Say Yes to the Dress
Do you watch? Tonight the Atlanta version's episode featured Monte Durham planning his best friend's wedding. His friend's son is gay, just 16, and sees Monte as a mentor. They talked a bit about Monte's early life, how close he is to his mother, and that her stylish clothes influenced him to go into fashion. He is also a trained hair stylist. His friend's son is very cute.
I always enjoyed the Manhattan Say Yes and really like Randy Fenoli, it took me a while to warm to Monte, but now I like both men and both shows. There was an episode that featured Randy's mother and he looks just like her. She was a trip, likes to ride motorcycles in her 80s.
I think it would get very tiring working with brides but Randy and Monte seem to cope with it OK. Doing the show has probably been fun for them. I would not like all that wedding drama.
Do you have a favorite between Randy and Monte?

I watch both shows. They're fun. Some brides are out of control!
Randy is a really good designer. Monte is fun. He apparently lives in Alexandria VA. My sis-in-law has seen him at the Safeway.

Randy is professional and informed. Monte seems more like a decent employee.

Yes, I watch both shows, they're fun. It looks like a lot of the spats are set up though. I like both Randy and Monte. I like the Manhattan show best because of the location.

I love Randy. If I were a bride he is who I'd choose to guide me through the dress process. He's just the epitome.
Monte is really good at the Let's Jack Her Up part. It always amazed me how he could transform their hair into an updo so quickly but then I learned he used to be a hairstylist. For the longest I just saw Monte as the snarky sidekick but then I saw the annual specials he does where he goes to a really disadvantage high school & gives the boys/girls the prom experience--gowns, tuxes, jewelry, shoes, hair, etc.. The kids had so many obstacles no kids should have to face yet they were positive with plans & ambition. Monte would be weeping & so would I............Yeah, I know! MARY!

Both Randy and Monte are good, caring people. You'd have to be to tolerate some of those bridezillas.

I would wear BOTH those jackets in R6's pic in a heartbeat!

What an awkward episode last night.
Seeing the little person try on dresses was uncomfortable. The future sis in law wanted her to just pick out any dress so they could get out of there.

I'm kicking myself for missing the episode where Lisa Robertson (QVC) was contractually forced to attend her QVC replacement's Kleinfield shopping spree.
(I flipped to the channel/program at the ending, only long enough to catch La Robertson with daggers for eyes. She was not happy to be there.)

It's amazing how jealous the sisters sitting on the coach, supposedly giving advice, often are.

I didn't find it awkward at all. I thought Lori, Monte & Flo were very kind & respectful to the bride & did a wonderful job finding a gown for her.

I really like Randy's new designer wedding dresses. Are they only sold at Kleinfelds?
What happened to that dude who showed up about a year ago and was trying to take over from Randy? Is that why Randy went into designing dresses?

Gay men who make a living chasing after straight women and catering to their demands creep me out. Of course the show is a hit since that’s how society wants to see gay men: neutered and powerless.
No thanks.
