Why do bodybuilders always resort to the so-called G4P?

It is always interesting to read people's opinions so I wonder what you guys think about this. Bodybuilding as an industry always try to dissociate itself from suspicions of homosexuality and from the idea that gay guys comprise a relevant number of fans of the "sport" yet the industry seems to realy heavily on gay men to stay active. So-called G4P seems huge and very active activity; bodybuilders don't seem enthusiast about having regular jobs where gay men won't look at them like sex objects.

Publicly despised; privately desired. Such a contradiction.

Bump.

by Anonymousreply 1September 7, 2018 3:12 AM

Muscles like that are gross.

by Anonymousreply 2September 7, 2018 3:14 AM

If they were gross then bodybuilders wouldn't be so popular and highly demanded in gay porn, webcams, etc. Let alone the fact that bodybuilding as an industry relies heavily on gay fans to make money.

by Anonymousreply 3September 7, 2018 3:20 AM

Your numerous threads about this are incredibly boring and contrived. It's clear you are posing as multiple posters. You should probably move on to the next thing in your life.

by Anonymousreply 4September 7, 2018 3:24 AM

Where can I donate?

by Anonymousreply 5September 7, 2018 3:24 AM

Most bodybuilders are not G4P. Stop exaggerating and projecting your fantasies, OP.

by Anonymousreply 6September 7, 2018 3:29 AM

False, OP.

The majority of men into weightlifting are straight guys who want to attract more chicks and strengthen their bodies.

You can keep projecting false motives and orientations on to them as much as you want, but you're never going to change the reality that they DON'T WANT YOU and BODYBUILDING IS NOT NECESSARILY GAY.

You're a lunatic and I hope you get your ass kicked.

by Anonymousreply 7September 7, 2018 3:47 AM

This is about bodybuilders engaging in production of gay-oriented stuff; it's not about weight-lifting and, there are a lots of gay and bisexual men in bodybuilding. Even bodybuilders themselves say it. Stop projecting your anger on others R7

OP = Troll 5029, the poster with a severe, untreated case of OCD.

Go away, then seek psychiatric help.

by Anonymousreply 9September 7, 2018 10:25 AM

OP is not 5029. OP is why don’t Bodybuilders admit their sport is inherently homoerotic Troll.

by Anonymousreply 10September 7, 2018 10:43 AM

They are opportunists and they want money. They see themselves as businessmen so it isn't "gay" to them. Some may be acting out on repressed desires but it's probably the same type of thing that causes gay men to be able to design great clothes for straight women: we don't have to want to fuck it to admire a woman's curves and beauty.

by Anonymousreply 11September 7, 2018 10:47 AM

Aw shit, any gym in "real life" - read not gay-centric - is filled with hedonistic guys, loving to look good to an extreme.

by Anonymousreply 12September 7, 2018 12:46 PM

The only women interested in men with these types of physiques are either hardcore bodybuilders themselves, or women with a personality disorder, who want some giant around to fend off other men who she fucks while dating the body builder, or shamelessly flirts with. I’ve seen these chicks. They fuck around on their bodybuilder boyfriend, and then deny it when confronted, and they then send out the bodybuilder boyfriend to smash the other guy’s brains to a pulp, in order to defend their honor.

Over muscular men are not attractive to most women. Glad the gays like ‘em!

by Anonymousreply 13September 7, 2018 3:21 PM

Bodybuilders are very aware that their bodies attract more attention from men, than they do women. Go to a fitness expo. Guys wait for hours for a photo with a guy who has an amazing body. I understand admiring a sports star for their athletic ability, but admiring a guy because of the muscles on their body, and it not being connected to fantasy? Sure Jan. Go to any bodybuilding competition. Men wearing jocks, showing off for admiration, while men in the crowd scream and holler at them. Sure, not homoerotic at all...

by Anonymousreply 14September 8, 2018 4:43 AM

Really interesting both R13 and R14

Why would those women look for more sex with other men if they already have the bodybuilder?

by Anonymousreply 15September 8, 2018 6:39 AM

R13 they do attract a certain type of woman - namely one with long fake nails, bleached hair, excessive boob job, and pink Yoga pants that show off their big booties.

As far as I know, in past decades performing on stage with a certain "charm" or attitude was also taken into account in the judging; in other words, your attitude had to beguile the judges.

Watching some videos from the 80's bodybuilding gives off a bit of a porn-ish air so to speak.

by Anonymousreply 18September 8, 2018 6:20 PM

Bruh, I need to go to a fitness expo

by Anonymousreply 19September 8, 2018 6:30 PM

R15, who knows? I don’t identify with this type of woman, so I can only guess. Perhaps it makes the woman feel validated or more desirable.

Personally, I’ve never dated a bodybuilder. I find them to be unattractive. I don’t mind defined, muscular men, but I’m not into the Incredible Hulk look.

There is a huge difference between competitive bodybuilders and serious amateurs who compete to get a pro card and guys who work out a lot.

So first, you need to make that distinction. The vast majority of g4p guys do not have a pro card and are not among the top tier of amateurs who will get one.

However, it's also true that many pros were available - it's incredibly expensive to compete in the elite ranks and only a handful get lucrative endorsements. It's always been a part of it and done extremely discreetly A few guys like Chris Duffy went full on gay porn. Others like Bruce Patterson did a few videos, then resorted to "worship" after legal troubles bounced them from competing and endorsements. A handful like Tom Prince posed for a few pix at Colt, but then regretted it. A few folks like Caesar (Cameron Mitchell) and Tom Katt (Dave Papaleo) went the other direction from gay porn to amateur competitor. Kai Greene is notable for having done a lot of porn and competing seriously.

by Anonymousreply 21September 8, 2018 10:47 PM

It's expensive to be a bodybuilder - gear, foods, supps, gym memberships, competition fees, travel, etc.

I have a job but it doesn't cover all the expenses. So I have added another job - stripping in clubs to help cover costs. Best option is having a sponsor.

by Anonymousreply 22January 13, 2019 8:14 PM

Because sex is the only service you can sell with the end "product" of bodybuilding, and women don't have to pay for sex.

by Anonymousreply 23January 13, 2019 8:32 PM

Male same-sex attraction is taboo, that's why men come up with all sorts of excuses to justify their fascination with bodybuilders as non sexual. R14

by Anonymousreply 24January 13, 2019 8:49 PM

They resort to G4P because all the chemical engineering spots are taken.

by Anonymousreply 25January 13, 2019 10:18 PM

Yep, bodybuilding is an expensive sport. I know; I am a bodybuilder working on becoming contest ready. Most guys don't undertand the need .

by Anonymousreply 26January 15, 2019 11:50 AM

Many things in life are exprensive yet most people do not resort to these means to get the money. It is pretty obvious that bodybuilders as a whole are exhbitionists. You need to be an exhibitionist to some exent if you like to stand almost naked to show off your body.

by Anonymousreply 27January 22, 2019 7:16 AM

Because most of them are neurotic narcissists who need adoration and don't care from where it comes. If you actually listen to these guys it seems like many have psychological problems. I'm not even kidding. The dedication and self starvation it takes to keep a body like that is not normal. They are extremely controlled. I'm not sure how great it really would be to be in a relationship with one.

by Anonymousreply 28January 22, 2019 7:30 AM

Bodybuilders are horrible in bed. Spends all their energy in the gym. Always sore. No full range of motion or rhythm. And the overwhelming majority lack personality. Can only really talk gym shit. They're only good for looking at and touching.

by Anonymousreply 29January 22, 2019 10:07 AM

What is annoying about some bodybuilders is how they complain about gay men sexualising them when they build their bodies for admiration and fantasies to impress a hall full of over-excited men. "Look how big and sexy I am"; that's basically a bodybuilding contest if you remove euphemisms. Such spectacle is bound to be homoerotic in some degree.
