I miss this show. It had an interesting high concept plot and had decent acting for an ABC Family/Freeform show. I hated how they cancelled it and put on garbage like Secret Life of the American Teenager and Melissa and Joey.

For a young gay teenager in the mid-late 2000s, ABC Family, The WB/CW, UPN, MTV and Disney Channel had all the hot young guys.

Kyle XY, Laguna Beach, Falcon Beach, Boy Meets World, One on One, Phil of the Future, High School Musical, Lincoln Heights, 7th Heaven, One Tree Hill, etc.

I had a massive crush on Matt dallas as a teen. Huuuuge.

I was in love with Kyle's character. He was sweet, soft-spoken and unaware of his beauty, of course didn't understand society's taboo towards nudity.

The show always had Matt Dallas take his clothes off. I'm surprised ABC Family kept the "Family" in their name for so long

I thought the dad, Bruce Thomas, was the hot one on the show.

The dad, the son (Jean-Luc) and adopted (Kyle) were all hotties.

Also Lori's boyfriend Declan also was a hottie.

I wonder if Matt Dallas had to be closeted because of a contract with Disney during Kyle XY's run.

Of course oversexed heterosexual content is okay but God forbid Kyle likes boys

Matt Dallas deserved better. But he seems happy with his husband and child and probably chooses to not work too much.

Nice to see Matt and his handsome husband Blue are still together and happy. I just looked them up and they still make videos. I like that they are down-to-earth and handyman types. Much more relatable.

Poor guy had just gotten this job and his flaming scene as a cater-water on My Life On The D-List was dug up and started all the rumors that drove him deeper into the closet.

Kyle could have been written as bisexual because he was a clone and wouldn't have been socially conditioned to heterosexuality.

Great and pleasant show, until the final season ending with the worst Star Wars rip-off cliffhanger ever.

I can see the gay in him in this interview too. Like Jonathan Bennett and Matt Bomer, I feel his homosexuality was kinda just known in certain circles. Now David Gallagher and Chace Crawford managed to be illusive.

He had to deny it publicly. I feel he kind of was pressured by his Disney/ABC contract since so many fangirls wanted that fantasy to date him I guess.

Did Matt ever talk about the pressure from ABC and how Perez Hilton basically blackmailed him?

He admits he stay closeted because execs pressured him to for his career. He also admitted he toned down his gay voice and mannerisms too. Keep in my mind, he was young naive guy from Arizona that moved to LA. It's sad but I'm happy he is out and living his life.

Perez is hideous. He was trying to out everyone and ruin there careers. Things were still not what they are today even 10 years ago.

I'm glad Matt is with Blue who seems mature and balanced. Jonathan is stuck in his "Mean Girls" glory days and it's sad. I thought Jonathan was attractive in Mean Girls and that Dukes of Hazzard prequel but his attention-seeking personality is a turn-off. Also Jonathan is friends with Perez wtf?

Matt aged better than Jonathan too and is so much better off that he left Hollywood/LA. I hope Disney revives Kyle XY or something.

I remember talking to female fans of the show and them being pissed off at me whenever i mentioned the fact matt's gay and was dating johnathan. it was delicious when matt came out and then i showed them that he was gay and married and they all went "WHAT? NO? I HAD NO IDEA", as if i hadn't been saying it forever. matt is living his cowboy life with his husband and their kid. all they do is play farmers now. i don't think they're too bothered to get back in hollywood, they just enjoy their gay farmers life and their youtube revenue. bennet on the other hand is quite a sad sight. all he ever talks about is mean girls. not even the main actresses from mean girls talk about it as much as he does. he wasn't even a main character, he was just a love interest, hardly had any lines. he's a host for some baking competition now, so his acting career is 100% dead. his social media is basically just about the show or something mean girls related, with the occasional thirst trap of him and the boyfriend

Jonathan was in this low-budget critically panned historical revisioning film called The Haunting of Sharon Tate along with Hilary Duff.

Matt isn't a huge star but at least he was a lead in a TV show that ran 3 years with a small cult following. Many aspiring actors could dream of that honestly.

Kyle XY should have aired on FOX or The CW and it probably would have had a better run. Same with Lincoln Heights.

the cw probably would've made him gay for shock value. or have the parents divorce and one of them be gay for shock value. or jean luc's character be gay for shock value. there'd definitely be a character come out for shock value

I'm happy Jean-Luc Bilodeau got another show Baby Daddy. It's not that funny to me but it did have plenty of scenes with him, Derek Theler and Taj Mowry with no shirts on. Jean-Luc grew up to be quite handsome.

Baby Daddy was quite the funny sitcom. The mother was hilarious and the father came out as gay and Robert Gant (Showtime's Queer as Folk) played his partner. Also, Matt Dallas was a guest star on the show. Loved the audience cheering whenever Derek entered the set shirtless.

Jean Luc can't keep a woman to save his life: all of his relationships last very little and are just for the Gram. And this current GF he's traveling the world with (despite covid restrictions) seems more like a venture partner to me, as if they were running a social media business together or sth. Since his acting career is dead in the water LOL I think he's gay

I still want an official ending to this show. I mean Matt and Jean-Luc aren't working. Make it happen, Freeform (fka ABC Family)
