mid-Eastern. It's been so long since I listened to Stern, it's difficult to remember all the characters, the guests etc.
I came across a tape I made of the Reunification of Germany skit and the Long Island Railroad fight. Hilarious stuff. I have tons of Stern tapes, I would tape the early morning portion of the show, then listen to it at work. I always tried to tape the celebrity interviews. I should sell these tapes on eBay, probably wouldn't be legal though!
by Anonymous | reply 55 | July 8, 2018 7:55 PM |
Beetlejuice is NOT dead - he just left the area. He's now in GA with his mom and doesn't come up north that often so he's not on the show like he used to be.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | July 8, 2018 10:27 PM |
Scott is employed by Sirius not Howard. Howard insisted they hire Scott when he came to Sirius. I find it hard to believe that Sirius has such a shitty health plan that they could not pay for his wife's medical care. FWIW they are not mentioning it because Scott asked them not to. They are not talking about it out of respect for Scott and his family.

by Anonymous | reply 59 | July 8, 2018 10:37 PM |
r59 omg the funniest thing I ever saw was on that show. They had on Richard Simmons and he brought on three people who lost a lot of weight. They sat around a table and Jackie, Fred and Howard had Twinkies on fishing poles and lowered them down in front of the former fatties while Richard lost his shit.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | July 8, 2018 10:47 PM |
Uh no r55, Beetlejuice is not dead.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | July 8, 2018 11:24 PM |
Alright already! Thought I read about Beetlejuice's death online a few years ago. Sue me.
You all seem to know about Beetlejuice, so who was the producer guy who fucked the pornstar? He worked for Howard when the radio show was still on K-Rock and also for Howard on his nightly TV series.
What about the ugly woman Gyna (as in Vagina), didn't get her appeal, why did Howard waste so must time with so many people who weren't all that funny or interesting?
Who was the very unattractive guy with the huge penis? I read he was stopped an an airport a few years ago because they thought he had bomb or was smuggling 'something' in his pants. The guy is so ugly he can't even have a career in porn.

For all the people talking about the WWOR Channel 9 TV show Saturday night in the New York area, that was Stern at his finest. Started during the summer of 1990 at 11pm. Remember it well. "Howiewood Squares" with the KKK guy (constantly dropping the n-bomb) in the center square, along with Gilbert Godfried-the kissing lesbians-the female black muslim in the other squares, also he also had grandpa Al Lewis, tons of Michael Jackson skits, Mr. Blackwell skits, gay skits with Jackie the Jokeman and that was when stuttering John Melendez did his interviews, going up to Joan Rivers, Morton Downey Junior, Ted Williams, etc. Good stuff.

R82, yes. And there was some straight couple where the wife was bi-curious so they had some diesel lesbian punker (I can’t remember now) come on and act out the famous beach kiss scene from “From Here To Eternity” with the wife.
And they had “Homeless Howiewood Squares” with real homeless they picked up off the streets.
And they’d have Martha Ray and her gay husband?
Oh lord, I’m laughing now.

Isn’t it strange that so many of the Stern characters are either dead or at least thought to be dead? Or, mentally or medically troubled? Doesn’t that suggest that the show is toxic?
I had a family member who worked there and I told him when he started to stay as long as he was learning and or making connections. Once that peaked, to get out and move on to something else.

Jerry O'Connell and Beetlejuice were friends way before he was dicovered by Howard. Jerry's mother was a special ed teacher and Beetlejuice was one of her pupils. She took a liking to him and made him her classroom assistant. Jerry would visit with him whenever he came to see his mother. Years later he turned on the show and heard Beetlejuice being interviewed.
Penny Crone retired as a reporter and now sells real estate in NYC for Douglass Elliman. She's pushing 70.
Does anyone remember when Howard invited gay porn star and bareback pig, Michael Lucas, on the show and challenged Fred to let him fuck him in the ass? There was a whole build up to the challenge, I can't for the life of me remember if they went through with it. I think I may have had to leave to go to work just as the segment was getting good. Can anyone fill in the blank? I know Lucas said he was aroused by Fred's shyness.
KC was hot as fuck, but batshit crazy. His brought his mom on the show once and she was hot too! There were intervals where he would disappear and then have some crazy story to tell the gang. Once he went off on his girlfriend and ripped a door off the hinges. Her dad had to step in. I believe he has several psych holds under his belt. He has his own podcast.
