This is quite a complicated issue I suppose. I support gay, lesbian, transgender rights, but I can also empathize with the girls’ situation. The transgender runners are essentially male bodies competing against female bodies. The non-trans athletes could realistically be losing out on college scholarships because all of a sudden the trans runners are coming in and smoking them in highly competitive races.

The stuff will hit the fan when a trans wants to play NCAA softball. Talk about a shit storm.

Maybe they could compete in the Special Olympics.

I find myself in the middle when it comes to the trans debate. I get that gender and sex aren't the same thing. But I don't believe there's multiple sexes like people claim. I'll accept that there's male, female, and occasionally intersex. I believe there's numerous genders because gender is just a social construct. If trans people want to identify as a man or a woman then that doesn't bug me. But physically they are still whatever they were born as. These trans girls have different bodies than cis girls and it really isn't fair to the other girls to have to compete against them. There has to be a different way to handle this.

They have owned short track events since Jim Crow days, and track scholarships, some to excellent schools, has been the way for many AA female to ascend the socio-economic ladder(see Odell Beckham Jr's beautiful mother who was a star at LSU and now coaches on the college level.)

If the trend is to let black cis boys compete as females continues, within 3 years the potential to shut black women out of college scholarships and the eventual rise out of poverty, there will be hell to pay. I remember years ago, possibly early 90's, I was watching a documentary tv special about women boxers. The main featured boxer was a biological woman, she was 6 feet tall and iirc about 180 pounds. Anyways, she was complaining that she wanted a shot at boxing men because she wasn't making any money boxing women. Lesbians have been complaining about predatory transgender activism for years, but organizations set up to promote gay rights now seem to care only about the T and every other letter that follows. I have been saying the same thing for a long time R94, the average person does not differentiate between Gay and Trans, they think one and the same. It’s ironic that in the 50s, 60s, and 70s the Bloc countries doped up their athletes, forced them to compete in opposite sex categories, the works— and it was seen as cheating and roundly ridiculed here in the West with jokes about the stereotypical “East German woman” having a five o’clock shadow. A lot of those athletes died young or now have debilitating health conditions thanks to sports medicine experimentation. The more things change...
