I know variations of this pop up quite regularly (some started by me), but I'm having a shit week and one of the things I love most of all is watching really good, tightly plotted and atmospheric thrillers from the 80s (preferably) or 90s. Can anyone recommend any, please? Well-known and obscure, underrated, etc. I just watched THE NARROW MARGIN, which is pretty good; and I saw DEAD OF WINTER the other day which was great.

After Dark, My Sweet (1990) is a good neo noir. Jason Patric looked so hot in the film. And there's a character in it who is hinted to be gay (and obsessed with Patric).

r2 I actually found DataLounge after googling DRESSED TO KILL about 10 years ago. I'm going to watch BLOW OUT and THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE tomorrow. Thanks!
Another film I was just reading about, which I haven't seen, is the Costa Gavras film MISSING, but I don't think that's a thriller. Talking of Jack Lemmon, I watched THE CHINA SYNDROME for the first time, last week. That's a wonderful film.
