He’s the only reason I’m giving this new show “Yellowstone” a chance.
Isn't he a perv? I know I read somewhere that he would often try to shove his tongue down female reporter throats. anyone remember this?

by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 18, 2018 3:37 AM |
Quite a few candid photos of Costner visibly going commando. Does it on set as well and when filming scenes. He had been in trouble before with "accidentally" exposing himself and aggressively asking professional masseuses for "happy endings" but that was years ago and he's apparently either settled down or his wife kept him under control.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 18, 2018 5:23 AM |
I loved Kevin Costner's reign. Yes, he took himself too seriously and then started doing pretentious shit like The Postman. But at his peak, he was a classic movie star - handsome actor making films that appealed to audiences. A good run - The Untouchables, No Way Out, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Dances With Wolves, Robin Hood, JFK, The Bodyguard. I also love some of his lesser known movies like Revenge and A Perfect World.

[quote] He did a nude scene in some film, but it was cut when the preview audience laughed.
That was "For Love of the Game." It was an uncomfortable laughter that came from the audience so the scene was cut. There is an outtake of the same scene on the DVD only he's wearing white briefs. He sports a pretty hefty bulge, so I can imagine it being a shock for many of the audience. Especially the women since they're never able to handle looking at a man's genitals without laughing. When I saw "Wild Things" in the theater Kevin Bacon's dick scene was met with the same reaction. Again a bunch of women giggling at a man's penis and covering their faces like a bunch of prudes.

That doesn't make him a perv. That makes him a sleazeball. He'd only be a perv if the reporters were under the age of consent.

I have always found Kevin Costner very annoying, like a mosquito that insists upon flying around your ear and you just can't shoo it away. I think he could profit from being given a very hard, stern spanking in public from a gay guy. He seems homophobic.

R46 that’s a perfect description. I’ve only watched the first episode and it has potential. However, Kelly Reilly is so laughably bad in this. Her performance has no nuance and she just overacts and is a complete ham in this role. It’s honestly cringeworthy.

‘Yellowstone’ Premiere Ratings Nearly Double in Delayed Viewing
By Joe Ottersont
The premiere of Paramount Network’s new drama series “Yellowstone” saw impressive gains in delayed viewing.
According to Nielsen Live+3 data, “Yellowstone” pulled in 4.8 million viewers, up approximately 71% from the 2.8 million the show drew in Live+Same Day in its premiere on June 20. With that, “Yellowstone” now ranks as ad-supported cable’s most watched scripted drama series premiere since “The People vs O.J. Simpson” in 2016 and the most-watched original series telecast not only in the new network’s history, but also for its former iteration, Spike TV.
The show also rose 75% in adults 18-49, growing from a solid 0.4 to a 0.7 after three days of playback.
The series follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. The ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders, including an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park. In addition to Costner, the cast includes Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Dave Anabelle, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Josh Lucas, Jefferson White, Gretchen Mol, Jill Hennessey, Patrick St. Esprit, Ian Bohen, Heather Hemmons, Denim Richards, and Michael Nouri.
The series is written and directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan, known for his work on films like “Hell or High Water,” “Wind River,” and “Sicario” as well its sequel “Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado.” The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Costner, John Linson, Art Linson, and David C. Glasser. Ted Gold and Lauren Ruggiero are the executives in charge of production for Paramount Network.

by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 25, 2018 7:58 PM |
Good cast. I'll check it out.
Bull Durham is one of my favorite movies. I once read Costner's part had originally been written for Kurt Russell and the Susan Sarandon part was intended for Kim Basinger. That would have been a totally different movie, but one I would have like to see. I always thought Sarandon was too old for the part, which made her a little pathetic.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 25, 2018 8:20 PM |

I'd love to go back in time and suck him off during the Bull Durham era, right on the pitcher's mound!

I always thought that Costner should have played Tom Grunick, the William Hurt role in "Broadcast News" - a dumb but likable, sexy sports anchor who the camera loves. Hurt always seemed a little too secretly smart for the role, but I think Costner could have nailed it.

I've watched it. It's .... okay. I've generally liked Taylor Sheridan's film work, so I'm shocked at how pedestrian and predictable his foray into television is. I don't know what the heck Kelly Reilly's character is supposed to be about, and the script isn't doing the actress any favors. Wes Bentley has been wasted so far, but Luke Grimes is faring better. I'll keep watching for the incredible scenery and the pleasure of watching Costner be Costner.

He seems very content and satisfied with his career and his niche. I think it would make me very unhappy, to be ghettoised in period drama and seen as one archetype my whole artistic professional career, but he just smiles affably and shows up and seems to enjoy the work. Can’t really hate on that, even if it’s boring.

The story is good. Sort of concerning that they’re making the Native American the bad guy in this.
So Senna is gay? I know the sister said it but was she just teasing him?
The daughter was a total bitch in that first scene of hers, damn, talk about cold-hearted! And how she treats that ranch hand??
Too bad Annabel was killed off, I liked him.

The show actually reminds me of Dallas. I never saw Dynasty so can’t relate.

‘Yellowstone’ Becomes Second Most Watched Scripted Series On Basic Cable, Hits New Ratings Highs
July 16, 2018 2:05pm
Three episodes into its run, Paramount Network’s breakout new drama Yellowstone is the second most watched TV series on ad-supported cable to air in 2018, only behind juggernaut The Walking Dead.
Over its first three episodes, the series starring Kevin Costner has averaged 4.6 million viewers in Live+3. The drama had held steady in the ratings and even growing in key demographics. The most recent third episode, entitled No Good Horses, set records in adults 18-49 (1.3), adults 25-54 (1.9) and women 25-54 (1.7).
The series premiere of Yellowstone drew nearly 5 million viewers in Live+3, making it the top summer drama series debut on cable or broadcast. I was also ad-supported cable’s most-watched scripted drama series premiere since FX’s The People v O.J. Simpson in 2016 (8.3 million) and eclipsed the two previous launches on the six-month old Paramount Network, Waco and American Woman, both of which had posted respectable numbers.
From Oscar-nominated writer/executive producer Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Costner), who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, which is under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an Indian reservation and America’s first National Park. Cast also includes Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Dave Annable, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Josh Lucas, Jefferson White, Gretchen Mol, Jill Hennessey, Patrick St. Esprit, Ian Bohen, Heather Hemmons, Denim Richards, and Michael Nouri.
New episodes of Yellowstone premiere at 10 PM Wednesdays on Paramount Network.
