There are so many ridiculous videos, especially from those halcyon years of the music video '81-'91, it's hard to know where to begin. Here's one of my favorite nonsensical videos: "Dynamite" by Jermaine Jackson. I mean, I get it: it's about a prison break. But, um, why??? And why are the guards all female/the prisoners all male? And why do the guards dance along with the inmates on the early choruses if they're supposed to be capturing them? And whaddup with the balletic grand jetés by the inmates? Is this Rikers or the Bolshoi??
My favorite moment is the fat lady doing that little tap move at about 3:32.
